Supporting rebellion in an enemy empire. Sounds . . . devious! Civil war should only occur due to very bad management (no culture centres, few infrastructure upgrades etc.) or if the enemy somehow incites it. There would need to be some sort of way to stop a colonised roid rebelling when the only other planet you have is your capital. This mechanic should come into play later in the game when empires are huge. The larger the empire, the greater the risk of rebellion.

True, but many people don't like the idea of a combat scout. Maybe the scout's infocard should say "counters long range frigates" rather then saying that scouts counters nothing. Changing the name would make sense though imo.

I agree wholeheartedly. Scouts are really weak and nerfing them will only make LRF spam come back. LFs are more then sufficient to crush scouts. Turrets and hangars should be cheaper imo. There will always people who spam so no matter how good the balance is, this will always exist. You can't stop people from doing what they want in a game. Its not as if pure scout spam or scout/LF spam is hard to deal with anyway. As RA said, go pure LFs. Just plain logic, really.
TEC ships are retrofitted, but in doing this, wouldn't you put the biggest guns possible on them? They obviously had a firm grasp on Auto-Cannons/Missiles, since squadrons were said to be a defence against pirates in the lore, so it's not that big a stretch to say they just made these bigger.
Why wouldn't the Vasari put the biggest possible guns on their ships? They had to fight and crush enemy civilisations to build their empire not just pirates. Putting a big gun and
Or maybe people are just over looking the fact that the Vasari were purposely given the weakness of overpriced toys.
This means that the Vasari are underpowered. It is completely unjustifiable giving a race the short end of the stick for so many ship types. Saying that a faction must be weak for the sake of lore is a poor excuse. Why doesn't the TEC have pathetic ships? In the lore they are only retrofitted civilian vessels so they shouldn't be par
JuleTron- in case you haven't taken the time to notice, the Skirmisher has EXACTLY the same firepower as a Cobalt, and better shields, Hull, and Armor. The ONLY thing that anyone has any real right to dislike is their supply cost. I do agree that the game might have been better if they cost 6, rather than 7, but the ship is the strongest 1 on 1, even without upgrades.
A 1v1 battle is completely irrelevant. The only way a Vasari player can fight with equal numbers of s
scouting buys you time to regenerate, they have to spend those extra few seconds looking ahead, while you repair your hull and prepair for the next battle. That is the purpose of Reintigration.
Sounds ok in theory but it doesn't work in practice. Other races can patch up their fleet just as quickly so this is not an adequate trade-off for battlefield performance. Skirms are not "bread-and-butter" ships because they suck so bad no-one ever uses them.
Va

The new Vasari cap ships are great and the Kortul is uber, but is no substitute for a good fleet. I'm not saying that the skirm should be a carbon-copy of the other LFs, I just think that it should fulfill its role competitively.
As for siege frigs, I do not support any more buffs to this unit.
I haven't seen this unit used online yet, so I thought that it may have been still useless. Apparently is isn't so my concern was addressed. To balance skirms by race, the Vasari should get superior flak or something. This would mean that Vasari destroy enemy SC faster, but destroy the carriers themselves more slowly.
I disagree. I just played a game where i used 5 Skirmishers and a Skirantra to clear my first five planets (Yes, it's a capitol, but doesn't even equal 3 Skirmishers in firepower and was only targeted in one grav well) And i didn't lose a single Skirmisher to that endeavor. You just have to know how to use the ship.
You would get dominated if you tried that online I reckon.
They are intended to harrass your enemy enough that they are forced to deal with
Note that reintegration should not just bring skirmishers "up to par" with the other light frigs, it should make them superior. Why? Because it makes no sense to have a light frigate with the "advantage" (cough) that, later on with research and money spent, it can be equal to the other light frigs. Why the hell is that a selling point?
Agreed.
The goal was to balance the race as a whole not the individual units
Vasari as a race is not b

Skirmisher Yay for DPS increase and better reintegration AI. Nay for the rest. Siege frigates are still useless. If they were buffed to be as good as they were in patch v1.02 (the uber SF of doom) they would be much better but since people use scouts so much, their strength may not be an issue. I might be completely and totally wrong, but any feedback on this idea?
No. Not true! They get LRFs (assailants) with ONE lab. So build them, not the crappy skirmisher, or skip to Carriers (they have the most durable strikecraft). They get the almighty Orkulus starbase with TWO labs! This is really their ace in the hole.
Okay, I forgot about that. However, how can access to SBs with 2 labs and easy access to neutrals justify a much weaker colonise bonus, overpriced scouts, extremely underpowered LFs, assailants that are much l

That sounds good, but the reason why the AI surrenders in the first place is because the "mop-up" stage in SP was very boring. Also, Space Egg colonise needs to be brought into line with the other races. Its unfair giving the Vasari overpriced ships AND a major eco disadvantage. Vasari scouts, assailants and sentinels need to get looked at.
no my point is each faction has somekindof disadvantage or advantage over the others. Im willing to guess that the large difference between LF is for good reason. You guys might want to consider the other abilities of the Vasari at the time LF are the major workhorse in the game.
Thats how it is supposed to be, but the Vasari are disadvantaged in EVERYTHING early game. Skirmisher is much weaker then other LFs. Assailant is much weaker then other LRFs. Navigator is the w
