Another thing is that the Destiny is massive. From what i can tell from the show so far, is that it is at least the size of the Aurora class Battleships if not larger...and i would have to say larger...

The problem is that it messes up some of the old episodes and/or one or two of the Star Trek movies that were out before this. In one of the movies, Spock is on Vulcan and is talking/staying with his mother as he is regaining his memories from before he was "killed". In the new movie, both Vulcan and Spock's mother dies, so where does Spock go to recover his memoreis after he is "killed" and brought back to life by Genisis?
This would be fun because you could also add a thing that allowed a player to see the entire grav-well that they are on but also on a small portion of the other grav-well(s) meaning that you could hide a fleet on another grav-well after knowing which grav-well the enemy fleet is jumping to.
Now with flack buffed and carriers nerfed there is almost no point in building carriers just because fighters are killed off and are not replaced at all.
Since flack can kill squads of fighters easily, and carriers were--and i am just guessing here so don't rail me for this--used mainly for fighters. Now about the only point for carriers is for bombers--whcich is what i use light carriers for already. It would be nice to reduce the nerf because then it would be mo
Carriers really need to have the build penalty removed or put to -25%, just because now that flack work as they should have, carriers should as well. Right now they dont.
I agree with this. I have not played online but i can say that even playing against AI that it requires a diversified fleet.
while its being built? what does it start building with 1000HP automatically? no one seems to get this point, you need to build a STARBASE, meaning its big and expensive and slow to build, and all the while its vulnerable to all sorts of stuff... what if you are fighting against another Vasari SB who has already been built and leveled... he can focus fire on your SB while its being built, blow it out of the water, then move on to mopping up your fleet that may have no other
Chuck Norris is the reason why you can't find the Space Ponies....
Actually i did find space ponies...it just happened randomly when i started a LAN game with one of my friends and when the game started it gave me the achievement Space Ponies. I believe that Space Ponies is a random, and i mean very random, achievemnet
2012 is supposed to correspond to the coming of the next astrological age
If i'm also not mistaken, this is the time when our solar system will cross an imaginary line that seperates the galaxy in half. In 2012, we will cross this line and begin a new galactic year--i think that it is a new galactic year or the last half of the one we're on. But if Prozach2K3 is right, then it should be a new galactic year.
Carriers have no ship weapon, so they don't move unless you tell them to.
actually they do if you have them in a fleet and so they will reform with the fleet--and sometimes be in the middle between the to fighting fleets--if you tell the fleet to attack a specific target that you want destroyed. Even without this and your fleet just jumps in, the carriers will folow the rest of the fleet in and possibly be in the thick of things when you don't want them to be.&nbs
Seriously, they should have just made the New Jedi Order books into movies. Or almost any of the many other books.
This is what i think they should do now with Star Wars--either make movies out of the books and/or make games out of them that are NOT crap. Kinda like how Empire at War turned out. I thought that would be more like the old Star Wars Rebellion game that came out 1998.
I think that assault cruisers should have a weapon system--maybe stronger than that of the siege frigate but less than that of a light frigate--just something to help fend off lighter stuff as it's launching its volleys at a starbase/structure. I especially think that carriers should have a weapon or two and that they make the carriers smarter in the fact that they don't move into fromation with the rest of the fleet if the fleet is under attack. This would make it harder to lose
That's also cool because we should always plan for the worst--a.k.a--WWIII, Antichrist, Nuclear Holocaust--but we should plan for something that is better than what we expected--a.k.a--pole ship causing massive natural disasters killing thousands of humans but humanity still survives unlike WWIII or Nuclear Holocaust
I think the polar shift is now coming to be the most prominent because i think scientists are seeing shifts in the magnetic poles...but not saying that it couldn't be the doomsday one either because for all we know, this polar shift may be more catostrophic than what i'm saying and may more or less wipe out the human race... i could be wrong though too....
Kol is good on its own, but when teamed withKodiak HC's it can be near unstoppable
also very good if teamed with a Dunov with shield restore and the HCs
i would have to go with star wars mainly because they i think have a somewhat more realistic approach with especially weapon systems... Even though they have droids and computers, they still have the guns manned. Other than that, Star Wars rules because the ships would so own Star Trek's ships--even an Old Republic Dreadnaught could easily take out the Enterprise-D (i think that is what the Galaxy-class enterpirse is) even though it wouldn't really be able to manuv
It's a nice start to what could be a very interesting story. Though i do not believe the world will end on Dec. 21 2012 because if i remember correctly, it will only be a polar shift which will screw up wheather patterns like mad and probably cause millions of deaths but not enough to make the human population go on the endangered species list... Just a thought...
I would have to say that Star Wars would win. At the height of the Empire, as previously mentioned, had a million systems and over 25,000 Star Destroyers and they were already upgrading those to Imperial class-II Star Destroyers by the Battle of Yavin (Death of Death Star 1). Towards the end, the Rebel Alliance started getting Mon Calamari Cruisers that were more or less a match to the ISDs because of the massive amounts of back-up-shield generators that they carried. They a
I would have to say, in my opinion, that subversion is a semi useless ability because like crashmatsusow said, it usually gets used on the planet you are about to glass.
I don't think that Kols are out of the question either because even though they are new, there would still be floating Kol hulks out in space where the pirates might find it. But maybe make it so the Kols don't come untill a Severe pirate raid level has been established or a total of x credits has been spent on bounty altogether (from all the empires) or x credits have been placed on player since beginning of game. This would keep counting even if the credits on said player w
Lemon Ants kill all but one species of plant, thus providing themselves with more nesting sights (the plant type that survives their poison).
This would be a type of adaptation to its environment. The plant was probably never originally immune to the Ant's poison and so it adapted to its environment to survive the poison. The other plants have yet to do so.
Also maby you should try making the Homeworld 2 races as well.
And maybe add the Kiith Somtaaw and the beast from HW: Cataclysm...
They wouldn't need the labs for that because in original SoaSE, neutral colonies had a couple of hanger defenses anyway so why would they need research labs for mines and mini starbases w/ aux government?
Got frustrated with those little 1 and 2 ship fleets that it had a habit of bouncing around a sector I owned looking for information.
or just doing general bombardment taking out all of your production facitilities on the planet(s)...but if you owned the entire sector, then usually it helped keep the sector yours because they werent taking out military targets only...
Armor Plating. We have seen Galactica take many hits from many different weapon types and hold up pretty well. The armor the ship must have would be have to be extrodinary to take the stresses of the jump to FTL so it's not too much of s stretch to think that it could withstand a nuke. We do see craters all over the ship from hits, so there is damage.
If you didn't see the miniseries, Galactica was going to be retired, so it is safe to assume that the Galacti
