This is the mod I point people to when they claim that sins combat is boring! How goes the conversion? I can't wait till it comes out for entrenchment. I made a cheap version of this ages ago when I was still experimenting. Basically bumped up the fighters everything carried, and tried to give almost all the ships fighters too. It was a disaster sadly :P Yours far outshines any ideas I've come up with so far, good work man.

somebody might want to correct me but I think if you preorder, you go into some sort of waiting list. When the next beta becomes availible, you can download it via impulse. I'm not so sure if the window for getting the beta is still open, someone from SD should be albe to confirm that.
And some funny quips should be included. We all need funny quips.
Okay. Some General ideas in Small, Medium and Large :D The way I have it done is to make it progressively more RTSey the futher I go. It is advised that you implement the previous difficulty levels, which I left out to save on space (so, using Medium changes means you should implement Small ones too) SMALL: Make generals weaker and minions stronger. They should have to rely on their minions a LOT more they currently do. MEDIUM: Make items the generals buy add buffs to the army
I played X2. Bought it at game traders without a manual. My first ten minutes into the game resulted in me ejecting from my ship, and drifting into space. Freelancer, though, I have played through to the end. Three times. Went online, made a clan, and cried (inside, outside crying is unmanly [e digicons]:-"[/e] ) when I found out MS was shutting down the main server controlling the multi. The reason Freelancer is univerally loved, and the X series has a much more particular appeal is that Fr
Perhaps they could only input dates? That happens a lot when they use a database to store all this stuff, which I'm happy to bet they do. also regarding this:
It would have been better if they said that the final version would be downloaded on the first quarter of 2009. Any businessman with common sense knows that any delay is bad business practice. I just hope that Ironclad and Stardock would keep their word that Feb 9
He burned us! Here's a description of PEBKAC: PEBKAC is an acronym which stands for "Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair". The phrase is used by computer experts as a humorous way to describe <a title="User error" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w
your guilt is implied when you mentioned the All-Father embarrasment of the poor UB. Besides, I need someone to keep me company in the pit realm. >_>
Alas, for we are the tabloid writers of the gods. I reckon the UB should be some powerful mage, and a spell backfired. It adds to the hilarity methinks. Also, please don't smite me [e digicons]:|[/e]
Hey all. I was cruising through the forums a while back (ok, yeasterday) and stumbled on a post with a basic outline of the backstory (was posted by frogboy, I think.) Anyway, the basic story was that one of the gods was breaking rules, got ... de-godded? and the others decided to round up the ex-god's mortal children to figure out which one should be more godly. My major problem with this is the unclean beast. from what I read of the backstory of him, he was spawned after a cree
So I guess all I can do is wait for the release and hope that Stardock allows us to make spawn copies? (I sincerely hope thay do [e digicons]:|[/e] ) Oh well, thanks for the info. Look forward to battling you all online [e digicons]*_*[/e]
Hey all. I got the demigod beta 2 today ( I copied it over and tried to register it with my stardock account. No dice. I also tried nstalling impulse and playing it. Nothing either. How can I show him the glory of demigod? (he doesn't want to download it) Any info will help!
yeah, I could do that, but I'd prefer to make a new one (for tactical reasons). That way they have to use more tactical slots, and will be more careful with item placement. I guess I could just fiddle with it until I come up with a new item I guess, and if it fails, I'm going to do the flack thing (and also change the speed at which the turret tracks the target, because it's too slow for fighters.) EDIT: fixed my grammar [e digicons][/e]
Hey all, it seems (like eveybody else in the forum) that I decided to make a mod changing the amount of fighters in the game. Not that I made only one cheap supercarrier, (although I did learn that your average aircraft carrier of today has something like 80 planes in it), I increased the aircraft capacity of all the ships that carry them, but I have one little problem. I set the "CanFireAtStrikeCraft" or whatever value it was for all base defence turrets to true, but they can't track the lit
Hey guys. Just checked with impulse to see if I could preorder Demi w/ paypal. Down here in Australia, the digital version is now about $75 (was $55). Boxed version is about $83. I know you can't pay with paypal until you start taking orders, but do you think you could increase the window for this so that the price isn't ludicrous? P.s: Looking forward to Beta 2, will preorder regardless, but cheaper would be nicer.
1. game settings will allow for creep spam, no need for custom maps. if not, simple gameplay mods will suffice. 2. yes. it's the Moho Engine (or a derivative there-of), all the awesomeness of modding in SupCom might be available in DG so long as SD gives it the go-ahead (that's the big issue, pressure StarDock for serious mod-support). last night i made a mod for SupCom that recalculates ALL the rat
Yeah, That could work. I figured the general could slap down a creep spawning building as an ability (perhaps you get more buildings or creeps spawning from them as you level up) and it would spawn creeps every now and then. The creeps would come in, say squads (dawn of war style) for lesser creeps, and you give the squad / control group an order instead on individually. This allows for some micro, but not enough to overwhelm new people. You could choose what creep type spawned from a buildin
Now I know I may be speaking out of turn here but (I don't actually *have* the beta just yet, but I searched the forum cand came up with bupkis..) anyway I need to know a few things: 1: Will there be map tools? (they don't have to exist just yet) Map tools would allow things like *very* large scale battles. (i.e. the map maker can spam the sides with creep making machines) We could have funky mazes or none at all. Imagine a nice flat battleground where the creeps just fan out int
Stardock is not the only one. Bethesda, for example, will have only a simple disc check on Fallout 3. This is viewed negatively by some in the gaming industry, but those are just people who still do not realize that the only ones benefitting from DRM are companies which produce and sell DRM security "solutions". To this day no DRM scheme has lasted more than a week or two at the outmost. If it's a program, it can be hacked.
SlyDrivel, I live in Australia, probably designated at the technological toilet of the developed whold, but hey, we cannot hope to live up the the supreme might of our American overlords. Secondly, [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisking"]Fisking[/link]is rude. Also, we do have a really crappy internet infrastructure. I have cable, so I was relating the problem or a friend (otherwise I wouldn't be here... I guess). But I digress. Stardock is right to feel morally smug compared t
I think you missed my point. Let's imagine you got a copy of Mass Effect for PC. Also imagine you have little or no internet. Mass Effect wants you to do internet verification periodically otherwise it assassinates your game. Now you head over to a buddy's house, download a 10 MB crack that skips the internet check. You can now use something otherwise rendered unusable due to DRM. Of course, now you're all jaded and bitter because you had to do something illegal to simply use the stupid thing, a
Piracy is driven by the fact that the price for dross we are forced to buy is now too high. On the other hand, you can go directly to the source, [link="http://torrentfreak.com/how-to-stop-warez-pirates-ask-them-nicely/"]as this guy did.[/link] Personally, I got Sins because they have a dim view of DRM. HAs anyone seen the lengths EA goes to make their rubbish uncopyable? I'd say the crippling DRM is simply a red flag to the cracker groups that make piracy possible, and just the right nud
EA has a habit of bad PR. Crippling DRM? Check. Kill games with expansion packs? Check. Release a sequel with only different models and names (think of pretty much all their sprts games)? Check. It's a miracle they've managed to survive for so long, but I guess they do that by buying out the competition. As someone mentioned before, Vote with your wallets. It might not help with the DRM and general crappyness, but maybe they'll run out of money :D. Imagine that: Waging war with a company with at
