I actually like the background image, if you mouse around it gives you interesting information :)

Mooster, I have no idea why you would say that vista was somewhere near ME... the lifecycle? And anyone who knows anything about computers knows that every piece of software has it's flaws... EVERY piece of software. Google's is that I know a person that works for them :P But, whatever everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think they're headed in a great direction, Vista x64 is actually the most stable version of the windows operating system I've run :D
I'd honestly say that microsoft is rolling out some interesting tech... The bing maps system is much more interesting to me than Google Earth, in browser (using IE) 3d navigation... Also, they've got their own SketchUp style modeler called 3DVIA made by Dassault Systemes. It's beta and there are a few things it doesn't do very well, but it was almost easier to pick up and understand than SketchUp. So far, for being in it's infancy, Bing is looking pretty good. Add in t
Tkins, I'd refer you to an older post of mine... It seems pretty cool, but that's not what I'm into at the moment, by RPG I mean, a more traditional style RPG... western-ish...
There will be more to come more often... we're not talking about an extended multi-year development cycle... it may only be a few months ;)
So, imagine a guy who's only ever wanted to make games. You might know one, heck, you might know two. They might even be brothers. They might even have a few different skillsets that could be used to develop a game. Now imagine that they're trying to find their niche. What kind of game to make? How do they go about this? Do they start with drawings, or with verbal ideas? Sure, it may sound easy enough, but is it really that easy?&nbs
Blender is actually the least convoluted interface I've run across... although my favorite modeler is Rhino.
Alway, I had forgotten about that. With my current frame and engines I can only achieve 3760. But I'm glad you at least gave the game a go. I've also been waiting for Infinity. I do hope they achieve something other than just the combat prototype.
I'll probably be deleting my facebook account, if I can ever figure out how.
Your combat performance completely depends on your abilities as a pilot. Which include your ability to manage the following: Shield/Weapons energy Shield mitigation (forward, rear, left or right shields) Countermeasures Weapons Preference (Particle, beam or both) Manoeuvring (this includes strafing on the x and y axis and the usage of "afterburner") One more thing... IDS (Inertial Dampening System) or Inertial mode. For high speed "jousti
I tried to get into the following games this weekend... Oblivion: Didn't work, my mod installs aren't organized properly... Fallout 3: Not that excited about it, I've already put dozens of hours into it... Sins of a Solar Empire: Yeah, I just couldn't get into the mode for it. Not enough time or... I dunno. What I did play this weekend? Evochron Legends: I've been having a blast with the multiplayer, doing co-operative contracts with a coupl
wilebill, I'll try and help you as best I can. What about your memory, are you running with dual channel? What about antialiasing/anisotropic filtering? (I'm going out on a limb here because I have no idea what your system specs are.) The next section is because I'm lazy... pulled from the tech support forum. Dual Channel - On DDR capable systems, enabling dual channel can have a dramatic impact on performance. Most systems made in the last few years s
wilebill, I'll have to say this first off. Evochron Legends isn't a mission based space combat simulator. The military contracts are presented and delivered similarly to the civilian contracts. If you're looking for a space combat sim, Legends might not be for you. Evochron Legends is an open ended lone wolf simulator. This changes with multiplayer though, as there is support for a Clan ID system. So I guess you're not really alone if you're in a clan
Alway, the game isn't trying to be an MMO, which is what you've compared it to, yes the graphics are lacking. I appreciate your opinions and your quick response. Remember that the development team for this Independent title is one person. The reason for the lack of newtonian physics as you describe them, is to make the game more feasible to players. Also, the keyboard controls are limited yes, but I use a combination HOTAS/Keyboard while I play.
Dae's review of Evochron Legends . Now, I'm going to tell you this upfront in case you missed the title, that this REVIEW IS BIASED . I'm not a paid employee of anyone, however the space combat/exploration genre has captured my imagination since I first played Wing Comm
heh, stardog follows me everywhere I go on on stardock.com in IE :(
We have been spending the last few months wondering what to create and why we should create it. But I think we've settled on a few interesting ideas, all of which revolve around artwork created in MSPaint. And for those of you interested in what kind of things we'll be doing I'm allowed to say this. Guns Guns VEHICLES and Isometric That's about it so far. There will be more in a few days I'm sure, and over the next few weeks hopefully some screenshot
I actually really enjoy the UI for Alone In The Dark. Probably one of the best inventory interfaces ever conceived.
Having grown up through the late eighties and early nineties in a small two bedroom single-wide trailer, shared with my mother, father, two sisters and younger brother I believe I have a unique gaming experience. If it didn’t have more than one player, we just wouldn’t get it. Our father, 57 now, was an avid gamer in the seventies and eighties, and even through today. He’s probably playing GriD as I write this. So, naturally, we had a C64, NES and a Genesis. Every game we ha
Actually, walking into any game with high expectations is a pretty much failed proposition. They never live up to the hype, but for what it is, Spore isn't horrible, it just is.
The Orb and the Oracle Ghostbusters ArmA2 FlashPoint2 The next installment in the IL2 Series (not Birds of Prey, the PC version) The list of games I would buy if they didn't use steam, well... that's a long list indeed
