Sometimes the best offense is a good defense ... as with the other posts, make sure you are upgrading your infrastructure. Another tactic you could try is to select all of your units and attack the capital class ships first. If you are focusing your fire power, you can take down larger ships faster. OF course, when in doubt bring more units to the fight to overwhelm your enemy. Good luck!
