Killing all planets is not enough - they have to be unable to get back into the game. This means no planets and no colonising ships (cap or frig) After the last patch or so, the AI is more likely to surrender In MP, you need to eliminate all human opponents (by them dropping/quitting/surrendering) assuming that no AI started. If an AI is on the team, you need to eliminate all AI opponents
I think it would be sorta funny if the EU units each had random benefits and penalties. British tanks are heavily armored but slow while german tanks are pretty fast and light. the EU has lots of different millitary cultures in it so units that are from the Ukraine would be way different from French units, who would be different from Swiss units (Who wouldn't fight, and take every ones money)
Sounds like the original Red Alert
I am positive that shield mitigation is still applied even if the shields are down.
When you think about it, it does make sense - the shields are still regenerating, it's just that they have been reduced to 0 power. So the effect should still occur... That's what I get when bashing something out on my lunch break with no Sins to check things on :D

A few points/tips I would like to make (rather then pick holes etc...) TEC hull/armor is the strongest once you get the upgrades. These upgrades help everything - ships, strucutures and ships... AFAIK, shield mitigation still applied even if the shields are down (that is one that I am not 100% sure on...) The Vassari phase missile tech gives the missile a chance (up to 30% for full research) of skipping this so they do full damage against the hull, not a % due to shield mitiga

Make it unfair aggressor and you will have more luck. Easy is like fighting a wet paper bag and researcher means it is less likely to fleet up... However for a real challenge, do as suggested above and come play us online vs Ironclad Online. It might take you a few games to adjust, but it is sooooo much more fun....
Isreal has almost certianly been destroyed, or atleast removed from power prior to the start of the war
Haven't read the whole thing, but Israel is nuclear armed - they could glass 1/2 the arab countries and only the other nuc countries could do the same to them. I just can't see them rolling over...
Plus i believe players would rather play against the AI to speed the process up
It seems many people believe this. But it is often quicker to finish a game with humans then the AI e.g. I have played some 5v5 (all unfair AIs) when no one is on and the games go way longer then 5v5 online as 1) The game doesn't lag like SP does with the AIs running 2) Humans work together and don't do stupid stuff. End result is people die quicker then when playing

If you get the upgrade, the SB will stop you losing the planet. It can be bombed to 0 health, but you cannot lose it until the SB is blown up (Aux govt for TEC, can't remember the name for other races off the top of my head....)

It is a log of what was happening in the game when an error occured. The minidump is not the error itself as many people believe but rather an exception handling routine that fires when the error occurs to create the log file before exiting the game. From it the devs are able to determine information about the state of the game when it had the error. When you send the file to them, the idea is they then use it to work out why your game had an error.

I was online the other day. Some guy with 0 games was challenging me to a 1v1. My initial reaction was smurf. I asked him how long he had had the game (2 days) and how long he had been playing MP (1 day). I then asked him why he thought he would be able to win. His response was because he was a tactical genius and had played heaps of RTS games and was good at Starcraft. Guess what - I slaughtered him - it would have been over quicker if I had attacked him harder and sooner but I was b
why cant the sun be colonizable?! That would be cool!
Because stars (suns) are made of of super hot gases, otherwise known as plasma (due to their ionisation). As such they are not solid so nothing can stand on them. Plus they are so hot that they would kill anything... Oh, and the pressure that would be in the middle would also be an issue I would think...

MP games are about the same speed as SP. Which is to say they last up to about 2 hours in general, often less though sometimes more. SP takes AGES to complete as the AI will never work with you and feed you etc... like a human will...

The reason I think it is alloy and a number of others such as How have voiced similar suspicions is because pre-1.1 it wasn't like this. Then some of us who were on back then played and were like "woahh - when did Sins get turbo charged???" But it wasn't repeatable and a number of games I hosted didn't do it (back then I was one of those special group of people that could host pre-alloy as I setup my router :) )
another thing i would like to see is a way to set capital ships to automatically retreat when their health falls below a certai limit, say 25% or whatever. this would be setable by the player so as to prevent unnecessary "glorious last stand" type incidents with your favourite Marza against a swarm of Skavros enforcers
And what happens when the ship runs away when you are colonising because it hit 25% and only had a

When you are actually playing, you aren't actually using Ironclad servers - the game is P2P with the host syncing the game to ensure that everyone has run the simulation up to a certain point before the next round of simulation occurs. Lag is normally because one of the players cannot keep up due to data transmission issues or trying to run the game on a machine that cannot handle it (e.g. have graphics too high etc...) I'm in Australia, so my ping to other people is often slightly hi

There is a difference between asking a question and telling someone how to play when the person in question doesn't understand the game mechanics. I often try to answer people's questions and have any number of posts regarding issues with patching/port forwarding etc... I even answer dbrainstorm's question about where the CD key was in another thread of his. I have gone VERY hard on people who put up game suggestions that I disagree with, but that is completely different.
I guess that's true... Dang it! Why is nobody COMPLIMENTING this guide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because some of the stuff in it is wrong, so we are correcting it rather then telling you it is the best one we have ever seen!!!

Why are you so upset? You posted something in an open forum, then advertised it and I picked it apart in the main thread and told people in this one that is had issues in it. Other people picked holes in it too. Don't post something as if you are an expert if you aren't.
