Conte, I think DT is going to move over to beta 3. I'll let you know for sure soon, but come out and join the fun. There are still a lot of fun games to be had.

Why do people hate Impulse? It works great for me and I love it. Also, why do we need a 4th beta? It looks like the bugs are pretty much gone now. With this beta, the rest of the bugs will be fleshed out and it will be ready for prime time.
Good to have you back Cykur. You're one of the few people who can articulate the way to win this game with viable strategies.
Bombers are easily countered by fighters. This might be the worst Spam suggestion ever.
Did you install the drivers for your Monitor? Did windows display right? Did you set Windows to display at the right resolution? This isn't a SoaSE problem.
I would say the Kortul is useful. It can take more of a beating than any other Vasari cap ship, maybe more than any other cap ship period besides the Kol. When upgraded and at max level I've seen my Pulse Beams be rated to 190 damage with Power Surge on. Even not counting the Wave Cannons and Phase Missiles, that kind of DPS is nothing to be taken lightly.
Cap ships are support ships in this game. I would rather buy 5 HCs and get the same damage output than buy a
I vote Space Egg. Nano bomb pwns all, and when your enemy is hurting, you grav bomb him and BOOM, no more enemy cap. And did I mention Planet Suction? I love that Space Egg. Sorry for the immature sentence, but I had to. Anyway, I have played Vasari in over 600 online games, and I have never choosen the Kortul as my first cap. If I decide to spam caps, I MIGHT build it. I just don't find it useful though. All of the other Vasari c
If you wait for 10 min in lobby, a game will eventually start. It depends on the time and day as well. I do agree that when v1.1. comes out, you will see a lot of people on multi-player again.
Who is quitting and not surrenduring? Also, you need to realize that the host needs to stay alive if you are to get a win (and the losers a loss). Therefore, it is entirely possible the person did surrender but because there was no host, the loss/win is not recorded. Also, smurfing a 3v5 is not cool, even though all the ones I have played where there are smurfs on the 5 person team, I have still won (although it takes a lot more time than I would like). It is highly pr
If you go to gateworld.net, they have an article that tells you which race it is. I am not going to say it here since it is MAJOR SPOILER. I will give you a hint, look at the way he cocks his head when he says "The device has been activated." You've seen those mannerisms before.
Bump. Devs, is this getting fixed?
I guess just from experience. Let's say you have 1 world that splits in 3 phase lanes, and each phase lane then branches to 2 additional phase lanes, you notice that culture spread slows. Ok, now look at a botched start, where your HW only has one phase lane. Now put a broadcast center there. You will notice that that broadcast center spreads very fast from the one lane. Also, let's take a game expample. I have seen plenty of times where 1 enemy broadc
Remember too that culture per broadcast center is divided by the number of phase lanes going from that planet. Therefore, if your enemy has 4 broadcast center with 4 lanes coming from the planet, you only need 1 center at your world to prevent culture from overthrowing your planet. In other news, culture is a slow painful process (like 30min), you really should look at your empire every so often.
I think everyone answered ok. My only sticking point is that to me, refineries are worthless. Just put trade centers up and if you need resources, buy them. Trade stacks so much better than refineries and the cost to research and build refineries just doesn't outweigh the benefits. Besides, if you play Vasari, you will be in no short supply of resources anyway - yeah planet suction!

I'm [DT]Howthe? and also Howdudothat? Just add me to your friends list, it's easy to find people once on their friends list. You can whisper to someone even in game and you're in lobby (and vica versa) by typing /w [name] [message]. I'm usually online in the evenings EST weekdays and on and off on weekends.
@Badfish: 37 LRMs also cost less and have less fleet supply than 18 kodiaks and 10 robo's, so what's your point? Also, Hcs are the counter to LRMs so of course you would win, your fleet used more resources to build, was bigger in fleet supply, and was the counter to the only ship he had on the battlefield. If your enemy was smart, he would have retreated and built a better force, hopefully with bombers to help. Honestly, you guys need to come onlin

I play Vasari, and in v1.05, sometimes your own assails don't unfreeze. If you right-click the auto-cast ability to off and then left-click the ability, it should unfreeze. I can't download your game since I don't have the beta, but try this advice and see if it works.
Good ending Annatar, I edited the post to incorporate.
The simplest answer is no unless you archived before you upgraded. I had to reinstall the game to downgrade during the first beta v1.09. Anyway, the real v1.1 should be coming shortly, so you might just want to wait.

Actually, your teammate was smart enough to get his space egg to level 6, so I think he might have been the smartest of your two teammates.
