Whether you buy contract or Pay as you go... most times the phone is "Locked" to one provider. I know this is not the case all times... I recently bought a Nokia 3510i as a gift... It came with a T-mobile sim... but works with all 5 Virgin included! If a phone is "Locked" it can be "Un-Locked" at just about any bootsale/market/independant phone shop for about a tenner or by yourself (if you buy the correct pc suite and connectors which you can then use to unlock friends phones for a small fe
