Did you run the file Sins_Bonuspack_104_setup? It installs the update after you double-click it. If you look at the new game screen you will see it is in fact different (you can easily opt not to have pirates for instance).

Thanks for the reply. I do upgrade the planet infrastructure right away when I acquire a new colony. I put the mouse cursor over the credit displayed at the top right of the screen and it shows me what credits/sec I get from each planet. The ones in the red or minus I have to update. I get them from -3.0 in the red to 0.0. Is that enough? or is there more I should do? Oh, and if I buy tech that increases the population limit do I get more credits from the planet?

The manual is a good size but the game has lots of details that it doesnt mention. Like scouts on autoexplore? That and myriad other commands are never mentioned. Its like the game publisher expects the player to learn through trial and error. Why do publishers create great games and add incomplete manuals?? To keep costs down? But this is at a cost to the player, imo. In the late 1980's I got games like Harpoon which were just as complex and detailed but it came with a _thorough_manua

At the end of my games I see a statistic that says "Credits Lost to Planet Underdevelopment". I usually have a line that goes way up on the graph, meaning I lost LOTS of credits. The AI loses minimal credits. Now, I always build mining stations for crystal and metal, then build a trade port for each planet as I acquire them. I also upgrade the civic tech tree so the metals/crystals are extracted more efficiently. What am I doing wrong that I lose so many credits ov

How about making the game 2v2 with teams locked so you always have an ally? Then if you can get friendly with one AI it's 3v1 in your favor. I haven't done this yet as I just got the game a few days ago. But its a thought.

I decided to play a game with more than two players (in offline mode) and set up a game with 4 players, two per team. I locked the teams so there wouldnt be backstabbing, just us against them. Well.....my ally did attack me eventually, though Im not sure why. I tried to do his mission requests though this is my first experience with that aspect of Sins. Maybe I wasnt quick enough? How do I keep my ally from turning against me? The other te

How do I set the difficulty level for Sins? All I see are options for low-normal-high resources/structures and slow-normal-fast play speed. I haven't installed the 1.04 update yet as I am not sure I want all the changes in it. Plus I want to review my last couple of games.

Colony frigates can capture resources in space debris and storms? Wish I had known that in my last game. There was a storm between me and my AI opponent but it seemed useless. There was also a debris field. Live and learn I guess.
