Nah it wasn't you. But the fact that you could be losing that badly in both towers and kills and come back to kill everyone reflects badly on the game's balance. I think I see a problem there. 4x crit on a hit that does 230 should be 1320. Not 2300. If you had 4x and then multiplied the result after that by 2x you would get in the area of 2300. But that means that crits stack by multiplying the total damage a

Any chance it was me? I played a game exactly like that... Regulus, 4 kills, 9 deaths... Dark Forces about to win(towers dead, war score too low for angels, citadel down to half hp). I got Ashkandar and started hitting others for 1,900-2,300. I also had some other items. Girdle, Mageslayer, cloak...some other artifact and some minor item...Slayer's Wraps, I think. I think Girdle was the first artifact(followed by Ashkandar)....helped to mow down the mass of troops quic
I would just like to add that Supreme Commander seemed to have the same problem. Especially on larger maps and/or more players involved. Large games (large map, large # of people, large quantity of units in play) would begin to stutter. I'm a bit surprised to see this happening. I'd always thought it was related to simulation speed and weaker machines bogging down from the growing complexity of the late game. In Supcom the unit count grew and grew o
I know that the devs already have the next patch already have it planned, but if you could influence the direction, what do you want to see in the next update/patch. For me what I want from the release of a more complex AI whether in battle or better pathfinding.
Hey! I thought you blasted me for wanting a harder AI! ;) Anyway, yea. Pathfinding and AI improvements. I ge
I put in a post here about the stuttering I'm getting. Is it the same thing? http://forums.demigodthegame.com/349457
Please list your system specifications. You may not meet the minimum requirement for the resolution you are trying to play at. When do you see the lag? How frequent is it? What is your sim value? (Can be seen in the score section) What is your framerate? (press the "/" key)
It happens to me as well. It crashes when I'm hosting and another player joins. When I attempt to maximize, I'm met by a gray screen and a fatal error in a new window. I don't know that the developers ignored it, but I think they have their hands full with trying to fix multiplayer. This is probably lower on the list.
Gonna bump myself...this is semi annoying. I can see the stutters when running around the map and also at the zoom-in at the end of game. Is there an issue with a recent patch and Nvidia cards/drivers or something? My Lan game (8 players, 2 human) ended with 7 sim speed for me and 6 sim speed for my ally...we're not being bogged down.
First off, I really enjoy the game. Ran great prior to the patch, but after this patch (4/22...2 patches ago, I believe), the game "Stutters." What changed to cause this? I hadn't changed anything post-patch when I went to play again. The "stutter" is most evident when the game first begins and the camera goes from a zoomed out view, to a rotating close up of the player's character. As it zooms in, you can see the "micro lag" or "stutter" or whatever you'd like t
Came to mention a few myself. "Rollover Data Error" I've encountered twice on Flags. I don't know any specific action by me that causes it. If I'm hosting a LAN game (I use Hamachi) and am minimized when a player joins, I can't maximize the game. I get a Fatal Error and a gray screen. After two patches ago(4/22?), (I'll make a separate thread for this in case it is specific to me) the game no longer runs "smooth." Smooth as

I do understand that it isn't easy to program a good AI. I do know programming, and no, I could NEVER program a better AI. But SO MANY games are released with piss-poor AI that the developers didn't even try to fix. Supreme Commander/Forged Alliance is a good example...they even released a cheating AI for it in the end that did nothing to fix it...just made the thing cheat....wasn't strategically any "better." Sins is NOT the worst AI. It's "fair to good"...I t
If the unfair AI is too easy, set yourself alone against a few teams of AIs. Even harder, go alone vs two or three unfair AI. True they don't coordinate as well as they could, but when you're the only target.. look out!
I did 8 players (one being me, the rest were Unfair AI) in teams of two. I won, and was rather bored crushing their planets one by one by the end game. Oh, and m
I have some of the same complaints and started my own thread about the Unfair AI before seeing yours. I'd like to add to this that the allied AI doesn't really co-operate with itself very well either. I always dominate research, capital ships, and economy is a juggernaut...I have more production capacity than I can use by endgame. Anyway, same complaints +1. Thought I'd register my vote for continuing AI improvements.
THERE'S A PAUSE BUTTON!!!! WHERE???
Do people actually play this by pausing to issue commands? I don't and even manage to micromanage my capital ships' abilities.
Try 9 Unfair AI's all aggressive, mod the gameconstant files to make them harder then, make them build defenses like crazy
I had thought that mods couldn't touch the AI's build/strategy tactics. How would you do this? Is anybody working on AI enhancements?
Solution -- don't be a wuss, and come play Sins in online multiplayer (aka the real Sins game) against live human opponents. Just click the Ironclad Online button, register an account, think of a player name, and you'll be good to go. You'll find that real opponents are much more challenging than AI. Also, contrary to popular belief, most online multiplayer Sins games don't last more than 2 hours.[/quo
The AI in Entrenchment IS more intelligent. I'll grant that. It'll avoid static defenses. Sometimes it'll even come around on the "back" phase lanes and attack from an unexpected angle. But my problems now stem from that if it doesn't beat me/us(allied friend) in the first 20 minutes, it plays an awful endgame! It'll build few capital ships (I build a lot), it won't level them well, it doesn't build endgame weapons, it definitely does not research much (I'm always #1..
I think this has been asked, but I'll ask again! Is your mod improving the AI in any way? Will the AI, when playing the XIN faction for instance, take advantage of all the new ships and structures? Will the regular TEC/Advent/Vasari AIs play any more intelligently than they do now? They can be rather stupid sometimes and I find well-programmed AI to be an asset to continued playing of an RTS.
I'm also curious to know if your mod will require Entrenchment. Personally, it looks better, more inclusive, and with more additions than the official expansions. I've been eagerly awaiting your mod for 7 months and would prefer to play it rather than the offical expansion. They really should hire you to work on Sins of a Solar Empire 2!
Put me on the list for complaining about this. Reloading 7-12 times to get near my friends in an allied game isn't an enjoyable use of time.
and will you please change your mind about providing a separate download of the patch, your funky system is all well and good but i like to archive particular patches so i can revisit the game years in the future and play my favourite mods.
"Thirding" the option. Providing standalone patches as a choice are a good way to keep many customers happy.
Greetings ManSh00ter, Excellent work from what I have seen in this thread. I would like to offer my services should you need assistance in any capacity on this project. Please feel free to contact me and let me know if you need additional help. In the Titan debate, I would like to make a recommendation. A good way to assure that Titans are end-game units would be through the research tree. My suggestion would be to have it as a last linked research option at the end of the
New music and the ability to pick starting positions in multiplayer games! Just thought I should tack that on since they're somewhat of "minor gripes" for me. Just to get in the same Galaxy with my ally on a random map took a half hour of restarts until it randomly put us there.
Ran into this same issue last night playing with my friend over the internet (him hosting, not using the servers). It looks like our game split about 15 minutes in. We can still chat in-game, see rankings and statistics, and get broadcast messages. What we see on screen is different, however. I can't see any advancements, colonizations, fleets, or battles since where the game split into two "alternate realities." Should we send our recorded games in? Thanks.
