Thanks for the update, Bara. Any idea when we'll start to see losses counted?

Thanks, D, post updated..
So Cari_Elf on IRC said a little while ago that Stardock does not yet have the update, GPG is still looking at it. I think that means that if it does come today it will be at least a couple of hours because it takes a while for it to upload to Impulse. Let us know if you mad betas out there hear anything else...
Which demigods are light and which are dark?
Light - Regulus, Rook, Oak, Sedna Dark - Queen of Thorns, Unclean Beast, Torchbearer, Erebus
Nice guide, Ralsar. Another build for you to try: Rogue Sedna: Sedna and Cloak of Night were made for each other. Grab warpstone too, and maybe wand of speed. Skill up Pounce, Silence, and Heal. Ignore auras and Yetis past level 1. Buy both 2nd tier gloves and any other dps/snare items you like. This is a quick, aggressive, glass cannon build you use to either finish a wounded opponent or take half of his health so quickly that he
At this time Stardock is not planning on opening Beta to anyone who pre-orders from third-party sources like Gamestop. Incidentally, if it is much cheaper from somewhere else it might be because the Impulse pre-orders are the Collector's Edition.
Any news on Beta 3 today (2/19) let us know [e digicons][/e]
One thing that made me put some time into Rise of Nations was the Risk-like metagame. Something about pulling out from a battle and seeing it affect your territory and resources on the larger map makes it a much more compulsive proposition than just seeing your name or faction rise on a list. It gives the metagame a tangible quality of achievement - always a good thing. A metamap would be difficult to implement before release but even some detailed tou
Totally Sweet (tm)
I wonder if Stardock is licensing their system for longterm use in Impulse or if this is an interim which will be replaced as they have time? Either way, if the integration is simple it's most likely a very good idea to use a proven API, especially considering release is just around the corner.
I wonder how much this thread on RPS had to do with the price change? http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/02/18/braid-coming-to-impulse/#comments Alot of Impulse haters on that thread oO
P.S. Love the new avatar pic!!!
Thanks Trigeminal [e digicons]|-)[/e]
I see this in most multiplayer games about 5 minutes in. Total freeze for 10 seconds or so but music doesn't stop. After first freeze it doesn't re-occur. It occurs for all players in the game. I've also had it where you can still chat but the game is frozen which seems like a lag issue to me. I always restart DG client between games. Intel X38/Q9300 @ 2.6GHz/4GB/ATI 4850
It's the favor item, so it's available at level 1 for Generals who have won a couple of games. The artifacts are Cloak of Flame and Cloak of Elvenkind, I think
same key, just toggle through to see different UI options
* ah I see Unclean Beast at both Forces of Light and Forces of Darkness. This means all demigods can be played regardless of which Forces you join.
I'm wondering if that's just a skirmish game - as opposed to a tournament game...If so we haven't had confirmation one way or other...
Congratulations, all you crazy impassioned internet people - reply # 300!!! [e digicons][/e] Now how do we feel about the Death Penalty? ;)
AI doesn't cheat on Normal Difficulty Settings I think.
That is correct. You don't hit "cheating" until you play hard or nightmare AI You have advantages no AI will ever have. If it makes you feel better, some lil AI is probably posting in a virtuality about how humans are cheats because they use adaptability, awareness, and intuitive decision-making. Against those a 20% buff to stats and resources seems pretty paltry... ;P
Cloak of Night is the General item instant warp that delivers 300 damage to all enemies near target. I like it a bunch, but it might be slightly OP through level 10 or so, being as it is an instant AoE damage spell you can't run away from. It's the perfect finisher. Alot of times you see people completely confused as to how they died because it happens so quickly... One favorite is 2 QoTs with this item. Two Groundspikes and two cloakwarps will kill most anyone
In a Rook Duel the one with the staff will always win. I would argue that this (along with Cloak of Night) is the most powerful favor item currently. Kurgan's tweak to affect abilities used after trigger works but I would add a short channel time if you go this approach - 1.5 second channel, cooldown on abilities used within 10 seconds of trigger is cut in half. Other possible tweaks - - reduce effect to 30% rather than 50%, still an advanta
looking good - thanks for the screenies. [e digicons][/e] I like the health bar for citadels, xp for portal control, and new fortress locations. Looking forward to new cutscene and maps
This topic has been beat to death in many threads - with people who actually play Regulus on one side and everyone else on the other. Any DG is going to seem overpowered until you play it against skilled opponents. Then it becomes clear that there are weaknesses and blind spots that can be exploited. Regulus has range - entirely mitigated by his low damage, health, and armor. He has no stuns, his main damage spells have been substantially nerfed, a
Congrats to flurus for rank #1 tomorow. Damm chemiotherapie.... if it was that I would keep my spot Anyway he deserve it.
Don't worry Wagnard - I'm gonna grind out 85 wins tonight to take 1st place...[e digicons][/e] Good luck at St. Victoria's, btw...Don't slip getting up that hill... In other news, I'm impressed by the number of Beta testers who have actually played a game since stats tracking came in, le
Thanks for the update, Bara I'm sure these will resolve as people play but I'm seeing a few things that are strange - - Minutes played is negative for some people, and appears to affect the ranking - Blackbeard is in there 6 times or so, and there are some other multiples
We are disagreeing about something that is a matter of taste. You do not want bluffing in your game, that is fine, but I do. To say that it is a logical extention of my viewpoint that we should hide EVERYTHING is a non sequitur.
My post was intentionally over the top, apologies if it was too much [e digicons]|-)[/e] It's meant to illustrate that our conversation takes place on a spectrum between complete information and no information, if we take your argument t
