To the people that say you have to have steam running to play your games, You are completly wrong. I use Offline mode almost all the time.
I haven't used steam as much as usual this past year, but I used to use it all the time for valve games and I've only ever had problems with Online mode. It always asked me to go online to sign into my account so that I could go offline. What's the point of offline mode if you have to go
I think that after a stun wears off the player needs to recieve a buff that prevents stuns for a short period of time (maybe ten seconds).
This has come up in another thread that I can't find at the moment. If I come across it again I'll link it here.
actually steam got some realy good points. the greatest is that it was the first kind of these system
See, people do that a lot. How does being the first make you better? Directly? Indirectly, they've had the time to get better, but that's all just potential. How does being the first one make Steam better then Impulse? Also, indirectly/potentially, Impulse could have learned from Steam's mistakes.
Voice chat with overlay.
*ahem* I said dispairzor... :-P yeah, but would that work while using the impulse reactor? and even so, then you wouldn't be in the demigod irc chat, that could be annoying having two different groups (steam and SD) that couldn't communiacte with each other. Or am I totally off base here?

why would you want it on steam? You don't even need to open impulse to run it, wheras you'd have to open steam to run it if you went through steam. You really want to add more stuff to have running on your computer that you don't need? despairzor, im curious, what benefit do you get for having it with steam? EDIT: insanetitan totally just ninja'd my post!
Public Beta? More like "Public" Beta. It's not exactly a case of "wanna beta? Come right in!" which is what an actual public beta would be.
It's public as in it is possible for anyone to be in it. Anyone can buy Demigod and get the beta, it's not restricted to people who have experience at testing games or something.

Equal opportunities and all that
Sedna's a good demigod, and it's already balanced since Queen of Thorns is bad. I do agree that there should be more female demigods though.
The last I heard it's $5 + S&H. But that was before the price drop, so I'm hoping all we have to pay is S&H.
I beleive the price drop was only for the digital version. If you want the collecter's edition (the upgrade), I think it is still $49.95 + S&H

I have a 2Wire router and I have SBC Yahoo high-speed (or at least they say its high speed) DSL internet . I'm in Europe on vacation right now, so I can't tell you how well it works at the moment with the new patches, but in 3A it seemed to do alright, I'd say answer C, or maybe B.

moko, the point of the universal gadget is that you don't buy it knowing what you are going to use it for. If you know you'll use it to heal, then it makes a lot more sense to get a potion. You are paying extra so that when you are in the midst of battle you don't go, 'dang I wish I could have hit him with one more burst of damage' as your enemy runs back to base.

I have absolutely no idea how plausible this is, but do we even need a grid? Would it not be possible to give a unit a number of 'steps' and depending on if it is a person or a mount, each step is a measurment in distance away from the unit. I realize that if you want to step onto a specific space to say, attack an army, that could be problematic, but maybe it could be set so that you have a circle around your unit and that anything inside that circle can be activated. Again, I do not
Why doesn't Rook spill candy when he dies?
HAHAHA that would be an amazing way for the rook to die. There would be so much candy everywhere that everyone would get sick from eating too much. It would be like the rook's version of erebus' poisonous potion! or something...
I agree, but I also think that it's not always wrong to draw comparisons between the two, since they are similar, whether people like it or not. I think it's worthwhile to at least discuss whether or not the addition of some aspect of DotA (or any other game for that matter) would be beneficial to Demigod, even if the ultimate conclusion is that it would not be. Open discussion is always better than immediate dismissal.

I still think that, since it will count as a loss against every player, then every plaer should have to agree, but at the same time, if not being able to convince everyone just leads people to leaving the game instead, that isn't any good either.
