i understand it wasent an accident. i was refering to how u can back up them just incase u ever do accidentally delete them .. or onpurpose delete them .. the stored files wount be used by your pc til u tell it to ...but is a safe and easy way to fix booboos....the prob with reinstalling with a windows disk is that alot of times it will re write all the system files back to the defaults ..so any prog that made registry changes or other system file changes now is null and void...also u may loose

hehe actually u can make duplicates of them and put them in a folder .. and if u ever accidentally delete them u can use the task manager to browse ur pc and acess the explorere.exe from there then copy the stored files back to their proper folders ...

or u can rt clik on the file select open with/ choose program.in the popup window look for desktop x and select it if is there .. if not use the browse button to go to the desktopx folder and select the desktopx.exe. that will also tell your pc to associate the files with desktopx ...

start desktop x rt clik on desktop select load new theme or theme browser. i cant remember which it is ... in the browser thers a button to browse ur pc to find a theme use it to find the theme u have and select it .. that should install it in to the DX browser window .. then u can slect the theme and hit apply ..

i have a 19" crt flat screen but the response time is way to long for my gaming 28ms it actually stutters running games and dvd's(cant believe he got sukerd in to buying this thing)but for $50 i cant gripe ..i read and article where they tated that to get the best gaming performance a fast rise and fall time was the key.. it didnt mater wether it was a lcd or a crt as long as the rise and fall were within specs.. my current monitor goes up to 1600x1024 but its so slow in responce time that it st

ok i cant help with the theme manager but the bmp is a wallpaper. rt clik on ur desk top choose properties, thenback ground tab.. then theres a browse button at lower right side .. use it to search for the folder containing the bmp. then select the bmp u want to use and hit apply ...the DX pac is for those who run desktop X.. if u have desktopx then just dbl clik the pack and it will autoinstall to the desktopx.. if u dont have desktopx then its basically a extra file u cant use ...

if u stop the explorer.exe it will restart automatically if u reboot .. if u deleted it then ud need to open task manager and look for it in your pc...then copy it to the folder u deleted it from....windows will stay runnning with out the explorer. but ud need either the explorer shell or the litestep shell to easily acess any files ...

actually it depends on the maker and what the monitor was built for .. theres different monitors for different applications .. i look for rise and fall times ...those are the the responce times needed by gamers to get a fast monitor. typically most monitors are abt 20-25 ms rise and fall.. i try to buy at 15-16 ms rise and fall... also the faster response time the smoother things like dvd's and games run.

hehe no its lcd.. but yes the resolution isnt the highest. but the performance is supposed to be killer.. im a gamer more than i work on graphics .. speed is every thing ...if u have a sugestion on a better performing monitor .. im all ears

are u kidding the monitor i want runs abt $4000 the whole system is going to run close to $8000...alienware stuff aint cheap .. but worth the $...now how to convince the misses i need a 30" lcd monitor ......
