At PAX it was suggested you can marry off your daughters, as well as involve heroes in your family tree. So chances are your wife one of the recruited heroes or the daughter of somebody else. In theory there could be events that provide you with wives, or the sovereign could produce a child magically because... well... he's a channeler, he can do whatever he wants.

yay! I was thinking about those faction crests. I told Luckmann that he can go ahead and get the credit/karma for the other crests, but I might go ahead and post.... especially because I think Luckmann was saying that he couldn't post them. (I actually really hope that those crests are just place-holder symbols until the factions are ready. Not just because they are spells turned into faction crests, but the 3 with two small symbols makes thos

I'm not sure what you're saying exactly zigzag. The point of this beta is to let the community influence a large part of the development, which is something few other companies have tried. What "won't work" about that? I mean, yes... it won't be fun. But if you're trying to tell him not to get excited about it because it isn't fun, I think you could have been a bit more direct. :D

I think the ongoing issue is "why would maps have color" but its kinda voided by the map itself since it already has color for trees and rivers. So why not have more color? We'll see. I think color with a filter to make the coloring look uneven and on knitted cloth would work just find. If done right, it should still look like a cloth map, even though its a colored cloth map.

well, I think the suggestion should be roads shouldn't build where there is fog of war. Either A: the fog of war should go away (because the road crews mapped the area) or B: it should build around the fog of war (worse of the two options, but perhaps better at this point in the development, because it would prove that roads path around almost any added terrain feature.

ATI card huh? I've seen this kind of bug a couple of times in the feedback section, but I've never seen those strange markings. Looks like you have runes or something. Perhaps your computer is summoning an evil spirit.

you were looking for the wiki? One is here: https://www.elementalgame.info/wiki/index.php/Main_Page But I think its a little out of date. (please feel free to update it)

Everytime the 2 accessories thing comes up, I always wonder why games with that kind of accessory system don't allow for missing limbs. My question is, why only 2 accessories. Are necklaces, bracelets, loin-clothes, random HoMM style accessories also limited by this? (rather than a "ring slot" )

I like how this thread more or less became a thread about razing cities. Has this already been posted in the "idea" forum? I'd like to see death magic users or certain unique faction tech allow bonuses to be gained directly from razing cities. (I remember somebody talking about dead bodies as a resource.... well what better wait to get dead bodies than burn a city with the residents locked inside their own walls)

I'm very curious to see how this will relate to the final game. Certainly a player shouldn't be able to just change their units like that. However, if there is to be mod work, players should be fine to modify units as desired. I suspect the best way to handle it is somehow encrypt the main game units, but have copies or freely available ones for use in mods or whatever. Of course even then, there still needs to be ways of sorting them from eac

I feel your pain. But thats what this Beta is for. Helps catch those nasty hangs and memory issues before its too complex to figure out whats causing them.

man, don't even suggest it. I'd really like to avoid the kind of heated debate that Hortz likes to bring. I mean, nothing against the guy. I bet he isn't a bad person. But my troll skin is sensitive to fire, and I am not sure this animation is up to 1989 sierra point and click adventure game standards, let alone 2009 whatever he plays standards.

Its true. MoM is still very buggy (though in its defense, its hard to say what is caused by it or by emulation means such as DOS box, which does have some strange speed issues with MoM) I think its almost to a point where MoM isn't even the target successor anymore. Just that this is supposed to be in the same super-sub-genre. Its just that MoM is one of the examples of a really jaw-dropping experience here, where most of

yeah, I fear a double click to zoom would annoy me since I don't know when I last saw a mouse that didn't have a scroll wheel (which is what zooms in this). A double click should be saved for other features, like opening status windows or quick-spell lists or something.

they (the devs) have mentioned a few times that there should be a way for units to automatically upgrade themselves when better equipment becomes available. Next major beta release is supposed to have the actual "skeleton" of the gameplay, rather than just a "does it run" test. So we'll have to see what it looks like from there.

Me too. One of the things on my "to do list, for the elemental community" is finding a way encode the layer music and do it justice. (likely just going to be an aac file of the merged tracks) so I can post the music available prior to having to wait for a soundtrack to be released with the Special Edition
