Consider me one of those six who care about scripting[e digicons]:P[/e] Now, I can't speak for anyone else, but honestly I'm not concerned about the scripting support. That's not to say I don't want it soon, but I think we can all agree that Stardock has more important things to work on at the moment. Modding is great, but they need to get the game to a point where most people are happy with it before they can really focus on it. Plus all the optimization work they're doing on it goes

Hopefully this thread doesn't get lost in all the other posts. A fairly significant balancing issue (IMO) with the game as it stands is that small kingdoms are almost impossible to play as. There are a couple reasons for this, as far as I can tell: 1. Resources in your territory don't always link to your cities. This may or may not be a bug; I'm not really sure if it's intended or not. My impression was that if a resource is in your territory, you can build on it and use it. The build

I'm about half-way through it right now. It's not horrible like some people make it out to be, but it isn't Pulitzer material either. Some of the grammar and punctuation is definitely weird, but as long as you're not some sort of grammar nazi [e digicons]:P[/e] you can probably enjoy the book. The story isn't super original, but it isn't too bad either. If I were to compare it to, say, all of the Star Wars novels, I'd say it's better than most of them, but not as good as the Timothy Zah

I don't have a lot of time, so this is going to be a quick post. For future reference, PMing me in unecissary. Even though I don't always update the list and reply on the forums every day, I make a point to read new replies, skim the boards, check the dev journals, see what's going on, etc. Just posting in the thread is enough, as I will certainly see it (I've had a couple people PM me now). Have you already made your own Middle Earth map for this mod?
That was all done with a free program, the XSI Mod Tool. Do a quick search, it shouldn't be too hard to find.
Because the default "large" map size is not nearly big enough for Middle Earth (it's only 12x12, iirc). I tried it, and didn't like it. 24x24 might have been a little excessive. I was counting on the optimization to make it better (as I made it during the beta). It certainly does play better than before. Also, there's a tutorial by RavenX/Frogboy that shows you how to make custom map sizes, because you're right, normally you can't.

I wasnt aware you could make them that big. I tried to play on it and the game crashed after about turn 5, lol. That could just be the current state of things, or it could be the size of your map. Also how will people on older machines play your mod if this is an issue?

I've been rather busy lately, what with school starting and all (hence the lack of recent updates to my lists[e digicons]:P[/e] ) but I have had time to do a map of Middle Earth, and it's been posted in the mods section in Impulse::Reactor. It still has some issues, and certainly isn't balanced, and it's freaking huge, but it's up. As I improve it, I'll remove the old version(s) and post the new one(s).
