Advent Origins and other Mythology (and some history too) in Sins of a Solar Empire Stardock Forums

So this is the Advent version of the original Vasari history thread ( http://forums.impulsedriven.com/363669 ) and the new TEC history thread ( http://forums.impulsedriven.com/364997 ). Basically, this is a spot where the Sins community can place all their thoughts on anything that has to do with Advent history and culture, and we as a group can decide what we'd like to actually have

The highest ranking officer of the TEC (admiral?) is also the political extension of the TEC. The TEC is actually just the military force of the Trade Order, though the Order has been pushed to the back as the TEC deals with the war. But people in the TEC refer to the Trader worlds as a whole as part of the Trade Order, not the Trader Emergency Coalition. So what I'm saying is the TEC is just like a political party (one with really big guns) and the Trade Order is the actual group of people.

I'll address the alponians thing first, cause thats down at the bottom where i can see it right now. just to clear it up. they would be like bacterial slugs, in that they were injected into the bloodstream and allowed to run amok inside the body, changing the dna code in the cells to turn them Vasari. It does but it wasn't what I was asking about. I don't really mean morals (don't think the Vasari are big on those) but just the things you learn from experience and not from being taught (or downloaded via nanites). What kind of situations would the young Vasari be put into to bring out or learn these other qualities? (cant really put a name on them, just the stuff that you learn by living.) I think the Vasari would put the young Vasari in specific situations to speed up the learning process

I like that idea. Like it a lot. But what about the stuff that can't be downloaded? You kinda touched on that when you said only lessons and not moral beliefs would be downloaded. what about courage and decisiveness and things like that? What about ideals? How would young (in the sense of a "new" Vasari, not just child-age Vasari) learn or create a personal opinion on these things?
