Yeah - as said above- patch to 1.12, copy that folder somewhere else so you can play vanilla 1.12 and then upgrade to entrenchment.... works fine for me :)

As far as I know - you get one serial per purchase...
1.12 works online fine as long as your modem/router/firewall is setup ok - just make sure the ports in the config.setting file are open and you are port forwarding the host port if you want to host without using alloy...
So a few more questions... 1) Why not upgrade to 1.12 to play online? You just patch it via Impulse. 2) If you can't play online, why ask to join a clan?
No offence Empire, but have you been online yet??? If you haven't (and your post implies you haven't), it's a bit early to be asking for a clan to accept you - multiplayer is MUCH harder, faster and more brutal than single player... You might also want to at least explain the scenario - were the teams locked, pirates on or off, map size etc... i.e. were both AI against you, or were you fighting two AIs that were also fighting each other? How close were they to you - i.e. was i
Every object in the game has to be stored in memory and processed every "round" (for want of a better term). The more there are, the more it has to do, so the longer it takes = the slower things are.... And if you DO have shared memory as many older (crappier....[e digicons]:X[/e] ) cards, then it will reduce the available system ram and possibly result in your system "thrashing" (constantly swapping memory to/from hard disk as more memory has been requested by all your running apps (includi
1.12 has become a carrier spam fest - with nothing but fighters being built. The battles I've had the last few days online have had over 30 fighters per player in them, sometimes closer to 50....
If you have a hardware one, make sure you have the required ports open They can be found in your config.setting file - iirc they are 6000 (or 6001 etc...) for the game, 6112 to host and 7000 to connect to ICO...
SP takes ages - MP is much quicker. The main reason for that is that 1) humans know to quit as they are beat - CPU fights it out and 2) people can work together in MP. Few tips (some have been stated above, but here goes anyway). 1) Don't bother building defenses early. You are wasting resouces. Until you are close to the enemy, they won't help you. And if the enemy gets to them later, you are already in trouble. Put that money into research etc... 2) When you start ou
Most people play online with all setting on fast so the game doesn't take to long (and pirates off to...). If you can beat an unfair AI on hard with all settings on fast, you are probably ready for MP :)
Your welcome. The main thing to remember about Impulse games is that you no longer need media. I wish I could do this for some of my other games - I can't play some as I can't find one of the disks :(
I doubt that they will give you a new one. But you can do a total install of the game via Impulse. Just make sure the game is uninstalled and then tell it to install and I beleive it should work (never tried it as ihave only patched via Impulse after buying disk and installing from disk....) Note also that when patching via Impulse, you don't need to apply patches in a given order - you just tell it to update and it works out what it needs to patch to get you to the correct version (1
Read the FAQ - you need to open some ports in your firewall to connect to ICO. If you are having issue connecting, try turning off your firewall for a second and see what happens. If you get the issue, it is something else, if you don't get it, then the issue is your end. I suggest opening your config.setting file (for me (Vista) it is found at C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins
The bottom bar shows you how much upkeep you are paying for how many supply points. If you need more points, you have to research the next level. However, the upkeep will increase (as a percentage of your total income (all 3)). So there is no point researching it too early as you will be reducing your income and not using the slots as you won't be able to buy the ships anyway. The flip side is you have heaps of income and no ships points free so cannot buy new ships either :)
Get off your high horse Shadow - you just rock up in any thread and bad mouth Impulse. We get it. YOU DON'T LIKE IT. Build a bridge and move on. I'm more interested in finding out what issues the OP had and what has been done to try and address them...
Of course, the issues could not be on the OPs end - I had exactly the same problems (almost 12 months ago). They were fixed by 1) Entering code EXACTLY as is on the manual (i.e. with the dashes included - a bit different to the usual boxes with dashes between them - hence why it failed the first time for me - I worked it out). 2) I then configured my router as per the request of the game. This isn't 100% their issue since you are in charge of YOUR network, not them. Th
You do make a good point that the AI shouldn't be brokering alliances with enemies of their initial alliance without some sort of consequence.
That is complete and utter crap - name one war where an ally has not been able to be at peace with one of your enemies, but not one of their other ones... e.g. Falklands War - 1982 - the US had treaties with UK and Argentina.
There are a number of gamers in Australia (myself included). I won't be playing Sins until the new year as my home is without internet access until then and I am away for the hols...
Epiclulz - the situation you find yourself in with a second hand game is no different to buying an OEM copy of Windows. You have no rights to support/patches and as such are required to provide your own "support" (which includes patching/upgrading). Distriubtion method (Impulse) is in the EULA, as is the statement explaining the licence is non-transferable....
And don't say that you can't use many capital ships effectively, I despise frigates, and only use them when necessary. (As little as possible in other words.) - Some level 8+ capital ships can take on a lot of foes.
Have you tried this against anything other then AI? Unless you have a lvl 6+Marza in your fleet, frigs/cruisers will own a cap fleet, especially since it is hard to get lots of cap to high exp levels as they share the exp.....
This has been standard Sins since day dot - the tech increases range at the cost of losing mobility. Turn the tech off, or don't research it...
Anyone else notice the starbases in the footage used? Looks like someone grabbed Entrenchment footage
Why yes I did - hence why I posted it above
I cry foul - the video they used to show off Sins looks like it is using Entrenchment!!! There are Starbases in the shots!!!!
Which was replied to with
Hehe..you are right Hack78 There is footage from our last visit.
I noticed this a while back when playing Advent - slightly annoying. It prevented queuing up everythign and forgetting about the planet as you moved on - you had to monitor the planet for a few more second. Plus you had a choice - start first building without bonus, or wait (with -ve income) until it kicks in...
Ahh - buy 3 kodiaks, get one free.... :)
Ouchie.... :( Any ignoring of advice is just to make things more interesting/challenging for YOU!!!!
