This is kind of pissing me off. The only Steam Achievement I have left to complete is Raider which states, "Raid 25,000 resources with Vasari raider corvettes." I've played 3 games with Vasari in which I made a point to use Tosurak Raiders to steal more than 25,000 resources...two as Alliance and one as Exodus. One was a single-player game and the other two were multiplayer with a friend. In the two multiplayer games, I made sure that I raided well over the 25,000 re

Since the December 2025 update, both my friend an I have found that the F5 Quicksave doesn't work anymore. I've tried it in Multiplayer and Single Player, both random maps, but the hotkey does nothing. I haven't changed any hotkeys since before the patch and my friend is experiencing the same issue. I've tried remapping the key to F6, still nothing. Remapped back to F5, nothing. If I hit Escape, then Save, and put in a name for the save, it will save. &nbs
FYI, as of the last update (Dec 2025), I have consistently played on maps with a random Desert planet. Much more enjoyable. Thanks! -Gill
Hm...apparently, I've just been incredibly unlucky, then. Though assuming I'm reading that file right, a City Planet has the lowest probability of spawning, yet the last two games I've played with a friend both had a City Planet in them. Both were 5 player Random and neither had a Desert or Terran planet. -Gill
I've played 30-40 games with Random 5 and 6 player systems and have never found a desert planet that was randomly generated. I've seen random Terran and random Ferrous (TEC and Vasari homeworlds) but never Desert. Is this a bug, or do I get incredibly unlucky? Sure, new planet types are nice, but just once, I'd like to play a game as Advent and be able to colonize a DIFFERENT Desert planet. -Gill
On the subject of repulse, how about changing it from an AoE to a single target ability that really knocks a ship across the grav well. Won't stop a fleet but will break it up to an extent reducing incoming damage.
Wow...I had no idea that Repulse was an AOE (not having ever used it). I can't believe that all this time I've thought Repulse was single target...I wonder where I got that impression.
one reason why I dont like the Advent, their "godly abilities" prevent you from actually keeping the game balanced.
I have to agree. I LOVE playing Advent, but have always felt they seemed a bit too strong. And I have never used Repulse. I researched it once (my first ever game) but never used it. I'd have no problem if it was removed, though I'm sure many other skilled Advent players would object,
I really need to stop reading these threads....I find it kind of depressing reading about all the Advent hate. So, is there a reason why just upping the cost of an Illumintor isn't a good resolution? Maybe another 100 credits and 40 crystal or so? I don't know how often Advent players research the Illusion tech, but I usually don't. If its underused or considered too powerful, maybe redesign it so that a stock Illuminator fires only the forward beam and the additional
In 1.05 the Subverter was effective at fighting Illuminator fleets. TEC was screwed. In 1.10, that responsibility moved to Strikecraft, but they themselves were declared OP and have since been nerfed. The current Illuminator actually does 10% less damage than it did in 1.05, but it feels stronger because the counters have all been nerfed.
Aha! Although I was a bit bummed about the Illuminator
Over the weekend, I tried my own test with 1v1 Illuminator vs Assailant (along with a few other matchups I was curious about). Unfortunately, I don't have any replays (never tried to make one). The map was Quickstrike and the fights were done in the sun's gravity well (neither ship uses AM anyway). I turned off auto-attack until both ships entered the grav well and were out of range of the other ship. I then turned on auto-attack on both ships at the same time. <p
I wasn't sure where to post this...I'm not doing any modding, and I don't think this is a technical issue, so I chose General to see if anyone can offer some advice or direct me to a good resource. I'm trying to make a simple, 2 star system with 1 home planet at each star. I've set each star with a pirate base (planet group 0) and for Planet Group 1, I include a Terran Home planet, a Random Asteroid, a Volcanic, an Ice, and a Desert Planet (just 1 of each). In additio
Transitive, Thanks for your response. I had considered this as well and the last two games, I completely ignored Resource Focus and didn't feel like I was missing anything. Thanks for making it simple. -Gil102
It seems the more I read about trade ports and how they work, the less I understand it. As an Advent player (primarily), I have to make a decision every game whether to switch a trade port to resource focus or not, or just throw up another Trade port and have one do resource focus for each of my planets (I've read that resource focussed trade ports for Advent ONLY affect the gravity well they are in whereas other factions can have 1 refinery for every couple of planets). If the
I primarily play Advent and try to build my fleet around the trio of Radiance, Progenitor, and Halcyon. However, I tried a couple games as Vasari and Tec but found I greatly missed my Radiance's 'Taunt' ability. Admitedly, these games were Single player and I imagine in MP games, such an ability wouldn't be as useful. I found the Dunov nice for its Shield Restore ability, but I didn't find it as effectice as the Progenitor's Shield Regen. I tried the Vasari car
I'd have a hard time choosing between the Radiance, Progenitor, and Halcyon. Normally, I start off with a Radiance (and colony ship), then try to get out a Progenitor asap. Once I start having to deal with smaller enemy fleets, I'll get a Halcyon out. I always go for shield recharge first with the Progenitor and turn off the auto-cast. Keeping the fleet in tight formation, I rarely even lose a frigate in a fight. Heck, I can't even remember the last time my Radiance (with Animosity and Abso
