The developers have created a tool that will hopefully resolve some of the issues with running Demigod with conflicting apps. Please download the following file: http://sd.stardock.com/Demigodstub.exe Put that file in your Demigod\Bin directory and use it to load the game instead of Demigod.exe. This will bypass several issues that may cause the game not to start.

This is a known bug and is on the list to be fixed.
Check the file permissions on that specific file and make sure you have access to read/modify it. Also check and make sure you don't have any security applications preventing access to the file and locking it, which could cause this error.
Also, check and make sure you have the latest drivers for your card. nvlddmkm.sys is an nVidia driver file, and an update may help resolve the BSODs
Yes, the LAN option was enabled in the day 0 patch available through Impulse: http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe
What is the version number Impulse is reporting is installed? Mouse over the v1.00 to get the patch number (should look like 1.00.0XX)

I believe there are some OEMs that re-brand Google Desktop as their own Desktop Enhancement application. Check for any apps like this with similar functionality that are OEM branded (HP, Acer, etc.)
Oh-Joy: Please post or PM me your ticket number and I'll get you taken care of.
LATEST ISSUE: It appears that there are issues with Google Desktop and Demigod on Windows XP. Does this apply to anyone in this thread having issues?
Mouse over the version number and you should see a tooltip with the full version number.

You may have been experiencing some issues with, or reading in the forums about, trouble registering retail copies of Demigod. Specifically errors claiming the serial was invalid or already registered to another account. Unfortunately, this was due to an oversight on our part. Although housing something called the "Unclean Beast" inside of our datacenter seemed like the only logical option at the time (you can't exactly chain him up in the backyard at your mom's house.) in h

Best to go by the version number available in Impulse, as this will indicate basically the patch level, not the build of the game itself. As of now, the latest Impulse version is 1.00.048
Impulse version 1.00.048 will be the latest. The version number in game will be different. Best to go by what's in Impulse.
Unfortunately, all the port forwarding and workarounds and plugging right into the raw 'net on your end doesn't necessarily mean that the people on the other end are doing the same. The patches coming out should help with this, and eventually give the "host" the option to kick problem players.
While P2P might be a good idea in theory, it seems, so far at least, to fail miserably in practise.
Please read here for an explanation of why it had to be done: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/345345
Patches are coming down the pipe and server upgrades being done to help with the situation. Make sure to let us know if they're working for you.

Most of this should be addressed with the latest updates. A lot was due to poor server response from being hammered on release day (still talks to the servers to check for updates, even on single player in the menus). Anyone still having issues?
Nope, not joking. The email said there have been reports of duplicate keys. Presumably they want to ascertain that I am a legitimate customer and not some filthy pirate, and then they will issue me a new key.
Exactly, and we hate doing it. But unfortunately, if word got out that we just assigned serials to anyone who e-mailed in with issues, it would take even longer to resolve because of the influx of pirates writing in.
I sincerely hope that you are joking/exagerating!!!! If this company is going to make paying customers jump thru such ludicrous hoops to fix a problem that should not exist in the first place, then I will seriously re-think having anything else to do with them. There are enough GREAT games out there that we players should not even CONSIDER putting up with this crap...
Unfortunately this is the only way we have of verifying retail serial numbers. So far there have
