I think the skin you use is causing this trouble. I had used Aquamarine theme and when I go to change my dream, the same thing happens to me..... But I thing CarGuy is right. You Must update your drivers
There are many docks for download. Object Dock , Rocket Dock , Dell Dock and others. But one that comes to my attention is Circle Dock 0.9.2. This one is similar to Windows 7 Dock. You can change it center image, change its location, change its animations frame rate and you can also add custom items on the dock. But something good must have some cons. When you click on an item, it does not glow like object dock. It also does not start during startup. it is a great dock program,
