My friend Joe and I would like to start a PUG (pickup games) match channel for the Sins community because PUG matches have the potential to be much more fun than merely playing against random people online. What is a PUG match? Basically, it's similar to a clan match but without schedules, without obligations to play at certain times, and with teams composed of mixed players (often from different clans and/or the clanless). Some of the advantages are: <br style="color:
But, due to lack of marker design, with RA, you still need to spend alot of brain time scanning all your planets to "sweep up" your RA booty and put them somewhere useful rather then let them have a beer party doing nothing
Yeah, I wish it were possible to order newly-arrived RA ships to go to go to a certain location.
i play Vasari, and i feel badgoing RA is quite suicidal unless :-u play 1vs1 vs an easy AI computer-u play Very large map in FFA modeotherwise, u dead before your first "free" ship arriveso i only play ffa...and i do nothing except playing low profile while teching civics...i can't rush, i've to pray to avoid very agressive neighbourHmmmmm... Last night in a 2v2 I got RA in 18 minutes and had 6 gates + lvl 2 RA at the 25 minute mark. Yeah, that was certainly suicidal.
I
Hahaha, hey that's awesome. You know I'm a newbie player as far as MP goes and I'd be happy too with the experienced guys giving me a job to focus on... I love teamplay over and beyond whether it's MP or AI stomping anyways though, my tastes differ from some I think.
Don't you think you'd enjoy playing a more competitive game if you made an effort to balance the teams?
What if the host could set a pre-determined, 5min in-game pause ever 90 min? Even better: a pause window with 5min count-down pops up every 90min, and when each player clicks their over-ride button the play continues. I'd rather wait for someone to go crap/let the dog out/ grab another soda than have them quit!
Built-in potty breaks. Not such a bad idea, actually.
There is no such thing as scout rush, move along, nothing to see here.
Heh heh. I think I've figured out what Innociv and the Clan Xers were referring to in IRC...but we can let it remain our little secret.

What exactly is a scout rush? We know that scouts are great for exploration and, if you're Vasari, for capturing neutral extractors. But do they have any use in combat? What if you play Vasari or Advent and can't use that Level 3 TEC ability?

It seems to me that RA is all that really makes playing Vasari worthwhile because their ships are expensive and consume lots of fleet supply points. Am I wrong? It's really a builder race, IMHO.

I don't see any reason why Stardock shouldn't try to release the game for the PS3 and xBox. After all, Stardock employees gotta eat bring home the bucks too, right? I can more or less do just about everything I need to with the mouse which means that it should be possible to play the game with a game pad.

I've wondered the exact same thing. It sure would be useful and would reduce some micromanagement. It would also be neat to be able to set up an auto-salvage feature, as in, "automatically salvage any ship of class X that comes through this particular (or all) phase gate(s) as part of the returning armada."

The Vasari's biggest weapon is called Returning Armada (RA), which basically means, free ships and lots of 'em. However, it is somewhat expensive. (The phase stabilizers also allow you to move ships directly between gravity wells that have them.) You need to have two planets in order to build the needed 8 imperial research labs. So, one strategy might be to take your asteroid and to then capture a planet and try to build RA. Once you've researched RA (

Off the to of my head: Vasari advantages: Good tech tree. Bonuses to mineral production (via tech tree). Scout ships can capture neutral metal and crystal extractors. Vasari can research Returning Armada (RA) and have free ships. Vasari can use phase stabilizers to quickly move fleets across the galaxy. Enforcer cruisers kick arse and the Subverter cruisers are useful too. Vasari disadvantages: Ships are more expensive than for the other
