First of all, I agree with you, but the Admiral position has to be the highest rank in the TEC, or it'll completely change the whole dynamic of the TEC storyline for part 2. So I have to stick with it. So the Admiral position has metaphorically evolved by this point, so the Admiral or Admiralty position (giving it a royal flavor) is the most coveted position in the TEC and the pretty much "king" of the Emergency Coaliton. And king meaning he makes up all the hard decisions, though he

@Allegiance - sterotypes are a very human nature, unfortunately. What I'm saying is that men can do what women do easily, but it would be hard for them and they wouldn't be trusted by women, cause there's the sterotype that all men are weak. Obviously that is not true, that is the Advent sterotype. Nowhere did I say all women are stronger than all men. I said several times that GENERALLY, or ignoring anomalies like a strong man or a weak women, this is how something woul
..........I'm going to do the thread a favor and not respond to that.
Psychic ability amongst the Advent population can be made analogous to height in the world's population. On average, men are taller than women, but not all men are taller than all women. So, applying this analogy to the Advent, on average, women are more psionically talented than men, but not all women have stronger psychic talents than all men. So, it is entirely possible that one man with unusually powerful psychic talents could b
The Wheel of Time series is without doubt my favorite books of all time. I love you. And yeah, the things the Advent can do with PsiTech are very much like what the Aes Sedai can do, and how there's different degrees of power with both. I'd be glad to read your ideas.
I was thinking about just leaving Admiral as the highest position.
Out of all this discussion, there is no mention of the Aluxite Dynasty? The Opening Cinematic does mention this era of humanity's existence, though briefly. The reference goes along the lines of: "When the Aluxite Dynasty fell, the Trade Order suspended its agenda and rebranded itself as the Trader Emergency Coalition." In fact, if you pay attention to the faction names of neutral militia, one of them is called the Aluxia
I don't think there's any one person with the powers of an emperor in the TEC, or Trade Order, as we've decided they're two separate things, right? I think there would be something like a committee of people, can't remember the word for some reason, who run each planet, a committee above them to run a region of planets (around one star), a committee above that and so on and so on. All elected. Things would still be streamlined because the committee on the planet level would focus on i
@Allegiance86 - All Advent have PsiTech, but men for the most part have very little. That's what Advent lore basically tells us. Oh, I forgot to mention why women would have to be the ones working in the bridge. An Advent ship runs by its bridge psionically linking with its crew/parts of the ship, like the engine and antimatter chamber. So anyone without psionic power would not be able to power an Advent ship, as it runs on PsiTech. So men would not usually be able t
COMPLETELY off topic. but it looks tempting, ill admit that.
to be perfectly honest, there is very little actual history here. how it was founded, really, and how it ended. the only thing in between you would care about would be the expulsion of the advent. unless you enjoyed endless red tape and the minutae of the smallest, least important laws
Maybe not, but lore doesn't always have to be history (though thats usually what it is). We can fill up that huge empty hole of time with our id
@Allegiance86 - that could very well be what happened, excluding the first five sentences [e digicons][/e] . It seemed like you were describing the next stage of what I had spoken about, after a separation from Earth and the foundation of new planets. But I didn't like how they just lost communication with Earth, and that's how they split. It just seemed too "easy." I'd like to think there was a falling out between two groups (doesn't hav to be my idea, just this general scenario [e di
Hmm....true. Although maybe at the time of this upgrade, a low-level woman comes aboard your ship to hold the molecules together. Or a low-level woman presence is transfered to a host on the ship. Either way, I think that makes more sense than having a women on each ship for the possibility of being needed.
The Sins forum is like devoid of inhabitants. It's so sad. I don't remember seeing more than 50 different names posting comments recently.
@Swordsalmon - Definitely something to consider. Here's my opinion though. Maybe another 20-30 years after what I mentioned above, maybe longer, some individual Trader worlds are attacked by large groups of pirates, intent on carving out a base in a nearby asteroid. Unable to hold back the pirates, the Traders on those planets retreat to the safety of the surface, as pirates don't have siege frigates yet. The other Trader worlds, outraged at this incident, send a joint military f
Yeah, Carbon, post the TEC ship summaries on your thread here. Me and Allegiance are doing that for our threads too [e digicons][/e]
Ok, I'm actually excited now to try and make the Vasari angle on the History of the Spirits. I'll definitely rework it, but it'll still take time. In the meantime, what else is there to talk about? (oh, put up the Vasari ship summaries! that was a good idea.)
Oh I have that manual as a pdf document in my Sins of a Solar Empire folder. But I'm not really good at coming up with why a ship was designed. I can copy and paste the material in there for each ship though, for sure. And you should do that for the Vasari ships, and Carbon should do that for the TEC. (Carbon, you reading this?)
My thoughts on how the Trade Order originated (as they had to come from humanity somehow). Also the creation of the Advent, but I don't go into them much. So of course this has to be staged on Earth. This is perhaps 50-100 years before the creation of the Trade Order, instead, this is the creation of the Endeavors Party. This political party had radical new expansionist policies it wanted enacted, and it was based in the North American Union (that being the country the U.S.,
Yes but I was going on the manual lore. As stated in the OP. They created the TEC. And I think your first post is going on the base that their are sepreate legislative, executive and judical brances of the TO. Not what I was thinking. There is only one. Because every member is allowed to have their seperate goverment. There is no need to create more polictical red tape by adding lots of different branches and sections to each branch.
Ehh....when I have some free time. But don't hold your breath on it. It would help if you told me clearly what parts you wouldn't like me to keep? It'll be tricky for me because it's basically all about the Spirits, and that's the part you didn't want in it, if I remember right.

Agreed. You seem to have some ideas already, though. Share? [e digicons]:')[/e]
I'm not going to comment on what's chasing the Vasari cause that's all tied up in my story and I'm trying to keep that separate. BUT... @RubicantX - I agree, the Vasari, TEC, and Advent would never unite. Temporary truces, but never unite. If something was chasing the Vasari (expanding blast radius or otherwise), each race, if they all ran, would run in different directions, and may the best one survive. Or if they'd stay they'd fight their enemies along with whatever came after the V
Does no one read my posts!?!?! It says in the intro movie that the TO rebranded itself as the TEC! That means it changed the government from the ground up! Even if only temporarily, its still the same idea! Also, read my first post for information regarding legislative power.
