Oh dear. Sounds like I will pass completely on this then. Thanks for the review/warning.

Anyone who played it have a quick review for it? There's barely any information on it, and it's bit pricey to take a random gamble on.
If battles in GalCiv3 play like MoO2 I will be all over that.
I hope Stardock learns a valuable lesson about making their sales difficult for people to find. I realize this was probably a ploy to try and get people to download and constantly run the Impulse Dock, so they can attract more publishers with higher usage numbers. Unfortuntely pissing people off because they didn't get notified of a sale they would have glady taken advantage of is bad for business. I would have glady done the GalCiv2 one had I known about it in time. <p
As a player of the Baldurs Gate series since release I have to say Dragon Age is a fun adventure, but that's it. The story is very weak, and dull. The cut scenes are way to often and annoying...even to just interact with a shop I have to be greated with a quick one...sheesh! Also the character skills and classes are VERY VERY boring and simular. They give very little diveristy compared to BGII. The best thing Dragon Age h
See, now I though the combat was a step up from previous cRPGs while the story and character interactions were a step back. Aside from Alister, Sten and Shale, none of the characters really stood out as being very interesting to me. Morrigan and Lileana got ejected from the party in record time (Morrigan disapproves -10). Wynne was uninteresting, but more or less required to survive difficult fights. Didn't use the Elf, and didn't get the Dorf until the game was almost
what about a 2 pack for those who already have vanilla sins without any expansions yet? hmmm, with Trinity, I would guess this is the end of Sins I. No more third expansion?
They cancelled the third micro-expansion, yeah. They didn't rule out that there may be a full expansion in the future. I guess they want to add things (probably a fourth race, more cap ships, etc.) that a $10 expansion won't cover.
Spore today for 25% off. Spore?! Come on Stardock, nobody wants that crap. Bust out a sale for the Sins full pack so I can finally get my one cheapskate friend into it!
Ninja FPS would work well as a 'Hitman' style game IMO. Basically you're given an objective, and it's up to you how to best use your skills and equipment to reach that objective. Basically Hitman in feudal Japan
Quoting Raven X, reply 30 You should add "can buy the game" to the list of qualifiers. Many people who pirate, especially kids, simply can't buy the game, either because of a lack of money, unavailability of the game or unavailability of a credit card to purchase it online. I don't know if this should be deplored or not, but it is not a loss of sale. Some of them do so once possible. Of course, there are those won't buy it even when th
Following the ban, developer Rebellion made a statement claiming it would not release a "sanitized or cut down version for territories where adults are not considered by their governments to be able to make their own entertainment choices." Holy crap, good on them for shaming the Aus board for this nonsense. Hopefully this breakout of common sense continues, and the
As far as RA, overseers, subverters, enforcers and so on... They don't use phase missiles so I don't build that many of them. Remember the two steps to winning mid to late game vasari... Isn't that something that should be addressed though? Visari were clearly designed as the 'quality over quantity' race, yet only their starbase seems to have any real 'quality' advantage over the other races. Skirmishers and Enforcers should be viab

I certainly hope that there is no bug when the Christmas sale is on. And I also hope that there will be sales available for me, or else I will just have to go and buy stuff from Steam or D2D. Not something I want to do. *Prays for full Sins sale, Demigod sale...*
Demigod is
I just used the term 'Halo-clone' as that's what this generation of kids know best. They never played Doom in it's heyday, and can't understand what was so great about it. Halo, even if medoicre by PC standards, was the first console FPS to be done really well. The 'gold standard' of the current-gen consoles if you will. And yes, some games deviate from the standard formula. Unsurprisingly, these are the games that stood out amongst the crowd (Battlefield 1942, U
I aboslutely hate, hate how some developer, or more often the publisher, puts out some watered down console port to the PC and then sits back and pretty such says the game didn't sell because the PC isn't vialable anymore. Hey, there might be some fans out there willing to throw out their money for anything the minute it hits the shelves, but the rest of us generally don't buy watered down ports. Hey top of th line graphics aren't high on my list of must haves, but if i sit down and pl
This comes up in every remotely popular RTS forum ever made, and nothing ever gets done about it. It is something that needs to be done from the get go to work. Why won't it work now? -Limit Accounts to 2: What about people who already have more than 2? Do you auto-delete all but 2 accounts on them? There's also no real tracking of who's account it who's in Sins IFAIK. There's no 'profile list' attached to your product key; at least there d
More innovative FPS is going down-hill. Console multiplayer FPS is definitely going uphill. Think about it, three years ago (before the 360 which came out sometime 2006) playing a console FPS online wasn't such a common thing. Now, you'd be crazy not to get into the craze. The console FPS games (and all console games in general) are starting to become more and more like PC games with their features, and this is pretty much what console
The requirements are fitting for the campaign in both cases. What you seem to forget is, that Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander have this massive, technically unlimited scale. Naturally you can't put a system requirement for every situation. Ran like ass in the campaign too. And Skirimish is a pretty standard fearture in RTS'. Being able to play on a 4 player map with bots should be covered under 'recommended settings' IMO. T
Epic is the all-time champion of this nonsense. Gears of War PC did badly. Why? Because the multiplayer reliability and interface was ass, and while it might have been a 10/10 GOTY on Xbox it is merely average in the large pool of AAA PC FPS'. Epic: OMG piracy is causing these poor sales! Unreal Tournament 3. Widly regarded as a downgrade from UT2004, was clearly consolized, and very foolishly released at the same time as the blockbuster Orange Box.
If you can point me to some replays of non-noob 2v2 games where someone beats an Advent spammer without scout spamming or LRM spamming back, please enlighten me. We are simply not interested in large team games, and do not care if spam can be beaten when there is a 50+ planet buffer seperating starting positions. Edit: Haha, tried to get into larger games again. Nope, kick the newbs again every time. Fuck it, Agent of Kharma is completely correct about the community
We're played some more, and our experiences have been more like Agent of Kharma says. The 5v5 we tried to play didn't fly since my friend and I have newb accounts and need to be on the same team. Of course, nobody wants to play with us. Hosting our own and going back to 2v2, this game just seems to be spam or go home. You seem to have two early game choices: spam LRMs with your colonizer cap or spam scouts with your colonizer cap ship. If you do anything else, yo

I honestly cant remeber the last FPS that really grabbed me, they all feel rather the same now after so many years.
Definitely agree with you on that one. Frankly there hasn't been a major improvement to the FPS formula since Duke Nukem 3D introduced the jump button. A friend of mine raves about Tea
I don't know, I'm still a bit bitter towards GPG for lying about the system requirements on SupCom 1. My old machine exceeded the recommended requirements on the box, but after 30 mins or so against 3 AIs I'd be seeing single digit frame rates during combat. Throwing settings on low didn't even help, the game simply NEEDED the fastest C2D processor at the time. It wasn't a recommended setting, that was pretty much the true minimum requirement for anything above 1v1 as the ga
If your opponent is making nothing but LRMs, you can spam out swarms of scouts to fight them if you are Advent or TEC. LRM spam has actually become less viable as of the last patch. You really have to consider the possibility that your LRM spam could get smacked down now (especially if you are Vasari), at least early game (though Raging Amish would probably argue that it could happen later, too.) Note that ultimately the bulk of your fleet should end up be
It would be interesting if instead of an offensive weapon, it was a massive defensive weapon. It's effect on enemy planets would be unchanged from now, but if used on your own planet it would give a MASSIVE temporary alligence boost. You could use them on key planets to kick your late game economy into overdrive; through the power of brainwashing.
