I'm not sure about the problem you are having. A group of friends and I all downloaded the 1.1 patch and played the game fine last night without any issues.
The problem he is talking about is the desync bug and it seems to be occuring more often in v1.1 than in v1.05. In v1.05, it would minidump if there was a desync. V1.1 let's you play for hours without knowing you were desynced 10 minutes into the game.

I learned about that exploit yesterday. I would have to say that using the exploit doesn't cause the desync though (I used it just once to see if I could duplicate their claims and then I stopped using it). Anyway, I don't know how people were able to discover the exploit, it's not like you do those key strokes in that order under normal playing conditions. And yes, my guess about the Alloy Netcode is just that, a guess. However, I have never seen so much desyncing u

I am surprised it happened to you in a 1v1, it seems to usually occur in larger games. It happened to me a lot during the Beta, and I know they did some extra debugging to get rid of the desync error. I don't know how well that went though, considering the problem still exists. If you ask me, your chances of a minidump/desync error has actually increased with v1.1. I say kill the Alloy netcode. That would probably solve all of the problems.

The really sad thing was that we just filled up the 4v4 and I was about to press start. If I pressed it just a few seconds sooner, I would be playing right now.

Yep, I played a game last night and about 10 min into the game I noticed I was desynced with at least one of my allies. By the end of the game, about 40 min, a few of my allies didn't see the same enemy movements as I did. At about 1 hr into the game it crashed. I was the host using the Alloy Netcode and playing via ICO. Here are the files: http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/7
We'll get it though!
woot!. Excellent. Yeah, if v1.1 comes out with the desync bug, some people are going to be pretty disappointed (yes, I am talking to you conte).

they are working on it. Habitual minidumping is not normal though. Make sure to restart your game client everytime you want to play. V1.1 should be fixing some of the reasons for the minidumps.

You mean the same file will let you view 2 different games depending on whose eyes you are looking through? That is odd. Yeah, if you can, post it up. Just find a file hosting site (I use fileden.com) and then type the http:... link into the forum post.

No mod. Make sure that Alloy is enabled. The easiest way to make this happen is play a game using ICO for a little while (might as well just play out a good 2v2 just to get your system going). Once the game is done, play another game in ICO (without restarting the game and as quickly as possible). Seems to be the trigger. If that doesn't trigger it, just quit and remake a game. Repeat until you get the dump, it will eventually come. My gut says that

Just had a desync in Beta 3. The player that was out of sync didn't restart his client before beginning a new game. Desync.save and stats are from my computer. Desync2 is from his computer. http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/7/2039910/Desync2 http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/7/2039910/Desync.save <a href="http://www.fil

Conte, I think they fixed the original reason why the minidumps are happening. I think the Alloy netcode threw another variable into the mix. Remember, a minidump is just the game telling you something went wrong. Therefore, these dumps I have had could be completely different from the ones everyone was having. It could even be specific to my computer. I would give it a chance. -Howthe?

Of all the people who should know how to beat a 3v1, it would be Cykur: he is the king of the screwed position. In any event, I would also suggest that you send a colony ship over to your allies side. That way, even if you do get overcome, you can make a go at it once your allies start wiping the other guys off the map. I have done this a few times and even got some compliments from my opponents for making such a good comeback.

Yes, it is fast for about the first 10 min. I believe the theory is that the new Alloy net code is some how responsible. I personnally like it that fast. It really makes the boring opening build order go faster.

Right. Works every time. The times I don't, I dump. I think it might be because of the Alloy net code. A good test would be to see if this happens when Alloy net code is disabled.

Looks like the file location bit is answered. I would like to point out that Vista is not friendly to downloading files from the internet. You must first download the file to the desktop or your documents or something. Then you can move the file to the correct folder. Good to know about the CRTL+SHIFT+X. I will have to try that.
