I'm not sure if this will help but my brother and I have been playing with pretty close to the exact same hardware (two iMacs and a MacBook Pro running Win XP on Boot Camp) and we still get the sync error every time. I understand that the Laptop is going to have a different chipset but I would think it should still handle everything the same. We both updated to 1.12, tried again, and it lost sync again with the same style (this time, cutsom map, five teams of 2.) We saved and loaded, and it somehow preserved the sync loss, like we're both playing separate games and it saved them both. We had the second person's comp save and host it, same issue. Bummer, eh? Multiplayer LAN loses Sync without crashing... in Technical Sins Forums

My friends and I (3 of us) were playing a multiplayer game, and after about 1 hour, the game lost sync-- it still ran, I was still hosting, but each of our games had replaced the other Human players with AI. I have no idea how it happened. This is, though, the weirdest stable bug I've ever experienced. Oh, and, we also were playing us vs. AI, 3v3v3, on a custom map, if that helps.
