Graphically these things look GREAT! The limitation in them I like that you lose sensor range. But could it be possible to extend this to the fact, if you are not in the nebula that you cannot see everything through the nebula and all around the nebula. It should be block for sensors outside the nebula itself. (Kind of a line of sight problem) Treat the nebula like a sensor fog and give a line of sight that you cannot see through the nebula, only 1 layer range from outside. Thus, one

There is also a debug.err file in your documents\my games\galciv3\ you could look through that for some info. (or better yet post it)
IN order to post screenshots you need to host the picture from another place... like dropbox, then use that link in this forum.
The alpha looks great and runs fine on my machine. The debug.err file (since I know it contains all my system info for you to look through) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/75549875/GalCiv3/Alpha/debug/debug.err I only played for a little while, but wanted to say that I did encounter the font load error (followed instructions to get around it and it worked). The game looks good
Well that's a bummer. I'm pretty sure my i5 is dual core.
I know my core is I5 dual core, but has hyper-threading giving 4 "cores"... game ran fine (except that font problem set-up, which the instructions to get around it worked fine).
Time to wake up NorsemanViking... :)
don't forget the Adventurers Guild when discussing the operator 25 bit. That bug has been mentioned before (since about FE beta)
I do not know of anyway of doing this... it is a tedious way to build roads to say the least. I don't think there is an auto-cast button whenever one moves from a spot to another.
They said it comes out around 3:00 pm ET today
There are some issues on Steam's side of things, so we're probably looking at around 3pm ET today right now everyone. If it ends up being sooner, someone will post here.
Over in... https://forums.galciv3.com/452698/
What they would need is an I WIN button, that you press and the game will calculate if you would win, how the end outcome presents itself... it could even give you a finish story dialogue. It wouldn't be a guaranteed win, it should compute whether or not your military might / industry is capable of maintaining a prolonged engagement, against the meager might of the AI opponents. I'd have it only available as a research item, under "Advanced Military Simulation - Provides the 'I
We'll continue to refine this info as we gather data during the alpha.
Do we submit this data or are you gathering it through steam stuff...
Hmmm, should I rather go to get some sleep for 2 hours, come back and play the whole night?
Probably a good idea...I'm sure that the release won't be for another hour at least. ;)
My clever way of determining the time of release has failed... well don't forget to get lunch Island Dog.
Not having it on Steam isn't the same as not having it on your computer. I have both, but not on Steam.
That's true, but I don't see the evidence [e digicons]*_*[/e] Plus, I really want to know the answer to the second question.
What is the game play like in Age of Wonders (never played the series)?
Island dog, I'm highly disappointed... You don't have GalCiv I or GalCiv II installed on the computer... how can you do such a thing? Are you saying GalCiv III alpha is that good? By the way, what timezone will receive the midnight release of the game? (obviously released the March 28th @ midnight) I'd be happy with the longitudinal value.
I do like these stories and would like to see more when the time is right... So, let me get this straight, the Drengin ate the Thorians, and then Altared their diet? (Couldn't resist)
I would like to rework an AI mod, but the task will be daunting. Primal_Savage has shown some good values already on the AI, and I would like to extend this idea to the extreme, but I probably have to write a program to change all the XML for me. Take to long otherwise. I'm always willing to help out from time to time. From the looks of things Primal_Savage is as well ;)
Quoting Fate, reply 9 eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I don't know why, but I'm skeptical that would be accepted. lol
You should tone it down a bit... to ccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc ;)
Quoting ngcsubutterbar, reply 147 I want to know about release time too....................Thing is Steam has like a noon release time EST This isn't a steam store release thing so it won't necessarily follow the normal 10am PDT/1pm EDT release time.
But given the location of Stardock, it might coincide with the 10am PDT / 1pm EDT release time... just sayin'
I've encountered similar problems when adding things to the game. Might try putting the file (not changing the file) in the main folder / directory to see if the game modifier is catching there. I know there should be no difference, but could be a limit to the number of files being read.
I spent quite a bit of time posting this to the wiki http://elementalgames.org/w/index.php?title=Spells
Careful when using the combined attack as it ignores special damages. Say you had a fire sword that gives piercing damage like a sword but fire damage as well. The CombindedAttack will take the values of both the physical and fire and by the code above make all the damage physical. Hence, any creature immune to physical damage would not get damaged. Problem arises when using special abilities with spears and such against banshees. I had a fix for the impale, crush, and cleave last Apr
Obviously the star names and credit nick-names are at your approval, but if by the off chance the name is not acceptable is that a lost star name (nick name) altogether or will there be notification to resubmit a name. (No I'm not intentionally going to try to force this to happen, just curious on the what if side of things)
The stealth ability does not include their cities. Although, there are path finding issues that arise much to Brad's pain where monster camps near a city cannot target a city (they try, they should move, but they don't). So the monsters camped next to your city might be having that sort of problem, versus the other wandering monsters and can target your city and move to attack it.
