unleashedelf, the only answers I know of are 1 the 'map designer' and do not use the 'random colonisable' planet type (you did specify random map ie not knowing what the map layout is) 2 create a mod with a altered galaxyscenariodef.galaxyscenariodef that removes the dwarfs and asteriods from the random colonisable, (this would allow you to play all existing maps that use the random colonisable (in theory) hope this helps harpo </p
blair, will your fixes be in the 1.8 patch? harpo
will the patch have blair's fixes for the map issues? harpo
the exe installer does offer to instal a single browser addon but it is only if you are installing while online, if you install while offline it does NOT offer any extra shit, and even has a zip file version that you can just extract all the files from and run the discinfo.exe to get the current state for all the hdds/ssds in the computer without installing. here is the source website that I get the latest from ( h
only if the drive sheds it's rust, usually it is somewhat possible to get data from a drive even if it smokes(yes I did have this happen to a customer, and yes we(myself AND the data recovery company) DID get ALL the drive contents BACK and on a NEW drive and built a new comp as the rest of the comp had also smoked(as in let the SMOKE out of the parts due to a power supply failing to overvoltage(rare, but possible, the usual power supply failure is undervolts/amps not letting the comp sta
the map format for sins 1.0 (from back in 08) was mapversion 0,the map location was the game's location\GalaxyForge. even I do NOT have a copy of the galaxyforge v0. there were seperate patches for sins 1.0 to 1.02(I think that mapversion 1 came here),then to 1.03, then to 1.04, then to 1.05(from what I remember map version 2 was about here), and after that it was the impulse downloader to update, and also entrenchment and diplomacy(and use map version 3) BOTH were impulse, and ha
I am able to play on TWO 1920 x 1080 screens side by side, but it is a bit easier on one screen, and most of the screenies in the varoius threads are for 1920x1080, so you should be able to form your own opinion from the screenies harpo
then drag them through a large river full of pirana in a feeding frenzy harpo
for original sins/trinity/entrenchment/diplomacy the CORRECT path to the GalaxyForge folder is for xp C:\Documents and Settings\ 'user name' \ Local Settings\Application Data \Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge or for vista/windows 7/window 8 C:\Users\ 'user name' \ AppData\Local \Ironc
regarding the rings and amulets, it IS possible to buy them in the store WHEN you complete the 'glyph stones' magic research. similar for the restoration postions, but the conclave(that you are buying from) NEEDS the alchemist improvement along with the relevent research. I have not noticed the collar in the store, but might be with a late magic research level. the cloak of stars is a reward for a quest. in my games my sov only loses mana on defeat, BUT
sins uses the iron engine by ironclad. harpo
I also do NOT like the entrenchment/diplomacy/entrenchment cobalt voice, and have a set of instructions to create a mod that changes the sound back to the vanilla sound. 1 in the expansion's latest mod folder (eg rebellion would be in the 'documents\my games\ironclad games\sins of a solar empire rebellion\mods') create a mod folder (example name 'fix sounds') 2 inside the folder you just created, create a folder named 'Sound'( Note the CASE of the f
galtst files means the debug lines in the 'targetsinsver.txt' in the same folder as the map updater need to be changed with a text editor to NOT read 'debug'. the debug lines are to turn on the debugging codes in the utilities when the lines read 'debug' (and this is NOT case sensitive) so if you alter each of the three lines so that they do NOT read 'debug' eg 'debuged', 'nodebug' etc it will then run through. harpo
whismerhill, it is internally coded to the fallen enchantress paths, so untill ev4debug can get around to modifing it to work with LH and it's different path to the mods and program, it will not work (and I also would like to have a working with LH version) harpo
I also agree with wintercross, as I have also run the dribbling rebeliron in an xp box with a geforce 8800gt but the cpu in use in that box is an old athlon x2 6000+ 150watter so was a BBBBIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTT laggy even in the early game. harpo
zarx88, if you place the map in the rebellion's(1) 'my documents\.....\GalaxyForge' folder then (2)use the beta rebellion map updater it SHOULD update the map is you (3)first click on the 'rebellion' button then (4)click on the 'find galaxies' button then (5)click on the 'fix galaxies' button. after the map updater has run you should see several .galold files in the 'my documents\.....\GalaxyForge' folder, these files are the original maps t
dip does not support the needed changes to get titans, but if the 'titans' were converted to a new FRIGATE or cap ship you might be able to get them to be in the game as a mod, BUT the titan abilities would need to be rewritten to work with the changed ship type, and also the corvettes which are the main counter to the titans would also have to be converted over so that the titans and counters are in, and also the 'mesh files' fx files and a few other files would also need to
the BEST place to look is rick's galaxy ( https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/442965 ) as vanilla sins was and IS VERY hard to mod for as you NEED every file, entrenchment diplomacy AND rebellion are a LOT easier to create extension mods for as they can ADD files and all unaltered files can be read from the base game, BUT because of this they are also more likely to hit the dreaded minidump ram limit of just under 2gb ram us
assuming it is a custom sov, then look in the mods/units folder for the sov name, and edit with a TEXT editor like notepad/notepad++, BUT this will NOT alter anything in the savegame, and the savegames are not editable to my limited knowledge. harpo
unfortunately the kickstarter has finished, BUT buring sun can still be backed of the suntzu games website. BUT the kickstarter did exceed the target so the board game should happen. harpo
opening BIOS is usually not dangerous, unless you go changing the settings regarding the drive controllers( and if you have done this then reseting the bios back to 'default' will often fix it, and to access the bios settings it is often the 'f2', 'f11', 'f12' or delete keys during the memory testing or right after switching on ( and apparently some w8 machines can even access bios settings from inside window8) harpo
fistalis, I HAVE re-activated windows (most versions(so far no window hate)) with a motherboard/hdd change, and if there have been 3 activations, I might have to phone the activation phone line and eventually get to a person & tell the the re-activcation is due to either motherboard OR hard drive failure/replacement, and am given a manual type in activation code. harpo
then you reserected it.
Is this where I find the Ministry of Silly Posts? (Not to be confused with the Ministry of Silly Walks)
no just the ministry of silly posters. harpo
