Actually, right now I have been playing a game versus 4 hard AI and locked teams. I have remote sensors in several systems showing 2 AIs still active and just got the victory screen. Chose to continue play, and they are still there.[e digicons]o_O[/e] Apparently you can win and without destroying everything.

I'd like a way to handicap/augment human players. My son won't play against me anymore because I beat him a few times (handily-as I should, having played strategy games a lot longer than him), but I can't win when playing against him and his friend as a team (way too much fleet/development). Simply adding AI players to one side doesn't work since they don't cooperate all that well.
A change to the Fleet upkeep. Right now I could, in theory, own 10 planets, max out my fleet, and pay far,far less than someone who has 20 planets with a max fleet. Instead of buying levels with different upkeep rates, each 100 supply you currently have would cost a flat rate of X Credits/Metal/Crystal per second. This means you need a larger empire to support a larger fleet. In the later stages of the game you could also spend excess C/M/C that you have acumulated to have a larger fleet tha you
