Sean, thanks for explanation. But i believe you will agree, that glass cannon spam is terribly annoying and the fact, that you can make a hero, that will single handedly obliterate everything in its path is bad. Kongdej, raise and lower terrain is ok. But its so basic they are not worth mentioning. Compare it to AoW2 and you will see what i mean. I can be inconsistent, but some parts of E:FE that annoy me most are the parts i loved in AoW2 and MoM most. I'll definit

I was going thru my regular "going back to good old games" routine lately and i finally figured out, why the heck Stardock is still one step behind when it comes to reimplementing stuff that was great 10+ years ago. Lets start. Map: In both GalCiv2 and E: FE there is influence thingie, which is not bad at all. Really. It adds some depth and maybe it has its uses, but currently i do not think its as good as it should be or as useful as should be (its not much so for Gal

Well Demigod3k is actually right about steal/copy thing. Copying means someone wont get their money, but technically - nothing is stolen. I never bought a single game before d/l'ing it from torrents and trying it first (well, actually, i just lied to you. I bought King's Bounty and Demigod right away:)). I dont trust demo's. I'm not stealing anything - coz if i dont like the game - i wont either play it or buy it. So publisher get zero money anyway, i dont get the game and NOTHING is stolen i

Concerning pings, latency and all that stuff. I'm in Moscow, so compared to USA - its like other side of the world. I did few tests at speedtest.net to check my ping to different parts of EU and US. I also played few RU-only games, just to be sure. The results are following: RU only - 50 ms. Ppl were all across Russia, so it way better than many lans. Really. Only problem i seen - guy had really shitty bandwidth so he jumped to 500_ ms after game star

IIRC you can unregister any serial-based game from your account and then register it for another. Click blue "?" button at top right of Impulse window -> register product with Impulse -> right-click one of your Demigod serials -> Write the serial down -> Remove. Now register it with another account. Easy peasy.

Ok. I finally managed to get over all my network problems. The answer is simple: either Demigod does NOT use the ports specified, or they are modified by ISP (i doubt that tbh). I changed from port forwarding to DMZ (Windows Firewall + NOD32 enabled) - and now i can get into Pantheon game w/o any issues. GG

Emmm... i see alot of pro customers over here, eh? Bitching around doesnt do anyone any favor anyway. So far i havent had any issue with registering Stardock products (tho for Russia its a bit more complicated than for anyone else). And anyway i prefer to stay informed than to be left w/o any info on the matter. Stardock cant control all parts of the process. They cant copntrol what happens in every retail store etc etc. You want zero hassle? Buy it all in Impulse! Its simple, its fas

2dustbeta, as far as i understood from Watchguard site Firebox is like mini preconfigured antispam/antivirus/blah-blah-blah solution. I suggest you check if all ports are forwarded properly, then disable and the anti- stuff on firebox and try again. My guess will be its the IPS system thats giving you trouble.

2Monk, thats what i thought... lets hope all the kids will be gone tomorrow. At least for a while. 2dustbeta, you have a block of white IP's at home? You absolutely sure about that? Or you just have 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x type static IP's configured for your local network?

Oks. I configured everything. dd-wrt router(SPI and UPnP disabled) with udp 6100-6200 ports forwarded along with 6073 UDP. Firewall down, connection is rock-solid, ISP does NOT block p2p traffic. Its DSL connection with dedicated IP. "You have been disconnected from NAT Facilitator." Who the heck is that? I managed to play to play 2 games so far, but atm every time i'm trying to play custom or Pantheon game - i get this message as soon as i fail to connect to one

Ok guys and girls. Its actually easy. You updated your Sins or installed it and it either just plays original Sins or minidumps. And you cant uninstall it. Do the following: 1. Close impulse. 2. Delete Sins folder 3. Start impulse 4 Right click Entrenchment and click Install 5. It will ask you for Sins install. Click Install thats it. It will DL Sins and Entrenchment and will install it properly. Have fun!

Very interesting discussion i must say. All that pirate vs. game-making-company thing is old as world , but here we see it coming to a new level :) At one side we have Stardock - the company which i respect greatly (especially after that "hope you wont be our customer u lame warez kiddie" by Frogboy, +1 karma :)). At another side - THE PEOPLE (who want things made as easy as possible for em). As a torrent user (yes, i always d/l games and check e

IIS? I feel your pain... We switched from IIS+ASP to Apache+ PHP. Now our biggest moneymaking software runs 2 times faster, 10 times smoother and with 100 times less errors. Not to mention we were able to cut the HW costs by 30%.
