Does that actually store any information about your login state? I thought the only thing that it stored about login information is the username and password (in plain-text). If the user while trying to login manually inputted the username and password the pref file should have no impact on it?
Not really 100% sure why this works tbh, but for most people it does. My best guess is that the game is checking the
Newbie question - does playing online with the new patch still require port forwarding ?
Is it required, no (that's what the NAT facilitator is for). Is it a good idea? Absolutely. If you know what you're doing and feel comfortable making the changes in your router, forward those ports. You can also use the ImpulseReactorOptions app located in the Demigod\bin directory to specify the ports used on your machine. This is extremely useful if you hav
You recommend to delete a file in our directory when the login worked fine 5 minutes ago? rofl.
Your login information is cached in this file. We have seen issues where if the game crashes this file can be written incorrectly and prevent then from logging in. Usually deleting it and having the game recreate it on next launch will solve the issues.
xalzias: do you have the latest patch from today (1.00.075)? If so, please drop an e-mail to with your DxDiag info. Is anyone else still experiencing issues after the release today regarding sound/performance?
This seems to be an issue with 7xxx series nVidia cards. It has been reported to GPG.
It's really sad that Impulse cannot proceed to the installation : "This program is not compatible with your current operating system.".
This is done intentionally. DeskScapes is one of those apps that simply does not work yet on Windows 7. You'll constantly get that uxsms error and there is nothing that can be done to fix it with the current release. Try deleting the game.prefs file in (My) Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Demigod\ and then launch the game and try again.
Ya it seems to work fine on XP as well. The thing I'm not sure of - does a person who just has MyColors and not WB seperately have access to the WB config screen?
No. Like the Doctor said, you need to have WindowBlinds to be able to make these adjustments. MyColors is basically a one button app, and is really not designed to have the granular controls like WindowBlinds.
I was told by Stardock support that I would have to completely uninstall Comodo to get the game to work. Since that's just completely ridiculous, and because I don't intend to leave my system without that protection, I ended up asking for a refund instead. To Stardock's credit, they processed it the very next day and it should go through soon. That's a lot better than you'd get from most game publishers. I still think it's crazy that this game can't run when Comodo is in
Impulse anywhere DOES NOT give you any different start up screen to the normal version. It asks for the same information: Account name & password - for which it needs an internet connection to function!!
Um... Here's where I'm confused. Impulse Anywhere will let you download standalone .exe files and associated data files to install your software. It requires that Impulse be installed but will not ask for login information. Perhaps you downloaded I
Yes, Impulse requires an internet connection to log in to the service. It will not get past this point on an offline machine. You'll want to use Impulse Anywhere, available here: http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com This will download a file you can use to install on an offline machine. Alternatively, you can download the WindowBlinds installer by requesting your account info at stardock.com/support. This wil
Sound shouldn't have that much impact imho.
A lot of integrated sound chipsets offload all the sound processing to the CPU, and this can definitely have a performance impact on older single core systems. Lowering sound quality settings should help with any heavy performance loads.
From the info we're getting back from customers, it appears that some people are running with hardware acceleration for sound turned off. Turning this on may help with these issues. To do so, open Control Panel and double click "Sound and Audio Devices" Once you are here, under the volume tab, under the speaker settings grouping, click
