So, it's been a very long time since I have posted anything on the SD forums so I thought while I had time, I might try to get back into the swing of things... So, while I have been preparing for my upcoming school year (a Master's in Game Development), I have been playing through my game library again. This lead to many revelations on the interesting things game developers have tried to make games in common genres different. Some of these ideas have worked well
dream-er
What version of deskscapes are you running? Are you on a laptop or a desktop? Which kinds of dreams (video or dynamic)? All dreams or just a select few?
So, the updated dream solution is coming out soon... How soon? I do not know... But soon! For those that are just finding this thread, just wait a little bit longer... It'll be worth it! Note: The patch will released with DeskScapes 2.5 so when you update DeskScapes it will install the fix automatically.
Ok, so, I know that Mario Kart Wii came out a long time ago... So long ago that I can't really remember (that it means much... I barely remember what I did yesterday). But, I figured I'd finally get my 2 cents in now that I've got a good handle on the game. Alright, now, let me say first, I am a DIEHARD Wii Wheel fan. Omg... It makes me happy just to put it in my hands... Plus, I'm fairly adept with it (I can challenge all 32 Fast Staff Ghost times with it, Baby Luigi and the Bullet B
So, since school started last month, I have been MIA from the world of JoeUser and Stardock and whatnot... I know, ya missed me ;) It's alright though, I won't tell anybody. So, as a filler for those who may happen to stumble upon this, I'm a sophomore Computer Science major at the University of Michigan (it's in the States for those who haven't heard of it) Since I came into my freshman year with 30 credits (through this and that) I was "technically" a sophomore last year but
Hey... don't be dissin those still in school RomanDA :) we still have feelings...
O_o... bummer. I would suggest deleting your current one (should be in My Documents/Stardock/Dreams or something) then reinstalling... Sometimes they fail although they work... Its quite tramatic...
good thing i quit that place months ago :D ... And by that I means school started :'( ftw?
Sorry guys, I just returned to school, so that kind of took a priority for a while... (this is the first time I've really been on the forums since I released my first dream about... 3 weeks ago? Something like that... So, a while ago, I went online, and harassed the Stardock main base about it... There really isn't a whole lot that I can do from here... However, for those of you that have commented so far on the dream, check your PM. I have a present for you :)
You stole my seat!!! How dare you sir! :)
Sorry guys... It should have been released... I know that the problem is fixed so I'll continue to harass people there. I know that things are a little busy at Stardock but that's no excuse!
Sci-Fi is by far a personal favorite. If I wanted realism I'd take a walk outside :D
Reading before bed is always nice. I prefer going outside and finding a nice tree to perch up on so you can get some shade but still be outside (you may want to bring a beach towel for this one). Also... I do get quite a bit of reading done while taking care of "business" in the restroom around the house... As long as that doesn't gross you out (some of my friends thinks it's weird) then it's a golden time!
So, a little background... I go to school in about... 3 weeks. I need new books to read instead of doing my homework/study. Last year I went through a plethora of books (the entire Harry Potter Series, a bunch of Redwall books by Brian Jacques, some Garth Nix, more stuff by David and Leigh Eddings and a little Kurt Vonnegut for fun). I was wondering if anybody could suggest some good, new reading material to entertain me! Stand-alone or series! Thanks!
It still hasn't been released :NOTSURE: Stardock fail X-( Soon though. I know you guys are waiting patiently so we're trying to ensure that the next release fixes a large variety of issues.
Why ID, the reason everybody buys SUVs! So you can run over the stupid little energy efficient cars so the end costs behind driving are about the same :) (i drive a JEEP Grand Cherokee... and yes I'm being serious :D )
Question 1 : Well... that depends on the dream! All video dreams are scalable, croppable, etc. Many of the video dream creators will either state which resolution they created the dream in or release multiple versions with different resolutions. But regardless, those dreams are all scaleable like a standard desktop background picture. The other type of dream, dynamic dreams, automatically scale with your screen and resolution. The free test version of deskscapes comes with a few dynamic dreams a
This week. Day unknown. Get ready... :D
Please wait as I go beat up my bosses :) Soon. Or so I've been told. They're waiting for the DeskScapes patch to be perfectly good. Hopefully soon. Or else somebody is gonna get da smackdown laid on them :). Wish I had more specific days or anything more helpful but as an intern, don't get to really make these decisions, just gotta live with them. So, I shall continue pleading, just to make sure it wasn't put on hold :)
What does the error say? And which dreams in specific are you trying to run?
T'would be quite cool for it to be a custom setting and that's what I'm planning on doing if I have time but with only a few weeks left in my internship here want to make sure functionality comes first ya know ;)
What are teh restrictions?
Restrictions are : cannot involve a commonly used keystroke command, cannot be a dynamic setting, cannot involve clicking on the desktop/only having the desktop visible.
I mean, would a double-tap of teh caps lock key work? Or would it have to be something like [Alt]-[D]?I like double taps.
Double taps are perfectly exceptable and are a grand idea :)
So, for those of you that don't know, I've been working on making some cool new Dynamic Dreams. Only problem is, these Dynamic Dreams have some fancy new keyboard and mouse input commands! (ooohh!! super fancy!) I've been having a problem though... Nobody wants their computer to be actively running mouse input (wasting a little CPU usage) when they're not looking at their desktop. It just doesn't make sense to have an object on your desktop following your mouse around when you can't s
As one of the few Mac users that works at Stardock (oh no! those exist! no waiz!), I feel like I should do my shpeel... Steve Jobs = tool. Bill Gates = tool. However, computers = friends. I use my MacBook with both Mac OS X Tiger and Windows XP and my world hasn't exploded (...yet) :). Who cares who's came first? As long as they work then I don't think it matters. As for Jobs saying that Mac created the Dock or whatnot, I have one thing to say to him... Mr. Jobs, sir. I created
Well... It wasn't so much a decision... more a mistake on my part :). I started here a few months ago and downloaded the newest DirectX SDK (Nov 2007) without realizing that all the dreams used Dec 2006. But, now it's fixed :D
