What if you gave the pirates something such as an artifact or even a spare planet you own and they would ally with you for a set time? You would be exempt from having to out bid the other players in such time. Maybe even help along with one of their raids? And your fleet becomes ONE for awhile. You could give direct orders to the pirates as if they were your ships?
wbino
Neutrals need to have turrets and hanger bays also, maybe mines.
i dunno, with recent new learnings from another thread i may use superweapons again... though i do thin its odd that advent can put two super weapons in a GW but vasari cannot, despite the same tactical slot requirements. I think the AI should be allowed to put starbases in neutral gravity wells. The fact that I can easily dominate a game by parking an orkulus in a plasma storm, or 4 in a star is silly considering that the AI could have do
I may be the only one who thing letting the Ai build Superweapons is a bad thing.
If the ai cant build superweapons, the devs wasted alot of time creating them considering 90% of people play sins single player.
Can someone explain to me why the ai building superweapons is such an obstical?
Ive been wondering the same thing. locking teams also makes diplomatic research useless. I wonder if locking teams will completely void all diplomatic research completely or if some will still have a purpose?
I also play w/ locked teams and was wondering the same thing.
can you bump yourself?
The problem is also in single player....when you set it to random, I play as tec only, if I were to set it to random there is a chance that the ai would ALSO choose tec. My single player "stories" don't envolve tec vs tec. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] You should be able to set to random but NOT THE SIDE YOUR PLAYING. This way I would'nt know whether I'm up against vasari or advent until I meet them.
Tired of beating a dead horse, but an ai that can build its superweapons would be a MAJOR improvement.
I find the AI in entrenchment to be a major step backwards in terms of been a challenge compared to vanilla sins. The AI is terrible at assaulting starbases not just player owned ones but other AI owned starbases. The AI wastes far to much resources on starbases not just in building them but also tech and upgrades and where are these resources taken from? Its taken from their fleets, I have yet to see an AI fleet that was anywhere
I agree about the assault specialization, but it's the AI's fault on choice of targets. The offensive SB doesn't really need weapons, just a presence with another fleet which is why it has the phase stabilizer option to bring in a new fleet quickly. AIs have only so many options to choose from and doesn't really know how to change it's strategy other than running away to regroup.
Any ideas about ai n
I'll say it again, Vasari NEED a anti structure ship just so the ai has a way to fight your starbases. The vasari ai doesnt know that it's anti structure unit is it's starbase, plus it takes to long to build against a decent player. Plus fix the ai not building superweapons please!
How many more units of Sins would Ironclad sell if it was available on steam? Impulse is nice but doesnt have an eigth of an customer base.
AI still doesn't make superweapons? [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Whens beta start?
OK As someone who does'nt play MP, what's feeding?
The fact that Sins does not have a campaign allows you to keep coming back for more and create a different game each time.
Heck, I just hope nobody at Stardock (or anywhere, but considering where I'm posting this ...) picked up the h1n1 virus that was going around there (seriously). That was scary to see on the website, but I suppose it's just a matter of time until we see that more often. So far everyone seems clear of it
How about adding diseases to gameplay? really....................

Well hey, I'm as excited as anyone about Diplomacy and can't wait to play it, but flaming Ironclad and Stardock for not revealing everything there is to reveal is shortsighted and it isn't going to help. They aren't going to reveal things that aren't set in stone, as it ope
Quoting Tkins, reply 8So nothing was announced? No info? I've been scrounging all the gamesights I can and not one mention, no article at all on Diplomacy. Guess I won't be buying it That's some very odd reasoning..
I think everyone is showing some level of frusration to the lack of info. BTW me thinks.... the use of 'betas" is far to prevalent in game development, hire more people to test your game THEN releas
Another thought is that a different publisher hung a ton of money in front of IC's face and this is their way of ending their deal with Stardock. [e digicons]:cylon:[/e]
I'm guessin the $ 9.95 wasn't covering development costs.
What if pirates ONLY attacked trade ships and civiian targets? Pirates would know it would be suicidal to go against an empire.
