FrickenMoron
My buttons especially for the internet game sometimes lag 30 seconds to a full minute. It's really irritating and I have no idea what causes this, since sometimes they work instantly.
I think he meant the dreadnought types, like the marza. those stay at 1
5 scout vessels cost 1000 credits, but can blow up structures that cost 800 and metal/crystal it'd be easier to just scuttle them and build 5 new ones
I've got to try that then. Sounds like a nasty idea to blow up other players trade ports/research labs early on.
i've actually thought if its a better idea to level several evacuators to level 6 somehow than taking the rather fragile planet bombers in your fleet... i mean 3 of them could drop a 4500 hp planet in 30 seconds, thats a record kind of. and would give you tons of ressources.
These are biased from my own playing experience, so please take this advice with care. TEC: Pro: -easy to access imo -good economy since you get trade stations with 2 research stations -very cheap LRM frigates -great repair units -Many armor researches for durability Con: -Don't really excell at anything -Arguably the worst strikecraft of any faction -Culture effect not THAT useful Advent: Pro: -
Having some light frigates in your fleet for their abilities is a good idea tough, especially as advent or TEC. Advent disciples drain/give back antimatter and the TEC frigates prevent enemy ships from using anti matter abilities.
I'm gonna try this with TEC scouts actually next time... do they die too when setting explosives or can they move on? 10 scouts cruising through undefended enemy backwater planets could cause a real lot of damage...
Also you wont win any maps with owning just 2 planets... if you turtle that much it wont get you anywhere.
I almost always use the evacuator and start off with colonize and pick the -armor ability second. its cheap, lasts quite a while and does good damage over time. It never disappointed me so far as a first cap ship.
for me starting out by buying crystal from black market, upgrading the homeworld to lvl 4, buying the colony cap ship and taking colony lvl 1 ability is the way to go for all races against the AI. after that try to tech to something useful quickly, like LRMS & trade stations as TEC, assailants as vasari etc. get an asteroid asap and upgrade its people size but dont build anything except the mining buildings. As a Vasari stop your scouts in any hostile free neutral no planet map that has
You need at least 1 broadcast center. and i stand corrected, they actually DO start at 10% below max. thats a really weird gameplay mechanism that goes against logic imo.
dude have you even checked what you are saying? culture DOES raise it your home planet gets 110%, planets 1 away get 100% instead of 90% like it was before.
it DOES raise the cap, advent can raise it by another 10% :V
the broadcast center raises it by 10% ONCE and also raises all planets allegiance cap where the "culture" stream moves to.
this strategy does not work with any race probably, except against the AI TEC probably have the most simple start in that regard since they get easier access to income increasing structures than the other races and get more "buffs" for survivability and repair drone upgrades. Remember that any human player would just ignore your frontline defense and rush through if he wants to attack you.
Yeah I thought of limiting their range too. It just doesnt seem all that possible that a cannon from the other end of a star system can cover such a huge distance. or for example make the novalith cannon lose power over distance.
vasari fleet cap is 2300
ah crap, of course i meant the vasari phase gates, those dont work with culture.
I've got mixed feelings about Dark fleet. on one side it ís very useful and certainly something to look forward too, but also too easily abuseable in team games where other players just have to feed the vasari a bit for a quick and painless tech to phase gates & dark fleet. Also you can scuttle the ships you get from it for free money :V My personal suggestions would be: Returning Armada only spawns ships you actually have researched RA ships can't be scuttled
No it doesnt spread through phase lanes. Also A broadcast station spreads infinitely long, but the more jumps it does the slower the spread becomes. TEC has a research to counter that at least a bit. but usually if you want to spread your culture a lot to hostile territory it's a good idea to build a lot of media hubs on the frontline planets. A fully kitted desert planet can pump out up to 60 culture/sec depending on reasearch/artefacts, almost impossible to push that back unless they
TEC has increased anti matter regeneration in culture. Also culture spreads faster the more stations you have try filling a desert planet with culture stations only and watch the lines grow FAST. esp when you have the culture artifact and a culture bonus on said planet...
I just tried out dark fleet teching for the first time and it worked like a charm. I can see it as being especially overpowering in multiplayer if the other allies feed you to build up even more quickly. I mean come on, you get ships for free and can scuttle them for money if you need to do so.
check the research > Fleet logistics section its quite expensive, also your second cap ship will cost 3000/400/250 so think of that in advance.
