Several minutes to amble across..? Not if you want the game to be between 20 to 40 minutes in length. Think about when you die? You've made it all the way over to enemy territory. You get killed, and put in timeout for a specified amount of time. Then you finally respawn and have to spend another 2 minutes walking to the other side of the map....? Yeah, you get, there, oops you died again. Another 3 or 4 minutes before you get back in the action. Even if the creeps spaw

Personally I can't stand the kagillion skills you have in WOW. 8 is alot less, but I would hope that at least half of those are passive. Having to manage more than 4 activable skills is a mess. Sure it may distinguish the ranks by skill, but don't forget there may be activable items too! Personally, I'd like to see every Demi with 2 core activable skills. Then maybe 1 or 2 more situation/ultimate activables, and then manage the items as best you can. Fill up the rest of the slots

Thumbs down deny. Why would you only get experience for the last hit? So you or your team take it down to 2% health doing 98% of the work and someone else comes in and kills it so you get no experience? fail. For Kill animations, forget 5 seconds. Say your normal attack is 1 second long. Then make the kill animation 1 second, just the final hit will be freakin awesome. Thumbs up random, particularly random Demi's and reward for doing so (diversity is good). Thumbs
I´ve read in the chat, that the beta will start after the Penny Arcade Expo which takes place on august 29th - 31st.
eh? what chat? That wouldn't really be an August beta then now would it... :(
innociv I think we can be pretty sure there will be at least 10 Demigods more likely something from 15 to 25. would be silly if you have to have one or more demigods in twice in a 5vs5 (and you don't really think they already revealed every Demigod they have, that would be like thinking there are only the 4 Different maps which were shown already.
Agreed. In my head I see 5v5 as the goal. I don't believe you should have duplicate demigods in the same match, particularly

actually, an actual chess game using the demigods/creeps would be very cool as a side game/easter egg. Remember Battle Chess from long ago? (chess with kill animations).
I hate to mention DotA, but isn't it patched practically every 2weeks? Because it needs to be, it has so many balance aspects that need tweaking frequently. I doubt Demigod will be perfectly blaanced at release. I'd hope for a similar patching every 2 weeks for the frist months at leasst. Players are going to find broken things in balance that the testers probably didn't realise in Beta, or that simply weren't fixed in beta, or considered a problem in beta..
Ah, the truth comes out. I want to play as the 2007 year old modern woman! Special skills include: pristine unchanging beauty, infiltrator, and keen observer of dwarves.

Thank you for your journal entry. The environments we have seen so far are amazing. Keep up the good work and we look forward to experiencing it first hand in beta.

And besides, what will you be doing zoomed all the way up into the "face" of the dryad? Losing. To play the game competitively, I'm afraid you won't be able to enjoy the scenery nearly as much as we did in the trailer.

As to DOTA, quick comment: The melee heroes (particularly the strength based ones) were weak in the beginning and yes, got peppered by spammed nukes from the ints. However, by mid to late game, the table would turn and the high HP and str melee can shrug off most of the nukes. Most of the int nukers had a difficult time by late game. Some would say this is a balance issue, that everyone should be able to compete at every stage of the game... Lets compare to Mario Cart. Sure, mario and luig

Sounds almost like Tekken or Street fight SP ¿no? I'm curious how they will handle the team experience in SP. Do you partner up with 4 other AI controlled teammates or opt to fight everyone 1v1? I suspect its going to mix of all of those as a way of prepping players for MP (yes I know SP isn't meant to be MP training grounds, but it can serve more than one purpose).

it is nice to be able to mark areas on the map for your team. You can express only so much via voice chat and much less typing

A map on the moon would be epic. Imagine seeing the stars, sun, other planets (earth) in the distance. Perhaps throw in some close moving meteors (the gods are stirring). If there are to be environmental hazards, some of these meteors may do more than just fly by. As a side, maybe the physics could be tweaked slightly.

Rock on dev team. Anyone else notice the increased fever that is arising in the forums? A month ago, there would be a couple new posts a day on the Demigod Forums. Now, there are several posts and new threads coming up every day. It used to be a breeze keeping up with all the comments, but now I guess I'll have to miss out on more work :SURPRISED:
Mid-August is when the beta starts, so almost a month.Where is Scathis going to work now?
eh? lets not make half a month into almost a month. Thats worse than the cup is half empty :SURPRISED: I know, I know, the way these things go it may not be quite mid august and may start to roll around towards to the end of august before it comes out, but here's hoping they beat the deadline!

Its a nice idea, I know some would love to have a T-shirt. However, as has been pointed out, you can't just borrow the images from GPG and Stardock and then use them to sell a product.

Hmm, the I is the focal point of the logo. Looking at the eye, it acts a mirror. The line that underlines the logo is split by the eye, but exactly the same on the left and right. The pathing that is created by the letters and the underline is mirrored on both sides, thus the need for the bevel. You could also just mirror the D so that its backwards. It would still look visually appealing, but also convey more of the mirror split that the I and the underline is working towards.<br
Regains health from structures on the battlefield I'm thinking either the Unclean Beast or the Rook. Regulus could be cool but he probably won't be as impressive looking since he is smaller.
Thanks :) As cool as the Rook is, it is going to be very satisfying bringing him down.

I think one of the problems with the mini map in supcom is it was programmed to do too much. Just a simple little radar showing area explored, allies, fog of war, and enemies in line of sight of one of your allies. I'm a big fan of the minimap in WarIII especially when each individual player has their own color (ie Vibrant colors sentinel, dull colors scourge).

Since the game draws from Dota, counterstrike, battlefield, etc, I believe that when you die, you eventually respawn rather than "wiped off the face of the planet". But in any case, I know what you mean. After seeing the first trailer, I don't think any of us have to worry about the animations. Death animations, castle destroyed animations, creep kill animations, spell animations, movement, attacks, etc all will be epic.
