Go read posts from Frogboy - he has said that Stardock (the makers of Impulse) are a WINDOWS ship. And we KNOW Sins is a WINDOWS only game due to the "GAMES FOR WINDOWS" certification. Neither are Linux compatable - Sins however is able to run using WINE due to Linux devs handling the API calls etc... Learn something about what you are writing about...

How about you either go back and review the replay, or post it so someone can analyse it. Without any evidence to support you accusation, I would have to agree with everyone else as it was the same thought I had before I read their replies - Lvl 6 Marza... As I understand it, unless there is a desync issue, it has been theorised that it is impossible to cheat at Sins by using a trainer or hacking values etc... due to the way it simluates on every PC (it is running P2P).
So I just need to go /ignore Cykur unless I am in a game with you??? :D Is it just for that "session" or do you need to un-ignore them???
Try online - it is a whole new world... And you CAN'T walk away 99% of the time for more then 2 minutes, and even then you are risking it :D MP moves quicker, but also finishes quicker then SP as you can give/receive resources etc... and work with allies... There is always something to do in the game, even if it is checking your stats to make sure you don't have negative income, or that you still own your neutral extracotors etc... while something moves/builds etc...
I guess this means they can't win any awards with Entrenchment in 2009 - since it has already been used for this years award :D BTW - when in Entrenchment being released. I have access to Internet for about 13 more hours and then I won't have it until next year for my home PC.... :( (Moving tomorrow and it will take 2 and a bit weeks to get the ADSL2 setup at new house, and I go interstate for Xmas on 19th.... :( )
Aren't those "blasters" on the Kol actually auto-cannons???
I cry foul - the video they used to show off Sins looks like it is using Entrenchment!!! There are Starbases in the shots!!!!
I'm guessing all the planet upgrades go away if you do that?
Yup. You also can't build mines unless they demolish them and you can't build anything else unless you have enough points (just like normal) - problem is that their stuff is counted. So you would need to get them to demolish or you need to get enough upgrade points to build YOUR trade port etc... Technically its the same as when you take over an enemy planet that has infra - except you can't blow
Technically it is "To play a version after 1.05 or not, that is the question." :D
But Sins is not a pure RTS... It has elements of games like Civilisation - that never had a campaign either - only pre-created maps or ones you randomly generated...
You would lose AM retreating.... This is why you would want to have some non-carrier ships in your fleet (balanced fleet!!!) - you can still fight on without air cover (though run the risk of fighters killing the LRMs)
would also be nice if you could give/sell a planet to your ally if they need/want it
Technically you can - you abandon the planet in the same way you decommission infra. Your ally can then capture the planet...
So how come I never here an audio grab screaming "Megatron" when I play Vassari??? Oh wait - that was in the cartoons :D
The phase gates allow the ships on the sending end to slingshot with enough velocity to boost the phase jump engines to reach the new planet. The grav well on the destination pulls them up. Hence they arrive. The destination one is required as some sort of beacon... That explanation incorporates elements of Star Wars Hyperspace, Star Trek sling shoting (think Journey home :) ) and Babylon 5 with their version of jump gates and hypespace beacons etc to stop ships getting lost in hypers
heck, NOW even my planet defenses can stall an invading fleet until it is no more, I use 1 Phase Jump Inhibitor, 1 shield generator(TEC only), 6 Hangar defense(9 bombers, 3 Fighters) and 3 repair platforms, all customly placed within spitting distance of each other.
I'm assuming this is vs AI??? A fleet of 6 vassari/TEC carriers split 1/2 and 1/2 would be able to clear those defenses ready for a seige frigate assult... You would only need 4 if you were usin
Ahh - game development on a shoe string budget.... Love it :D
lol - you snooze.... :D
Aren't they both still 1.05 mods???
............sorry i am in a bad modd at the moment
Really - In a bad mod??? I suggest you unload it and try regular Sins for a bit!!!
Make planets die faster but with mitigation so that more ships on one planet isn't as productive as few ships on many planets - Might be tough to implement but could work. If someone sends out one big fleet and has to wait a similar time to kill a planet, it would hopefully encourage people to attack with mutliple fleets across many planets.
All this will achieve is people spamming seige frigates to all your planets as a few at each planet will quickly take out your pla
I wasn't aware that there was any ignore functionality in Sins. Where did you find out about it???
I'm betting that was it then - conflict issues with the demo... At a guess, Impulse worked out what should or should not be there and cleaned your install for you..
The shelves at the Stardock office do not count!!!!
Send me your Credit Card details and I will send you the patch!!! Honest... No questions asked... No, really. I will!!!!
And what happens when the game trys to play a text file as a sound? Bet it has an issue due to you mucking with the install. Here's a solution - only build in your HW grav well until another player/AI comes and attacks - that way there is no phase jumping to annoy you :D
