I totally agree. Would it really be that difficult to see if the user is logged in as an administrator or has suitable rights and then at least offer the option to save game files in the install folder/savegames? Why aren't they at the very least saved in My Documents/My Games like a few other games I could mention? It isn't for technical reasons! Currently save games and the auto saves and auto records can end up taking hundreds of Mb and worst of all they're not intuitive to find or g

Well at least one games company is noticing that PC users are FED UP with "needing" a $1000 computer with 10gb of memory and xtreme slix10 shader 9 1000tb hard disk nuclear powered monster. Just to get a game to run at 10fps. I can't say how nice it is to see a game which did not need 10gb to install and runs like crap. I wish other developers would take note but they are too busy making games which need nuclear power stations to run and then wondering why nobody buys them and instead b

I'd like to see a simple and easy way to change a fleet's lead ship as well. Tabbing through and recreating the fleet is fine for very small groups but when you have a big fleet going then it becomes a pain. You shouldn't have to be doing multiple selections and multiple combinations of keys either. This gets even more annoying if you're trying to split up into several fleets. The addition of a simple "Make fleet leader" icon would be very nice! :D

It would be better to mention what it is you didn't like about single player mode. Might be things which people agree on and if enough agree it might be fixed by the developers?

Please make ships autojoining a fleet adopt the tactics and behavior of the fleet! For example if a fleet is set to "loose formation, local area, group jump" when a ship arrives and joins the fleet that ship should adopt the same tactics, instead of causing everything to become "mixed" Main reason is otherwise you have to reset the tactics manually every time a ship joins or, for example, when you try a jump that new ship jumps by itself while the rest of the fleet is still getting read

There is a solution to this. Dedicated servers, which run a game even if the host or other players quit. Either replace dropped players with AI or a temporary AI while allowing someone else to join and then carry on where the other guy dropped. Problem fixed. Nobody is forced to play or continue if the game is no longer enjoyable for them. They can quit and AI will take over, or possibly care-take until someone else joins and replaces the AI. But like mentioned before you can't
sorry i forgot to add (probably has been said already)being able to SET CAP MAX at the map selection (up to a point of course)
Or better the option to turn hard limits off as well, so you can choose limit or disable limit altogether!

Firstly you need to get off your high horse calling them noobs. You were probably one too, and even if you're the greatest player in the world who does it truly matter to except yourself? I didn't read pages two or three of this but let's face it, why do people play? Because they want to have FUN. It is NOT FUN to lose for many people or to feel like they are going to lose. Adding ranking/points will not change this. It might even make things worse because if someone gets a "l

I think the slot based idea might be the best one? Or have it like this: - Slot based mechanics for ingame. So you can research and develop hulls, modules and change things around like that - External (not in the game) editor for changing models and painting.

The navy term for mercenary might be Privateer since in older times the powers that be gave authority to private warships to attack their enemies in times of war. Pirates are different in that they'd attack anyone who they thought was weak/rich or some such, and not just during war time.
The join list only shows games that are available to join--those that have already begun are not shown. That, and it's morning still in the US. Most people are probably at work/school right now.
That really should be changed so it lists all games, full/started or not. It is not unreasonable to state that a player who sees 100 full servers is going to think a game is more popular (and thus could be worth trying again) than if he only sees 20 full servers, and

Sorry I didn't read all the replies and don't know the beta history but one idea? How about a specialist ship or technology which lets you take out inhibitors quickly? A special ship or gun which does extra damage to those inhibitors. But it has to get to the inhibitor to begin with, so you can't just send one in by itself - must send it with a fleet if there are defenders. Maybe make it expensive to produce so you can't make lots of them? Maybe have it also so that the inhibitor destro

This one I think should be considered as a basic design decision for all future and previous content: for everything you add in future or past, where possible add it as a toggle! Ability to turn things on and off in a setup screen, for both single player and multiplayer. Seriously this could save a lot of arguing on the forums and make for a much more customised gaming experience where people can tune things to how they like. Just add toggles for most things you can!
How about this. We have a check box in the game play options. If you click it on, then frigates and larger ships will move around and dogfight in their respective speeds. If you uncheck it, they don't. Then everybody is happy and we don't have to hear people explain why ship movement during combat is unrealistic, absurd, and I can't believe I read this earlier, but "against the lore".
Totally agree. In fact it would be nice if the devs add many things with OPTION to turn
now go away
Why do posters on this forum insist on making comments like that? His post has just as much right to be here as yours :) Anyway, I think it would be nice to have some moving bigger ships. Even if it is only aesthetic, so what? If the devs make it an Option! As a graphic options "turn on/off ship
The current pirate implementation is decent, but the auctions really really suck. Whenever I hear "A pirate raid is imminent" I basically have to stop my game for a minute to babysit the pirate screen and make sure I don't get 30 corsairs rammed up my @ss. As much as I try to pay attention to the notifications, I always find myself reloading when the AI throws a last millisecond bid in. Putting more money in the pot doesn't really help either, since the AI will still bid higher if at all

It strikes me that Pirates don't actually behave like pirates at all. All they really amount to is a Mercenary force that goes and attacks whoever has the biggest fee on their head. Essentially they work for whoever pays the most, which is Mercenary basic code! My idea I think rename the pirates into mercenaries or change the behaviour so they act like real pirates might behave. Instead of going for whoever has the biggest bounty on their head, pirates might go do things of their own ac

Why is there even a cap?? The advertisements I saw said this game has no limits to the size and number of units and only limit was hardware. So why is there a cap? Can't you add the option to turn cap off??

Also I noticed the AI does not use everything a player might do. It should change tactics and research and develop more things as the player forces develop at least. Finally I agree with an early post. Why are ALL small race planets hostile? I understand the main opponents could be but there is no need for every minor race on a map being hostile. They should be a mixture. Some hostile. Some neutral. Some even offering to be friends? It kind of lessens the interest in the diplomatic and

More units! AI behaviour variety and using various fleet compositions, or even multiple fleets instead of just a big fleet of frigates. There is one behaviour which is very silly. If the AI faces a superior force it retreats. Fine. But if there is a superior force waiting at the other side as well then it starts to play ping pong between the two nodes. It should pick a node and DO something. Stand and fight, try to break through. Anything but ping pong!

I really don't know. I am starting to get bored of it in single player already. The AI becomes predictable and uses swarms of frigates for example. It really needs an overhaul for more variety and perhaps even some random tactics and fleet compositions mixed in or at least more balanced ones.
