We had so many good cartoons. My favorite was Angry Beavers. What do we get nowadays? "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea!" (for the record I like some of the seasons of SpongeBob. Sometimes I swear it's like watching monty python. In other seasons, the show is so dumbed down for kids that I feel my IQ lowering [and i do change the channel])

I have to wonder why the Devs pulled the "Not every developer gets involved on forums like this" card when they were incredibably involved when the game first came out! You can't go cold turkey like that for six months and not expect some relapse by the community! Back on topic: you can bet your ass I'll be reading quite thoroughly what changes are being made in Diplomacy. Between college/boozing/school work and Sins, diplomacy needs to be quite enticing for me to choose

Holy Crap. A dev. Stardock has a pulse. Not good. NOT GOOD. It's a sign of the apocalypse. Get your guns! Get your zombie survival kit! Aim for the head! It's a zombie! Only zombies can be lifeless for over 6 months and then come back to life like this!

I can't speak for Eadtaes or Mindseye, but my mod guarantees neutrals in everything but magnetic clouds. I may tone it down a bit. (I put 'em in black holes too...that might have been excessive). Still, it's a start.

On this forum, what takes a normal post from just normal to a hot post with the flame beside it?

*epic bump* I stumbled upon this. Figured I'd give it an epic bump. Little disturbing that over a year later we're basically back to square one. I made this post about three months after the game came out and the Illums got their buff in version 1.05 for orignal sins. Little scary.

Worst I've seen? Having only one phase lane that leads to an allies homeworld. That's the ultimate map screw.... Your points about dead asteroids aren't lost on me. I get it. I just hate it when everything near you just absolutely bones you. It's no fun. It's like being told to run the 400 meter dash after getting whacked in the shins with a metal bat. You can still do it, and probably will do it out of pride, but there's someone up in the stands just going "Jesus, why the hel

Yes, but I have the power of GOD behind me. Electricity? Who needs electricty? We have the force of thousands of god empowered amishmen with raving pitchforks, muskets, and torches. Our women sew quilts that are used as straight jackets on your avatar. They are stewn with the hair of jesus, so they are unbreakable. Our horses give you a kick to the face that even Chuck Norris can't top, yes, I said it, we are that powerful.

Dare I say it, this one might come off as wierd Kol Battleframe (Hands Down Toughest Cap in the Game) 1. Colonize from the Mothership (This is the most powerful ability in the game imo, indirectly this makes Advent so powerful). You can get level 3 before you coloinze your fourth planet. 40% off ur planet upgrades is powerful so early. 2. Missile barrage...for obvious reasons 3. Telikinetic Push : AKA The Halcyon Bitch Slap of Doom 4. Flux Field (Lvl 6
It doesn't bring much to the table combat wise, but then again, neither do the Rapture or the Dunov. Utter Bullshit. ALL rapture's abilities are combat related. One reduces enemy effectiveness. One increases your own fighters' effectiveness - always. The next causes enemy ships to deal more damage to themselves than they do to your ships. And the final one just takes enemy ships away from him and gives them to you, *snap*

Darvin pretty much nailed it. Getting a planet, whatever 2 pop upgrades, and buying just the mines is one of the most efficient ways to spur an economy. I do this up until I get to the planets that have the 25% allegiance. I tend to be pretty low in credits early with any race mainly because I don't invest in credit producing incomes. Tradeports and planet pop upgrades are expensive. Mines are dirt cheap. I typically get up to about 5 metal and 5 crystal per second before I think about rade p

Sins was released before it was technically done. The "beta release" of entrenchment is where the game finally came together. TEC fighters I think were the only strikecraft that were done completely when they released the original sins. I definitely know Advent fighters/bombers weren't. I guess giving the TEC the most badass looking bomber isn't enough eh?

I think somewhere in the lore section it mentions that advent use the crystals as a source of their psionic powers, and one of the reasons they're on their crusade is because their sources of crystal are running dry.

I'm a little surprised at the lack of love for the Marauder. Don't get me wrong. It doesn't bring much to the table combat wise, but then again, neither do the Rapture or the Dunov. The basic order for capital ships in each race is get the colonizer 1st and the seige cap 2nd or vice versa. Advent is the exception at times. I prefer a radiance over the Revelation. And good lord. The Devastator? Who out there is actually defending this thing? I know it's bugged, but even so, this thing

I'm a bit all over for games. Sins. COD4. Mechwarrior (So looking forward to the next one). Those are just a sampling. I occassionally dip back into older games. Populous: The Beggining. SimCity 2000. I'm definitely looking for a decent monitor. I'll try some of the recommended sites. Thanks guys.

Good Point. I'll narrow it down a bit. I'm looking to buy everything at once. I'd rather it be a system that comes preassembled, and yes, it'll be for gaming. To give you an idea of the direction I'm going, I took a look at the Dell website to see what kind of gaming computers they had, but figured I'd like to do some poking around with other companies and what they offer. Let's rule out me putting the computer together or installing the OS. I'm not that computer savy. I just

I've been playing on a 17" screen laptop for too long. I'm not going to go out and drop $2000 on a monster top end PC. I don't have that kind of money, and don't think I could ever bring myself to drop that kind of money on a computer. I've been looking and it sounds like spending just 500$ could get me a better system than what I got on the laptop. 2 Ghz Dual Core Processor 2 Gb of RAM 256 MB VideoCard 64 bit Vista I know it's not going to be h

Why bother? if you're seriously being novalithed, you've either been: A. Surprised by a sudden attack of 8 novaliths and are unprepared. You're basically dead. B. Abundantly prepared, you have a starbase practically at every planet and have researched so no planet can be lost. I ask why bother with the shield generator if you have starbases that are available earlier in the game and do a better job? Cost? If your enemy has novaliths, that means you are still aliv

If you know your enemy has kotsuras, you're going to want to keep your fleet near the edge of a gravity well and ready to jump. Yes. That much is true. The kotsura does not damage planets, so you needn't worry about that. The shield generator will go down to kotsura shots, but then again, so will any building. Here's the best option against a kotsura user: Take the fight to one of his planets. He can't use the Kotsuras there. As a matter of fact, Advent is the only race that c

I'm Just adding to Annatar If you actually see superweapons, that means you better either have a booming economy or a massive fleet. If SW's are out, that means big trouble that's going to be difficult to counter purely because of the logistics of getting to the superweapon to counter it. Novaliths If you're playing entrenchment, starbases have an ability (lower right hand corner on the box selection screen I believe

You know what? The only two standardizations I'm really looking for is to actually have the hard code of 1 asteroid and 1 Ice/Lava at least be standard, and get 1-2 neutrals per grav well, not 0-3. We have neither. Magnetic clouds can be dealt with. I get that. But seriously. Are you going to defend and say you're perfectly ok with having say 4-5 neutral containing systems that have NO neutrals? I don't want an overly huge change to the game. Most of the shit I said isn't crip
I know the maps need to stay random, but my issue is where it goes from "random" to "heavily favoring one player over another". It's that point where skill/experience means nothing.
I should stress this is my main point. I think the entire post boils down to this fact. This problem exists. It's not too common, but it's still common enough that it bothers me. I don't mind losing because someone's better. If that happ
