Two questions I hope you guys can answer. 1. How do I track down the unique ships? I know there are at least 3 in my present game but I don't remember where they are. Searching the news or ship database doesn't help. 2. How the heck do I solve the code-box text adventure? I came so close to matching the sample pattern but ran out of moves. The instructions are not very clear, are we supposed to create two loops of mirrored numbers?

Being hit by a speeding piano is a very real possibility, once you start meddling with the warp. And you'd be lucky if that piano doesn't try to eat you in a cacophony of wild tangents after falling out of the warp.
I would still be more worried about the fruit. If the spell was cast in a cold enough climate the watermelons could fr
So when one side gets ahold of a superunit, all of the related anti-superunits would naturally migrate to the enemies of that side?
You mean put a limit on the amount of elite units you can have at one time so that you can't steamroll your enemy with an unstoppable all elite army MoM style?
Had someone else upload for me and it worked. Some of the newer posts still don't list an avatar but the older posts in the EWoM forums all have the new fire crystal image. I figure that will fix itself with time. Thanks for the help guys.
Plus if magic is powered entirely by magic you could remove the visual component entirely. Why bother making a visible fireball when it wastes energy and reveals your location when you fire it? Now if you conjured an actual ball of real fire, then the visual component would be unavoidable.
Its not an MMO but if you want a game that can consume your world you could try Dwarf Fortress.
If you are truly desperate you could always try Runescape. [e digicons][/e]
Lots of games try to be realistic but to be honest none of our computer hardware is capable of rendering graphics realistic enough to fool our eyes just yet. If you aim for a goal then you can achieve a high degree of graphical realism but if you reach too far then you end up with three things. Brown, Bloom and Boring.
My point was, magic doesn't make sense. To use magic in any sort of setting whether it be a game or a story you have some explaining to do. In a closed enviroment you are free to make magic as crazy as you want as long as you keep it consistent. If you declare that in your world mana = fruit, then if you come across a mad guy holding an apple you can safely assume that a fight is brewing. The problem is we have an open system. The vast majority of gameplay is going to be dependant on user gen
But you're still breaking physics, trust me! You're adding energy into the world that doesn't behave like energy should
Thats the point of the laws. Magic is mundane energy (or matter) that is created out of nothing and becomes nothing once we lose control over it. While the magic is active or "real" it behaves to the tune of normal physics. So knocking over a trash can with my foot would require a transfer of kinetic energy.
IE7 doesn't work for me. And my Linux machine can't run IE. I suppose all I can do now is get a friend or mod to do it. [e digicons]>_>[/e] This is the avatar I am trying to upload btw. In case there is anything wrong with it. http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/3941/elementalcrystalfireli6.png
The upload link on wincustomize does work but it would not let me upload the 100X100 medallion avatar from the Elemental forums. It said the upload suceeded but the file got corrupted and the max size was 50X50. So I tried uploading a tiny test picture and it worked. So I went back over to the elemental forum and tried to upload the medallion there. Again the remove button got rid of the old avatar without problems but then the upload button still doesn't work properly.
Tried again with the linux computer, no luck. The second attempt jumped from 48% to 100% then froze again. The upload is complete but evidently whatever stores the file is away or sleeping. I tried multiple Stardock forums with the same result. I left it alone at 100% for 10 minutes this time, no luck. If no one else has trouble then the problem could be on my side of the connection but I can't imagine what the problem could be. These computers use Flash 9 and 10, but I heard that onl
Double boo to the hard drives! I recently lost one just 1 day after its RMA return limit.
Hi guys, recently there were some new pictures posted in the Elemental forums. I tried to update my old crystal avatar with the new picture of the fire crystal but I ran into some problems. In the account page the "remove" button worked fine and dumped my old avatar. However clicking on the "upload" button does nothing. I was told that the forums have trouble with Flash 10 which I am currently using. So I fired up my linux computer which uses older firefox 2 and an older version of fl
You're making leaps that I don't follow. The ability for magic to permanently alter the state of the universe in no way would mean magic needs to be free. There can be a whole lot of rules that govern what can and can't be done with magic, even if magic can break energy conservation.
And those laws are? If magic was free I could say "I am going to cast a spell that will teleport the entire planet into the sun" and you have to co
Ah thats probably it, firefox is currently using Flash 10.
And that's why I find that arguing the laws of thermodynamics or "Ice needs water" is over-the-top nitpicking - granted, raising the argument of thermodynamics by myself was in itself a counter-argument against an argument that was voided in it's inception because I already said Heat and Cold, but who's counting?
Ice is simply a water crystal. If not water then what substance is your ice composed of? The perfectly acceptable answer
Hmm, thats strange. I was trying to upload the new fire crystal medallion to use as an avatar but the button in the account menu that says "upload" doesn't work when I click on it. The remove button worked just fine so now I have no avatar and can't set a new one. Is something wrong server-side? Edit: I seem to remember using flash to upload last time. My computer has been crashing a lot recently and I just had to replace a lot of system files. Is it possible that my flash plu
One game I have my eye on is Armada Online. Armada was an old dreamcast game but two of the developers purchased the property outright and are now making an mmo out of it. Its quite fun but there is not much to do as of yet because the game is very much in alpha testing.
Well when you think about it, pyromancy and cryomancy are the same thing, manipulation of heat or the lack of it which amounts to the same thing. The problem with ignoring the laws of physics is that things no longer make any damn sense. To give you a classic example, the ever burning torch. First of all, normal fire is a combination of flame, air and fuel. Knock off one of those from the trio and you no longer have what can be considered an open flame. Most o
great stuff!
The way I see it, pyromancy has nothing to do with fire. Fire is the logical result, but creating fire is not as efficient as creating heat. Heat is predictable and invisible. Fire on the other hand means combustion, there must be some sort of fuel involved or there will be no flame. Conjuring fuel and the heat to ignite takes more effort then conjuring heat alone. Also you can't forget the laws of thermodynamics. Even in a fantasy setting with magic involved the rules of physics stil
