CRLF means Carriage Return, Line Feed (i.e. insert a new line and return cursor to the start of the row). No idea why you are getting the error to do with it though...

Brand new game disc won't play online as the game has moved on - you need to patch the game to 1.12 Look at this sticky for more info: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/174432

No no no - you need to get permission from the SPACE PONIES,not the SPACE POLICE!!! Geez - do I have to point out EVERYTHING around here???

What version are you running (I am assuming last path is 1.12)? Look in the config.setting file and make sure the ports listed there are open on your firewall as well....
For all the above reasons and the 10% bonus you get for your economy.
Good point - though this is technically true for all races due to the bonus loyalty (20% if advent with research iirc)

That can work as well :) Though I should mention that sometimes a 4v4 or 5v5 can finish quicker then a 2v3 or 3v3 due to one team losing a couple of players - all of a sudden steam rolling occurs and you get a domino effect.
I've tried normal speed but I'm concerned that fast might be too much for my PC, especially online- are there games played on slow and normal as well?
Generally if there are, its due to people forgetting to change the settings. It just takes too long to play without the setting on fastest.

BUMP!!! I can host and often do. A lot of the players I play with are in Europe and USA and game is OK, so I wouldn't have thought China would be an issue unless there are major lag issues due to the Chinese Internet rules.
Such a silly work around. I wish stardock or IC or whoever is responsible for handling this part of the process would allow you to start either game without this mess. Seeing as its 'easy' for someone to manually do it, why can't it just be the default?
The reason is because it is a BETA. The final game will allow you to enable Entrenchment if wanted, or play vanilla Sins. And a game will disable Entrenchment if a player lacks it. I'm not 100% sure if you can disable it

How many friends do you have that play? Get them and your brother to spit the cost so for a new copy. That way you and your brother can play online and you can have 2 other guests LAN with you as well :D

Put simply - yes. For the following reasons: 1) If you don't have culture to push back enemy culture, your planets can be overthrown (same for all races) 2) If you don't have culture around your planets, the enemy can colonise them when they bomb them into the group (same for all races) 3) Each race gets a difference advantage in culture... Vassari get bonus damage (depending on the research they have performed). So you basically do it either
Get rid of win loss stats altogther replace it with Hours spent playing the game.. 1-10 hours = ensign 11hours-100 hours = luitenant 101 hours - 500 hours = commander This way if a noob wants to improve his ranking , quiting is the last thing he wants to do because he doesnt rake up the hours. Also eliminates the problem of failed restart games giving ranks.
Glad my name is not up there :) There are a number of other people who do similar stuff (quit etc...), but since they have many less games, it is not held against them as much. Experienced players are expected to understand somethign of the etiquette and expectations of the other players in a skilled game. An example of something a less experienced player then those above did to me recently is that they went AFK for a bit, come back and found they have lost a lot of the
