Well if you play Sedna or Queen of Thorns you have to have a different mindset than playing with other heroes. It isn't about killing Demigods its all about map control and destroying towers. Don't get any damage items except for the ring "natures reckoning" (its a good item because you need some splash and it also gives mana) but get a lot of hp and mana items, preferably Unbreakable Boots and Nimoths Chest and Vlemish Faceguard. Minions are also a very good Idea, even the low level minions

demigod uses a net_lag of 350ms so anything below that is fine when it is steady, it will take some time til people realize this though.
well I'd really like to know the reason he was banned, I don't see any profanity or personal attacks... he just said Rendez-Vouz > RakNet in the end, not in a very polite way though, but I have seen people not getting banned for a lot worse than that.
nah its not only the top 5% players who give important information, balance is different on different skill levels and you have to make it enjoyable on all skill levels - without destroying the balance on high-skill play of course. It is hard to achieve but doable. Exticacide is right about that it is way too early to tell about balance yet. There are some indications currently that Sedna is too strong especially in 2vs2, but maybe in the next week I'll meet someone who will just rip my broth
Mid Low: Queen of Thorns Low: Sedna
I'll play this combo in the ESL 2vs2 Tournament today (we decided on that before you made this topic, so its not specifically targetted to prove you wrong, yet a nice side effect)
membership money? you don't have to make a premium account, its optional and just gives a few not really needed extras.
L2P Pink ;) good to have you around here Sir
you can ping with "p".
well Stardock is responsible for all the connectivity stuff until you get into the match lobby and as nearly everyone who is attacking Demigod is attacking it for exactly that part of the multiplayer system, they are totally attacking Stardock. GPG nearly can't do anything about it , with the exception of not kicking people as fast ingame if they have a short connection problem. You can of course attack GPG for the decision to team up with Stardock if you really want to.
T3CH82, i meant on gameranger, hosting games via demigods custom game interface is not working nearly as fast and reliable as it is via gameranger.
most legit users host passworded games with their friends.
exile96, pings between US and EU are good enough to play the game without problems.
I wouldn't call it finished yet, it is definitely a lot better than the original translation though. To improve it even further we need some germans to have a look at it and tell us what they think is not that good translated ;)
The "Currency Upgrade" is not per Mine but an absolute value. Level I increases income per second by 4, Level II by 6 (in total not additionally, so it only add 2 compared to II), Level III by 8 (in total again). And both gold mines and the citadel upgrade is gold/sec per player.
Demigod is a teamgame, playing it 1vs1 is like playing CS or Dota or TF2 in 1vs1, so ya it never was popular and never will be in 1vs1.
More maps, and more open maps with less towers (so maps different from the current) is certainly something I want. But about the gamespeed, if you speak about the speed, I played starcraft for years competively and my small brother still does (high rank B on ICCUP and having about 250 apm in average) yet we don't think it is too slow. In fact I think it is even a lot faster than Warcraft and dota. Of course the fights in dota are shorter but that doesn't a make the game faster it just means t
Nolc, the ping on that counterstrike server is so low because you play with persons very near to your (own country most likely), try playing CS with someone from the other side of the world. It just won't work. If you are fine with being restricted to only playing people who live near your position, fine. I prefer to play with people all around the world with as low lag as possible. In Starcraft you can play as german with koreans with really good ping. In Warcraft you can't (unless you
so I just started up starcraft (you know most popular game of all RTS( and tested how it runs without port forwarding: 1vs1 - runs as usual except you can't host or download maps. 2vs2 and bigger, you can connect and start the game but it has horrible lag. and nolc Starcraft has a EMS too and its p2p ;)
Halo is peer to peer I think http://kotaku.com/259881/bungie-qa-on-beta-equipment-saved-films-rankings
Nolc, did you ever play CS with someone from another continent ? If you don't run a game P2P you can't really have a unified worldwide community. Because with Servers you either run the game asynchronous (you don't see what is actually happening as the server does the simulation) or you double the ping (if you run it synchronous and relay the stuff via the host.
http://www.gamereplays.org/demigod/ there is a lots of guides - navigation on that side takes a bit to get used to . And if you know how the economy system of the game works in depth: http://www.demigod-live.com/news/details/article/the-economy-of-demigod-54.html (demigod-live.com is still in the process of being finished so there is not too much to look for right now, but that will change soon)
well I have seen only 1 failed connection (where the connectivity window said "connecting failed") with a single guy yet in like 20 games I played and a lots more I tried to join yet. The majority of the problems seems to come from a error where the NAT Server doesn't recognize connected players as connected or when it says that people are connected to all they don't get into lobby. Those are probably quite easy fixed which should increase the success rate for the players a lot.
having played Demigod for 9 months now and being quite good at I think, I can assure you that UB definitely is not that good currently , heck even underpowered maybe compared to sedna and queens of thorns. However the balance overall is pretty good I think, just a few demigods are easy to play and a few aren't and of course a game can't be really truly balanced at release.
I have the feeling that a connection problem which last only for a few seconds is enough to kick a player from the game. I've did some tests and it seems that something like a 5 second connection freeze is enough to kick a player. During my last 5 games nearly always 1 disconnected at least and as those were either guys from the winning team or happened when the game was even I don't think it was all quitting. If I am right, I'd like to see the time before someone is kicked increased to at le
team games take even longer to find in battle.net usually at least the big ones and the ffa.
