yes it was written for english only as i only speak english, although the program was supposed to get the local settings location from windows. I will attempt to find an answer to this one. harpo edit could you please either pm or post a list of root directories to help with the modification of the program? harpo

the womholes can ONLY connect to ONE other wormhole/gw, I just did a quick & dirty test of 2,3,4 connections to each wormhole & only one link worked harpo
from what I remember the version 1.0 do not support mods, 1.02,1.03,1.04,1.05,1.10,1.11,1.12,1.13,1.14, and 1.15/entrenchment 1.01 do support mods, so I would suggest either googling 'sins 1.05 update' or installing impulse and updateing you sins and while you are at it you might want to buy entrenchment. harpo
the latest galaxy forge is out and working called galaxyforge3.rar on the downloads page I have used it to alter a map I had updated with the sins map updater, but at present these tools do not add maps to the galaxy manifest for entrenchment harpo
teal the picture at the website yo u linked is for chicko. harpo has the bushy eyebrows and the cigar and I am thinking of creating my own image. harpo
ok that suggests that the C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy (xp) or C:\users\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy(vista/windows7)). directories are missing, which could happen if you have different user names in the computer and sins was installed in user"a" and you run the map updater in user "b" for example. th simples fix is to run
try redownloading I downloaded yesterday and it works bu on w7 I had to extract to another folder before w7 would allow me to extract it. harpo
according to what blair told me, the maps just have to be added to the galaxy.manifest with the correct format. I might update the map updater do add maps to the manifest or I might write another little utility to add the nonstandard maps harpo
the (x86) is for 64 bit windows for 32bit it is the plain program files & I have xp,xp64,vista,vista64,w7, & w7 64bit, & tested on all oses with default installation. one of the reasons is the old method of multiple versions installed on one computer ie copy the sins filder to a new name then update the default location, and the program is currently set up for the latest version, so should only look in the current directories & not old versions. for those that installed in a d
email the dmp to [email protected] harpo
sorry but the program was written for the default locations, but the workaround would be to create a directory in the windows drive \program files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\, and copy Sins of a Solar Empire.exe into it then copy your galaxy folder into the sins directory then run the map updater. then copy the sins directory back to where you want it. the reason for the sins version check is so that people will not bugger maps when they have an older version of sins as the
download the map updater, extract it and it's ESSENTIAL SUPPORT TXT FILEs into the same folder(any)& run it harpo
the program looks for the default install location of sins (C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire) for 32 bit or (C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire) for 64bit and checks the sins version. the reason for the version check is to prevent updateing maps to a version that is incompatible with the verion of sins installed. which version of sins is reported? harpo
download the map updater, extract it and it's ESSENTIAL SUPPORT TXT FILEs into the same folder(any)& run it harpo
you unrar it to anywhere, then run the exe, which will only look in the default sins areas ie program files\stardock games\sins and appdata\ironclad games\sins, click on the find galaxies button & it searches the two areas and returns a list of ALL GALAXY files, when you click on 'fix galaxies' it then goes through the list of galaxies checks if it is a ironclad official galaxy if not it thenreads the galaxy into memory & checks the versionnumber in the galaxy, if the version is NOT t
sounds like a problem I see in windows relating to the upper & lower filter entries in the registry to do with the cdrom(dvdrw) drives that can happen when installing/uninstalling cd/dvd writing/copying software. when I challenge the pro I regedit & find upperfilter & check if it is in a cdrom entry, then delete the upperfilter & lowerfilter entries, & repeat. then goto device manager & delete the opto drive & search for new hardware. this routine usually f

I have just confermed a bug in the map updater, and will attack when I can asap harpo
I would suggest right mouse click on the impulse icon then click on properties, then click on compatibility tab then near the bottom of the window put a tick in administrator rights, then click ok and try again harpo
personally I use the free zonealarm withavast antivirus, and I have had no problems. another user is using zonealarm security suite and also had problems, so might be one of the more advanced modules in zonealarm pro/suite that is causing the incompatibility thank you harpo
I think that ironclad might have a tool similar to mine with the next official mod kit. harpo
if debug & show errors are false and the maps that do not have templates then the maps work. just want to give further debugging harpo
new latest info the map updater is in alpha stage 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I might be able to release SOON!!!!! harpo
my quick testing was with winxp nvidia zonealarm free and windows764bit ati vista firewall control as zonealarm does not support windows7 or 64bit. I'll stop now before I start ranting harpo
from my basic testing not it does not access the internet on startup, and I set the firewall to block all access to networks by sins then started it , it started a bit slower, but operated normally, but I do not use zonealarm security suite because I prefer specialist software for each part of the defences, ie zonealarm free for the firewall, avast for the antvirus, spybot search & destroy adaware and spyware blaster for antispyware, and serveral antirootkit tools for antirootkits. fo
