As iTZKooPA said, cheers to Stardock. But let's not put dark waters in front and faith, eh? But I know a minimum of RTS adventure of the industry... Many tries, many flops. I was especially saddened to learn that Dune would NOT become a massive online world. Direct your planet: awesome. Imagine the potential power-politics, considering that Frank Herbert knew more than enough about Niccolo Machiavelli's Prince, or the Illiad, or all the rest which permeated Dune. All the mega-influentia

Perhaps I should mention OGame http://ogame.org/ as it is "strategy" AND "real-time based". Maybe there are lessons to get from them, albeit in a limited way... Anyway, for all of you, the game seems nice!
Go Stardock! I guess they know why their supporters really believe in their stuff but let's reiterate: CariElf! Anyway, I also really like what I see. Never do something with style when you can do it with substance. Everyone should remember: massive multiplayer RTS is no easy thing: all tried, all failed. See Wik
My thought on the matter: Great, I'll be able to extend the (silly) trend of Dadaism with planet names as "This is an apple"
I like good / evil since it represents a vision of things on so many aspects. Especially including long term view versus short term one where you scrap things to get something right now. But if another axis can be done correctly, who knows... Interventionist / isolationist? This is something very present in the world. In US history especially, but it could also be said of British, Japan, China (China got its whole fleet destroy to stop commercial expansionists). I also was said that Sca
For some reason, posts sent 6 days ago (such as "Diplo: So much from so little") are on the "Recent Posts" while some sent one or two days ago are not on these recent posts. Is this normal as it updates once a week or is this an anomaly?...
It seems like there's some new kid on the block permitting to rent a game by internet. I think it would be nice if GalCiv (Altarian Prophecy and GC2) could be rented since it is a good evil ploy to get people hooked. Give them a cheap dose Here's abaout GameTap: http://www.slyck.com/news.php?story=762
It started with me thinking about my other thread about Empire Earth 2, and how it could coherently be in GalCiv2. This might not be possible to bring in, but who knows. Alliances hardly have a limit in "time" normally, but rather in "objective must be accomplished". Just as NATO was for beating Communists. But NATO is still there and was never disolved, and here's how... Basically, alliances can ALWAYS be broken, but consequences await, including for repu
Here's my last word considering the situation, and anything done will fit me. I never played Acsendancy (looks like I should give a look), but I am not worried about miracle start-ups anymore as it seems solved anyway. And I'm now half-convinced on the rest (as I saw ships as minimalist: a bunch of tents with food production and shovels). It is then more an issue of a weak(er) colony which is building itself in the beginning, like colonies up to now. I will state my case basing
Well apparently it does... but the non-multiplayer game is really just a taste of what it really becomes with the hindsighted backstabbing and strategy of humans. The reviewer at GameSpy said that the AI was more useful as a tutorial for the player to grasp and manage EA2's complexity. But while the AI might be a problem, I remember very well that one of GalCiv's surprising strength (compare to other games) is exactly that: its capacity to handle things "intelligently". So
Here I resume (below) a great GameSpy article about EA2 (Empire Earth 2). To resume, the EA2 options of diplomatic agreements are: 1- durations 2- LOS sharing (so you see other's armies) 3- border permission, and 4- ressource tariff But from this few and simple rules... so much fun and so many strategic options come in: <TABLE cellpad
Lucky you And you are doubly lucky because now is seemingly the most awesome month of the decade up to now for RTS players: Age of Empires III is announced everywhere and Empire Earth II just got its review from GameSpy (http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/empire-earth-2/606973p1.html)
I have a simple system at home: Athlon 700, 256 RAM, 32MB graphic card, sound blaster card... And paying a few grands would not make it play GC2 alot better :hot: My 2 cents, gaming systems: It really depends. 2-3000$ for a super-console is quite expensive. It's TWENTY PS2, lots of working hours, perhaps your child's private education, a student's yearly rent, or lots of food If you also u
Adding a "Basic Infrastructure" building stage before you can get your planet producing useful stuff slows down the game needlessly. There is no fun added by introducing a delay between colonizing and production. The colony rush isn't really a possibility as the game stands since you need a starport, then a large factory base to build quickly.
It seems like a part of the gameplay issue is arranged, but I still see the use of colonies automatically building "Basic Infrastructure" before anything else. Just as all colonies in the past took some time before they could really go onto some more advanced structures. It might not be extremely long to get a minimum, but still pertinent. It normally takes a while before everything is arranged to tackle further matters, and it'd include this period where you need to wait its preparati
[irony mode] You wish to colonize Pluto. It's a long way from Earth. So, what do you do? - Send a colony ship with 2 000 000 humans on it - Then once arrived they produce another ship instanteneously and put 1 500 000 humans on it - Do like this on each planet until you reach Pluto [/irony mode] How can this strange phenomenon be solved easily? How can the hardship of colonizing harsh environments be included, with the needs to buil
Happy birthday! Do you think that we will be able to play Pong while waiting for diplomatic answers?
Which race's ships is your son designing?
Fuzzy... do you know what infitesimal proportion of gamers that actually look at the medium or advanced level topics that are included inside SMAC and Civ3? Do you realize that GC2's primary distribution manner will be online? If you sell a game primarily online, it wouldn't be unusual to think players will go to your web site to look f
Hi, When (approximately) will TotalGaming.net start its phase 2? I don't know when I would put the money to it, so I ask. In May? In the next few months? Around July?... Thx
Happy Easter!! Do you sell chocolate Drengins?
