Interesting, this sounds as fundamental change to game mechanics as PDS is for Homeworld 2. Looking forward some Diciple furballs [e digicons][/e]

Everything will work like in original sins, Entrenchment only adds new units, buildings, and technologies :)
This game has provided most bang for the buck, ever (except maybe classic doom). I'm just waiting for the next micro-expansion to become pre-orderable, so i can send you some more money [e digicons][/e]
Sins is one of the prettiest games i've seen, and i thought that even before the graphical enhancements [e digicons][/e]
That applies for Homeworld too ;) When it's 4:30 in the morning and you keep saying "just one more minute". (True story, unfortunately [e digicons]x_x[/e] )
There have been some threads on buffing capital ships here lately, so that just might happen :)
I played Doppelgangers last night, as i destroyed the final AI's first planet (i already owned all other systems), it surrendered. Endgame statistics show that it had a nice thing going, but apparently my fleet convinced it to surrender, but maybe it should give a little more resistance before quitting.
It is a micro-expansion, after all ;)
Entrenchment was officially released last wednesday, what you're referring to is the BETA version for pre-orderers. BETA kinda implies that it's not release ready, don't you think? Also, C&C3 i've heard a lot of complaints, but i never felt ripped of by it, IMO it's better Tiberian Sun, only problem i have with it how they changed Tiberium, but thats just my opinion.
Found the thread, problem solved and image quality got even better [e digicons][/e] Im just worried what'll happen to framerate in massive battles with forced 8x AA...
Advent shield research also increases their idle mitigation, as does their culture, which means they take less damage than other races. If these would also effect buildings, even small garrisons would prove to be a though nut to crack. The Shield Bestowal ability is meant to be a small buff to their defenses, like the TEC hangar flak cannons, and Vasari's Phasic Trap.
One thing i notice is that there are no white dots on the edges of ships. For some reason i get them with max detail. Otherwise, that is how my game looks :)
It's balance thing, propably. If Shield Bestowal would upgrade with standard shield research, it would make destroying Advent garrisons a major pain in the ass. Besides, Shield Bestowal isn't a same kind of shield like the ones on their ships, so there is a reaon why it doesn't upgrade. If Shield Bestowal was to be upgradeable, there would have to be a separate lvl 6 or 7 research item in the defense tree for that.
Yet another excuse for piracy. But the pirates don't have access to post 1.05 patches, which means you'll be playing an inferior game without multiplayer. BTW, did you know that there is a trial going on in Sweden against the founders of pirate bay? It's not looking too good for the prosecutor last i heard, and even were these people convicted, the site wouldn't
Yet another feature i missed [e digicons]#:([/e] Is that effect permanent or temporary?
If capitol ships are so flimsy, why are they called capitol ships?
Their not, they are called capital ships :p Nitpicking aside, sesmet pretty much said it all. All capital ships, including battleships, are useful as a support for a fleet, but pretty crappy by themselves. Their abilities, especially with Advent, make them useful. I don't really know about MP, but in SP several capital ships in a fleet are a must have for their abilities (Unless you go for "Fear
Good to hear! Capital ships? Skull-shaped Starbases?! [e digicons]:dur:[/e]
I hope it doesn't take too long, pirates are a sad joke with these new armed-to-the-teeth starbases.
And the AI now actively captures those too, so you need to watch after them. Another special feature is that they support 4 refineries insted of 3, so they can be quite valuable.
Actually, Ironclad is the developer, Stardock is the publisher. Otherwise, i couldn't agree more, can't wait for the next expansion.
Do note, however, that by upgrading the fleet cap you will lose part of your credit and resource income to upkeep, so if you have low income rates, keep your fleet cap low.
It's already possible to do it with a mod, there was just no reason for them to change the vanilla
How cool would it be if Kol's railgun got bigger everytime you level up the ability? Or if flak guns appeared on it's hull when leveling up the Flak Burst ability? I hope something like this will be added by someone.
And with the help of Kostura's temporary Phase Stabilizer, you can simply bypass chokepoints, and hit right into the juicy, undefended core worlds.
Upgrades ARE visible on Starbases. Maybe visible changes on Caps will come on the future mini-expansions (Though IMO Entrenchment is anything but "mini" [e digicons][/e] )
You can define the number of stars, number of planet groups a star has and what types and how many planets those groups contain, everything else is random. I've only used it once or twice though, i usually just use the random map in the map selection screen.
