I saw this also and ticketed it. My post is somewhere in support...you should probably move your thread there. Just edit it and change one line labelled "category" in the title to "support".

After reading your readme I got the Kujo to work. Wow. Reading is Power! Thanks. Perhaps that is how I should approach the others.....you think? EDIT: when I download the other three: faxvi, judgement..., and mirrion..., I get a faction file and the pictures for the submission, not the portraits etc, that go into the factions file. So those I can't handle. Can someone give me a slap upside my head, what am I missing?<
I haven't looked at all the submissions but several have a mod folder in them. The directory structure doesn't look consistent in the zips. But, you find that zip that has subfolders (Game, gfx, text, etc) in them. And unzip that and place into your Mods folder. Does that make sense?
Yes, but others have a different structure and clearly I am not doing those correctly.

Also curious as to the correct install procedure, as I had to make Angry Joe by hand. Doesn't look obvious on inspecting the factions directory of my games/galciv3. I have managed to just drop some of them into the my game/galciv3/mods directory (unzipped). But others don't work.
The invasion bug is that when you invade and get the initial invasion screen, when you hit the "invade" buttom...black screen of death. About 60% of the time. So I recommend a save just before you invade the first few times in case you have it, to make it easier to document. I agree about no freezes (none for about a month at least) no crashes (except the invasion thing) and generally very smooth play. An

I have gotten about 200 turns into an immense game, and it seems time to say something about how the AI is doing and about the faction graph. I am playing as Iconian immense, on normal, with 19 major opponents and some minors. I have seen about 30% of the galaxy I guess so far. I am not using any tricks (like getting constructors from pragmatic and upgrading to colony) and I have not purchased any buildings or ships outright. My situation is shown in the graph. &n

SD does have one advantage --- they have a large and hard working group of testers --- but that's not the real advantage --- they listen to them and work the stuff they send in. We shall see, it could go either way. My point on release is only that they know best, so I am not going to worry about it. Just keep catching those flies (er bugs).

I have seen two issues with invasions. Wondering if others have seen these. 1. Very often on starting the invasion (from the invasion screen) the screen just goes black. This one I have ticketed. 2. Not sure about this one: I have researched information warfare, but I don't get the option to use it on invasion...or am I just missing something? I will watch more closely on next chance and will ticket it if I bec
I disagree it got great previews, not reviews. Anyway I'm happy to put my fingers in my ears and pretend that the game has no bugs, glitches, flaws or broken parts. But I looked at some of those "Reviews" and they acknowledged there where issues with the Beta that would no doubt be fixed by release. If they aren't that will have an impact, I remember similar discussions of Elemental before it's release on the boards

I have two thoughts. 1) What was the state of the game Beta 4? Beta 5? Beta 6? ONE DAY after beta 6 (re hotfix for 4gb people)? Fifteen days to go. Let me extrapolate...see where I am going? 2) The guys deciding on this have collectively many decades of experience with their careers and their reputations on the line for their flagship game. Huh, wonder if they might have a clue what they are doing? Well, no pro
Okay I've gone through the tree and found four specializations where mutual exclusivity should be given deeper consideration: 1. Warfare - invasion optimization. The first person to research this can have his research nullified because the opponents can research the defensive counter 2. Warfare - defensive focus. The first person to research this can have his research nullified because opponents can research an offen

Fairly often now I see missing Parts in the bottom log in the ship designer. I might add a second point which is hard to capture ---- namely that when I try to highlight one of these parts (to perhaps delete it, for example) often I can't highlight the last part in the row. The brackets auto move to the next item to the left. I have submitted a ticket with save and support tool. <img style="vertical-align: bottom;" src="https://www.dropbox.com
Alphaprior, I am not a fan so much of the lock out on specialization, however its not really a big deal. It really isnt. Fire up a game, go big and by turn 150 or so if there is a specialization you want that you did not get, just buy it from one of the factions. I 'picked' better accuracy for my weapon specialization which gives like .01 to your accuracy, but I also really wanted miniatu

Having to choose at certain points isn't that big of an effect on the total research time. What is really needed (and I agree with this 100%) is to be able to slow research down. Well, it has to be done carefully, because there can be side effects. But to me this is the way. This reminds me of civ 4 and civ 5. I always played on the next slower mode down from "normal" so the units would stay useful for a significant time, and not be outdated befor
