didn't somebody mention something llike this a while back, and they ended up having to dump their cookie for the site too, or something? don't mind me...i'm only half-aware of reality at any given time anyways...and it's Friday...
what the heck..might as well cover ALL the bases... ok, if you are the type of person who regularly flushes your cookies, it will remove your logon as well as the icons indicating which posts you have read, and which have been responded to since you read them last... um...try not to use profanity, as we have people's families that sometimes stroll through here to see their work, or even teenagers who are getting into this "skinning thing"... <img src="http://images.stardock.com
got any questions yet? if not, here's a pre-emptive strike on some you may rapidly come up with... downloads are free, until you reach 100 megs. then you can no longer download, unless you do one of a few easy things: 1) be a proactive person on the message boards and part of the community and provide cponstructive criticism/praise (comments) on others' works 2) create at least ( 1 ) skin for ANYTHING, no matter how badly YOU think it is, and uploa
yay mikey!
no, that's good info. i haven't been tasked with translating .prt or .asy files yet, but if/when i do i at least have another bit of information to help me along, thanks to you! really, your insight is appreciated
oh...poop. you know, I was coming across the same sounding thing. Well, maybe CAD was the wrong description. I think they might be the 2D renders of the 3D designs. Dunno. Either way, it sounds like viewers are hard to come by unless you purchase the proprietary software, even if you have no need to edit it in that format and don't store it in that format. Thanks for the help though!
I just use a hammer and chisel on this pile of rocks, right here...see? When I get done tapping out a post, I throw it into the phone lines dangling above my thatch-roof hut, and when the sparks go flying, the messages post here. To read them I jump up and grab a line, and right before the juice throws me back a hundred feet or so, I get a flash of the message board and everything on it, so I can read all of the replies. What is this weird "Operating System" thing you speak of?
Hi, First off, I'm a HUUUUUUGE fan of your work. Not saying I'm large or anything Anyways...I do some work with 3D drawings and one of the file formats we receive is .pkg ...part of what I have to do with these files is to print hardcopies for the drafter and engineer to redline and compare notes. The problem is we don't all have viewers for .pkg files. I have been digging around on th
I like the Michigan Wolverines!
*doreenosis is one of them *
looks like a nice layout. i'm not big on the color scheme, but it actually is a nice change from all the blues/grays out there. dunno if you intended it or not, but your graphic just down and to the left of your username entry has a darker blue-greenish edge, whereas the rest of the same area has no edge coloration... also, did you intend for the page you are on to be highlighted on the top navbar's link? if so, cool, it works. actually, maybe highlighted isn't the right word.
and to divide your harddrive for different operating systems might require repartitioning them, unless you get something snazzy like SuSE linux or Mandrake Linux, which make room for themselves on available free space already partitioned on an ntfs partition of a windows box...
I believe software like litestep, desktopX, etc. allow you to do this...I think...
Are you asking for virtual desktops? Linux does it by default. I do not know if windows can do this. Windows normally has one desktop, and no others. Products are sold that allow you to have multiple instances of desktops on a wiondows system, but I'll have to go dig to find links to their sites... desktop=workspace in my above writings, in case I am confusing you (sorry).
holy poop, batman...nice links KenLin. I am now debating on changing...looks like I have a TON to choose from. Do you know how hard it is to get a straight answe like this out of google? Well, it is...
I'll assume Pretender wants to live to see his next birthday and ignore the "f" word he used... I got the Snitz board up and running...took a little modifying, not much...pretty pleased, I must say, although this is the first I have done, so maybe I am setting my standards low... Thanks Ken, I'll check those in a minute.
thank you both very much! i just came across snitz last night. i think i will give it a shot. thanks again! and i want to look into that whiteboard idea...sounds interesting.
sorry about the off topic, but i figure there is a decent spread of knowledge here, and I am getting overwhelmed quick out on the net... ok, here's the situation: I am setting up a web site and I want to set up a small, simple forum so that people can communicate. It doesn't need to be any where near as tricky as this site's, just something small and fast, hopefully in asp. I can't run perl off of my host's servers, and I don't know php. Any suggestions? Again, sorry a
wow, Jaf...seems everyone knows you turned 73, huh? I thought you were trying to pretend you were 30-ish...you know, to keep trying to pick up the girls 'n stuff...
listen to mig... so, when do we get to see some work? got html questions? ever dabbled with coding before? wonder why pesky people who ask tons of questions are allowed in this place? me too...hmmm....
you could also set up your own website under a free hosting agency if you want it to be "just yours" and then you can tell all your friends/son's friends and have it publicly displayed... geocities http://geocities.yahoo.com/ angelfire http://angelfire.lycos.com/ tripod http://www.tripod.lycos.com/ brinkster http://www.brinkster.com/ etc...
sweet design work. i like your mouseovers on the left navbar too...
?yo quero taco bell? ...or something like that...
