This is for anyone who's deciding whether or not to buy SOASE, and also for those of you who like to read a good war story, here you are. (some parts may be slow for seasoned Sins players, but keep in mind I'm explaining some factors for new players!) Just for those new players' benefits, I'm playing Sins of a Solar Empire with the expansion Entrenchment, where some features like star bases and anti-structure units come from. Plain or "vanilla" Sins might not
Ehh not my thing.
The scientist isn't on the ship, he's on the space station orbiting the asteroid Matsuda 1.
Well network/navy is everyone's own opinion. Until blair tells us! you know that it's gonna be something from far outa left field; our guesses won't come close.
Idk I just don't feel it.....mind you, I'm no fan of the robot idea either. I have my own idea, but I can't say cause it would give away a big part of Sinners [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Um it's in the beginning stages right now.......but its fantasy not sci-fi. people with the ability to use magic in the present day, pretty much. high school age. and of course the immortal battle between the Igram and the Stefari over the keys to the Watcher's prison. pretty basic, but not even done with the first chapter. sinners takes up most of my attention when i actually have time to sit down and write.
I usually make 3-4 civilian and military research structures (through the first 30-60 min of game) and then forget about them until i hav a solid fleet and lots of cash, and then i start making upgrades. just something to consider.
Possible, but can't be true for several reasons. One, the Advent have already arrived, and it was from the opposite direction as the Vasari. Two, they were from the opposite direction from the Vasari. (well kinda a mix there) But actually that's a really good idea (except for that it can't be true [e digicons]:P[/e] ). None of us even considered that.
A coldhearted algarythem would be quite unique to SINs as they wouldnt have any emotional hangups like the Vasari, Advent or TEC. Theyd be percise and have no need for diplomacy or underhanded tactics. Theyd be upfront and utterly unforgiving.
It's the emotional hangups as you call them of the three races that make them so interesting. if you replaced them and put in an indeferential computer-type player, it would just
wow i missed a lot. let's see if i can catch up.
these are naval terms. or most of them are.
im not denying that. I'm just saying you dont have to RESTRICT yourself to navy terms. not abolish them.
if this game were real,
we pretty much decided on this already, but ill reiterate it. sins isn't real, so there's no point in discussing what would happen i
Yeah I'm sorry I've been super busy with school work and everything, haven't had time to write Sinners OR my actual novel that i hope to publish! (insert sadness for me here) But Sinners has been going on for almost a year now (November 28 will be the reunion!). Just a tad of info there. Sinners is currently: 143 pages long, including a title page and table of contents (which i think is 2 pages now). there is no new page given for each new chapter, so in a normal book
and therefore boring. sorry allegiance, but i cant go along with this one. there's no appeal to them.
why isnt squadron an option? in the modern navy/airforce, squadrons refer to both fighers and groups of ships (wings also refer to fighters, but that doesnt seem applicable here; unless you want to say a carrier cap carries a wing of fighters/bombers). also, a large number of planes are are also referred to as a fleet - it is not merely a naval term anymore.
because there are already fighter and bomber squadrons. there's

Repeat and rinse until there’s no one left to fight with.... LAME!! A good point! However that part in particular will be down to AI programming (both MP ans SP) because the AI would have to stop that from happening - in theory any race that had nearly won a hard fought war woul

These are the temporary ship groups that I've thought of for the three races. Advent (from smallest to largest): knuckle, arm, fist, fleet Vasari (smallest to largest): leaf, root, branch, fleet TEC (MOST unimaginative, from smallest to largest): strike force, task force, division, fleet We can't dismiss fleet because every race uses the term in the game. our fleet is under attack! so that's the largest group as it is the most commonly used to fight war with. but for l

Yeah I was trying with mediafire but it wasn't working. moved them to photobucket and they were fine. hav to find time to type it all up! i wrote it while watching the replay, and the first hour and a half is 10 pages.....epic battles....
Well like how we said earlier in this thread, women used to be part of the Vasari Empire but they are now extinct, making the Vasari 100% male. Just wanted to restate that. And I think the egg idea is the most plausible.
I think what i'd most like to see is like an actual campaign mode for both single and multiplayer modes.
Look at this thread here. It has some really great ideas about how a campaign might work into sins and what it would entail (hope thats the word i mean to say). EDIT: kind of hard to see, but "this" in the first sentence is a hyperlink.
