Banned for bragging.
Have any of you ever met anyone named Dunov?
That doesn't mean that Dunov isn't a name. How many Russian people do you know? I always thought that ship names like Dunov and Krosov were named after people, for example their chief designers or something. The word Marza is Romanian for "Mars" as in the god of war (very appropriate name isn't it?). I've also found out that there was a group of tribes in southern India named the Kol and that Hoshiko i
Interesting and looks cool, but not enough factions for me.
I would give you karma but your elite stormtroopers got pwned by rebels with ewoks for back up.
The Kortul now is very good as it makes any enemy cap ship that it attacks useless. Some of the Marauder's abilities need to be redone from scratch. There is no point in using POH as an interrupt because the Kortul gets a passive interrupt with its DS ability. There is no point in disabling your own cap ship to save it from focus-fire when you can save it from focus-fire with Overseers that don't disable your own ship. Maybe POH should
Interesting. From what I have researched, I have found that Akkans were female spirits in Finnish mythology. Also, Marza is the name of a river in Romania. Also, cap ship and planet names sound slavic.
I thought it would be interesting if you could make alliances with the neutral planets. So instead of attacking all of them you could go into a partnership were you provide "protection" for a percentage of their economies.
You mean like a protectorate? Weaker factions and defeated factions could also become protectorates of a nearby much stronger faction or the faction that defeated them.
You are banned because you claim to ban anyone who uses the words that "for" and "not"
Perhaps I'm concentrating too much on research early on and should be thinking more about getting that second capital ship.
You should be focusing on getting a fleet if it is a small map or your eco on a large map. Getting a second cap quickly is not necessary, but can be effective. It is better to get all the cap ships that you plan on getting before late game when the enemy gets a fleet large enough to destroy any cap ship in seconds. Overseers for Vasari help preven
A military alliance will allow one faction to trespasse on another's territory without it being an act of war. Economic alliances would allow feeding. I'm not sure what a cultural alliance would do though. Good questions asked. I think that one faction wouldn't declare war on an ally if that ally is at war with another ally because being alone in war is bad. In this circumstance you could help two opposing factions fight and thus weaken each other and sell the intelligence to yet another fact
I'm looking forward to Diplomacy as it is going to add alot of depth and realism in this game.
I disagree from the Lore alone we learn that Varsari are all in diffrent Empires wich means parties don't matter in a Empire and those other then the Empiroir and his Planetary Governers don't really matter.
True, but it would only fail to work if they were actually called political parties. For the Vasari, this would work if political parties were called "clans" and different clans gives different bonuses if they are in power. If a clan losses power after the emperors
Funny, I was thinking only the other day if Sins had a custom game mode sort of like the Total War games. I like it alot. There would be settings such as planet type, mode (fleet v fleet or siege battle). Before starting the game each faction would get a certain amount of resources that you can change.
Entrenchment is definately worth it.
Very good post Draek Almasy. I agree with your point, although it is debatable whether Hannibal didn't know how to use victory. Maybe he lacked the manpower, time and resources to use his victory. Maybe he didn't.
Please tell me when war has actually worked in someones favor and accomplished long term goals?

Seriously one of the biggest motivaters for people to talk down about the US including its own citizens is because its on top.
Excell
War is about attritution, which is all about taking out resources and manpower.
This applies mainly to conventional war. The war in Afghanistan is unconventional. In assymetric warfare, things work differently. The terrorists control most of Afghanistan in 2009 and they get their money through kidnappings and also through aid money. The US is indirectly supporting their own enemy. The war in Afghanistan is not being won by the US. The objective of the war in afg
Whenever I play Advent, I hardly bother with any other caps than the mothership, the halcyon, and the radiance. I just don't feel the others are really that useful at all...I've never been overly impressed with their abilities,
The Rapture is very useful. Advent cap ships are extremely powerful if they synergise. You need to use their abilities in combos to reach their potential. Advent caps are extremely powerful when used together or when they support the fleet.
Trailer was great.
It really isn't a money issue at all. Up to this point, no character in the Sins universe has been animated yet. That is something we are saving for future releases. We are simply trying to keep the art style consistent for now. I'm sorry you didn't like it, but I assure you that a lot of time and care goes into our trailers.
Awesome. A Sins 2! btw, I love your current art style for trailers. Its unusual for a game, but looks cool. The rel
I didn't say that America was arrogant only that arrogance is a weakness. Plans are important as you said, but they need to be adaptable. An unchangeable plan is worthless.
I highly doubt that Russia can fund a a fully developed reply to the F22.
I intended this as food for thought, not to be taken as fact. More kills does not equal win in war. Usually it does, but not always. How many men have the Americans lost in Afghanistan? How many kills have the A
I picture Advent children being raised in a similiar manner to the Vulcan children from the latest StarTrek film. Silent ones would be outcasts and it would be shameful to even go near one let alone speak to one. Silent ones would be treated like lepers.
Double post.
Construction frigates cannot be built at the frigate factory in Entrenchment. That icon is just a placeholder. So this means that two new ships for TEC (very likely the other races too) are available. One of the devs forgot to change it for the screenshot.
No it does not. Diplomacy is still relevant if teams are locked.
Don't take my earlier post personally, I apologise if I offended you, but some advice: next time assume that you are doing something wrong rather then say the game is screwed. That way people on the forums will have greater respect and may even point out to you that it is the game that is screwed up, not you. Also, Sun Tzu talked about the fundementals of war so technology doesn't make his tactics obselete, it only changes the way that they are implemented. For example, laying proper
6. although i respect sun tzu and have read his book "art of war" he is out dated and all his tactics are invalid when talking about modern/ futuristic warfare as his strategy heavily depnd on the stamina of human troops, not spaceships.
That is possibly the most incorrect statement regarding war that I have ever heard in my life. His book is on the Marines Professional Reading List. Also, futuristic war is pure speculation so you can't say whether his tactics are valid
