Have SOSE and GalCiv II installed, and those games run fine. But when I try to open install, to update or for any reason, it just never opens. No message or anything is displayed; I just click the impulse button, i get the hourglass for about a second, and then nothing. Not sure what to do. Running Windows 7, and I tired running Impulse as administrator, but that didn't help.

I just had a few questions about early game strategy (I play against AI's only... *deep sigh*)... I) Form what I've gathered, it seems like the biggest key to sucess in late game is to planet grab in ealry game. But I have trouble doing this, since it's hard enough for me to build a small fleet to remove militias, but how can you make a defensive fleet? If I have more than three points that I need to defend, I get swarmed by enemies. My counter to this was to build the maximum amount
Um, so it has initial size and maximum size; what am I doing here?
Has that helped you with SINS? And by "2.5 X", do you mean 2.5 times your installed ram? Like, I would use 7.5?
Umm... I'm mildly computer illiterate, so what is pagefile?
I keep getting lag issues as the game progresses... at first everything is running smoothly, but after about two hours the fram rate slows down, and at four it's almost unbearble to watch. I more than meet the system requirments (I have 3gig ram, a NVIDIA 8800 GT graphics card, and a quad processor), so why is this happening? Is there any way to fix it? I updated to v1.05, but that didn't help.
I have to agree with a lot of the points made here; SINS would be much better if scale was improved: I would rather have a solar system with only a few planets, but each of those planets could have moons, which could be exploited (Maybe instead of building research labs in space, you would have to build them on orbiting moons, and instead of mining asteroids you could mine them also). Also, there should be a orbiting defense station. I often find myself going through all the trouble to bomb a pl
Newb wiht a question here... When you download v.1.05, are you also downloading all fixes before (v.1.02-1.04)?
