Its just like how people think TAR is OP
Same thought here. Players are going to exploit one mode of play or another, and yeah it makes online an irritating venture. I can't think of an RTS in which I've seen every player perform as the game most clearly intended. There's always some eye-rolling trick they can't help but deploy. When I had this strategy used against me by a VL player,

May I just say this is an awesome mod? After playing Entrenchment Requiem, this is an enormous improvement. The graphics are great and I like what I see for the ships so far (granted it's just the Empire at the moment). In the Entrenchment mod the ships struck me as too small. As much as I do love what you guys have adopted from other Lucasarts titles (did I hear an X-Wing Alliance pilot? :D ), I do wish that in the Entrenchment version hadn't been so t

Do this, if they're like level five or over. You might need to babysit them (retreat into a safe zone before returning, keep them out of a big patch of turrets) but it's not likely.

I have similar problems, it's not just with The Advent Rebels at all. Sometimes only the fighter/bombers, sometimes frigates and capital ships included. I chalked it up to shortcomings of the engine - not being able to process a high number of protocols - but now that I think of it, I don't remember it before Rebellion.

There are a few replacements I know of, but I probably have the exact opposite taste as you. The TEC look good to me, the Advent look like goofy cartoons and the Vasari look like they're trying too hard to be menacing.

I'll help with a bump and add a demagogue's speculation: is there a way to politicize this to accuse the game makers of favoring or disfavoring a faction? Let's find out!
Twin Fortress is stupid broken the only actual way to get past it is to culture spam the enemy. Starbase Mobilization is broken so why can culture not be? I deal them a few hundred missiles and they explode violently in what I can only imagine as a futuristic media fiasco. <

But your notion sounds cooler by far.

^ E: If "Inciteful" wasn't a misspelling, that's actually pretty clever. If it was a misspelling, it's one of the most Serendipitous ones I've ever seen. The TEC struck me as the losers this time around, and I admit right up front that it could just be my playstyle. While I flourished in the first game (and Entrenchment) as the TEC, in this game I can't seem to break muster. The titans are middling, especially the Loyalist one and I can't se
Could anyone explain it to me?
I can. Go ahead and build some space stations in your orbits and enable the auxiliary government compartment. It prevents you from losing a planet when it gets bombed to 0 population. You should be getting this tech at around the same time as the TECs deploy their cannons, so shift gears before going too far into the offensive. As a specific defense agains

For mods. I use a Star Wars mod that's popular over in this forum's mod section. As I understand it, they either won't be updating it for Rebellion, or it's gonna be a beast to update due to the new skin / mesh parameters. If you're not into mods, then yeah I'd say uninstall.

I have trouble against the Advent too, when I play TECs. I have to wear them down with run-and-gun tactics, and when they're shaken enough, I figure it

Yeah, I had to build a starbase in my ally's homeworld because they were becoming a hot-spot attraction for enemy titans, fleets, and new age musicians. Also I've run into turbulently defended dwarf planets on the way to a capitol with some patches of mines and a couple strike craft docks. It would make more sense if they better fortified their homes.

I think the starbases should arrive in unfriendly territory without shields / antimatter, and their engines should be expensive. Other than that I can't complain. I've not had any problems with Vasari in this game. But then, I'm a really defensive player. oh, as for the corvettes, all you have to do is click on a circle. They're really not that hard to click. If you still feel disabled from clicking on their icon, you c

I like it a lot. Diplomacy is the only expac that I "skipped," and once Trinity came to Steam I bought it anyway. Diplomacy turned out to be a fine expansion, it just wasn't in step with what I wanted from a game. I don't see how Rebellion doesn't deliver, though. You've got new classes of ships, rearranged tech trees, subfactions, and shinier hulls. If only one of the above made it in, then I'd see cause for complaint. T

How about a starbase solution? Give the pirates an 8-point starbase with an auxiliary government compartment? That way you could still bomb them to pieces, but you'd have to invade them if you wanted them to perish.
That's the evil of Steam. It will auto update your games if you don't specifically turn it off (though the update from 0.96 to 1.01 might have been forced as it was the release version). Double check to make sure you turned that setting off. And sorry for your loss.
Actually yeah, Steam tends to update games even when I tell it not to. Even when I take it offline. You know what this means. Soon, the Stea
