mooster I am writing the map updater to save many hours of map updateing by hand and it is about 40% complete ie all of the support functions are in place now I just have the vital part that analizes the map file and inserts the changes. AND I ALSO want a new galaxy forge hopefully with an automated way of adding indepenent militias harpo

bazkur I did get a similar problem that is why I suggested removing the galaxys from the documents and settings/users galaxy folder. blacktigeractual 7 deadly sins isONLY FOR SINS 1.05 not later.the only way to get to 1.05 is install from dvd then apply patch5/bonuspack5 unless you have an archive for 1.05. harpo
I am about40% complete on this, th major part left is the read in maps then process & write out the changed maps code all of the support itemshave already been debuged on xp32, xp64,vista32 & 64 & w7 32 & 64 harpo
when you create a program to fix a problem in sins
I am glad that you found the culprit. btw which zonealarm were you useing? harpo
sounds like one of the other bugs in b3 & not related to maps at all suggest you email the minidumps to support at ironcladgames.com harpo
bazkur, sounds like you have a mapdesigner map from before the update. try the following you have to remove ALL galaxy files older than 20 feb 2009 in C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy(32 bit) or C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy(64 bit)) AND C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy (xp) or C:\users\"user na
did you put the normalstart & quickstart entries for each planet including wormholes? btw I am working on a map conversion program to convert maps from the old structure to the new structure harpo
annatar I had done a fresh install into a different windows installation and the no pirate maps installed with 1.14, but they are NOT detected by sins 1.14 as they still have versionnumber 0. the problems is caused by the devs forgetting to update the versionnumber to 3 when the changed the map format for 1.14/beta3.0. if the devs had then the crashes would not have happened. harpo
the galaxy forge 1.1 dows not create maps for 1.14, they miss the normalstart and quickstart entries for the map AND each planet I think the devs should have changed the version of sins to 1.20 for vanilla & beta3,0 and the map versionnumber to 3 harpo
carbon, the 8600gt is good enough for sins, the lagging is RAM/cpu core BOUND ie faster cpu/ram the better sins runns almost as fast on my old laptop ie toshiba l20 as it does on my q66oc 2.8ghz w 4gb1066 ati4850 system harpo
jeremyshaw the amd 64 bitters are tha amd64 amd64x2 socket 754,939am2,am2+,am3 940 and the semprons for these sockets
mad scientist 1.4 is for 1.10 to 1.13, and 7deadly sins is for 1.05. what version of sins do you have? look at the bottom righthand corner of the sins main menu. harpo
I had the problem in my w764bit after updateing to 1.14 & found blair frasers posts followe his advice and it worked for me, perhaps there is a mod with maps that might be affecting things? harpo
I suggest getting sins 1.14 & entrenchment beta3.0 for the quick play option, but it BROKE compatibility with maps as the devs changed the map structure without changeing the man versionnumber harpo
of my 20 computers I have the nine computers built in the last 4 years are 64bit capabable but only three are running with a 64bit os as I require app compatibility with the os and some of the apps get confused with 64bit os's, and the two are for TESTING app compatibility, with w7 being almost zero dificulties. harpo
you have a old map designer map. it needs to be removed from the sins galaxy folders before sins map designer will work. here is the instructions you have to remove ALL galaxy files older than 20 feb 2009 in (C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy(32 bit) or C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy(64 bit)) AND C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of
I also set the planet to owner by militia and a player by the name of militia set all player types to false, and the colonise to 1.0 in the template harpo

I'm very interested in this feature, could you tell me what its named in the bios, and perhaps also your bios motherboard chipset and model name?[/quote] I also would like to which settings in the BIOS to help my quad cores and dual cores with sins harpo
annatar11 the changes in the map files are as follows quickstart & normalstart homeworld upgraded levels, quickstart & normalstart upgrade levels on each planet and the infrastructure upgrade level listed on each planet all while keeping the map version at 2, I found out these things by compareing the old ancient gifts with the new ancient gifts if the devs had bumped the map version to 3 & required it in maps the map issue would not have happened & pla
I am sorry but I do not have any ideas why 1.0 would not run, but if you are downloading an update and trying to run the program you are updateing then that might be the problem, otherwise I would suggest emailing either support at stardock.com or support at ironcladgames.com harpo
I have examined the maps. they are for sins versions UP TO 1.13, they WILL CAUSE A CRASH IN SINS 1.14/entrenchment beta3.0+ harpo
kyro as of versin 1.14/entrenchment beta 3.0 the map HAS CHANGED with the new quickstart option whch affects all planets and the map default starting values and the devs DID NOT change the versionnumber, but i am starting to write a program for the generalized map updateing from version1.0 -1.13 to version 1.14 compatible, that will check and correct all maps to the new format. I have made many maps that I did not want to start making over again with the new galforge when it becomes a
caydr and darvin3 why don't we each write a program that can convert older maps to the new map structure & offer them to ironcladgames/stardock so that they will not have this sort of problem again? or to put it another way why not a compitition to write the most capable/fastest/adaptable galaxy file converter with the devs judging which is the best? harpo
sounds like the maps problem this fix worked for me , but I am working on a program to prevent thistype of problem. you have to remove ALL galaxy files older than 20 feb 2009 in (C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy(32 bit) or C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy(64 bit)) AND C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy (xp) or<
